Dr. Ivor Garlick

I can’t give enough praises to Dr. Garlick and his wife, June Garlick I’ve been seeing him for about three years, they are a team duo where Dr.garlick helps me with my sobriety and my meds and I seen June Garlick as my therapist. Dr.garlick is very good doctor when it comes to treating helping and finding ways to overcome addiction he is patient understanding and always there when I need him. June Garlick can’t say enough about June. She is amazing cares about my needs, and is wonderful when it comes to the therapy of normal day issues to overcome deeper traumatic issues from my past, I would recommend them to anybody who has an opioid addiction, any sort of addiction and if you’re looking for a good therapist, who is very understanding, almost like a mother figure, but gives you the right tools to overcoming obstacles, and keeping sobriety. Been in a couple of different programs over the years, with good and bad experiences. My experiences with Dr Garlic and Mrs. June have been nothing but GREAT. I have been a patient for more than a year, and they truly care about their patients, which is sometime rare in Addiction Programs. They have not only given me the skills to battle my addictive behaviors, but other life skills that I plan on using throughout my my life. I have been coming to this doctor for 8 years he is the best. If you need treatment or a therapist this is the place to come they genuinely care about there patients. Really outstanding work they do best doctor in town... I have moved to Denver, fresh from a southern state. I was so afraid when i first got here. About my suboxone care. If i could find a doctor good enough, or who cares enough, or one who doesnt look at me like a stack of money in a chair. Well i have found that in Dr. Garlick. 3 things: 1. I knew it was fate and this guy truly cared, when i had an issue at the pharmacy to pickup my first scrip. I was on my last dose, the pharmacy was saying "call your doctor have him fix it" (paper issue) ...I knew this was a great man when i called his office, left a messge and begged "hey i need you guys to please please have Dr G place a call to the pharmacy immediately becuase im on my last dose AND they are about to close." Its not his problem i waited till 845 pm and on my last dose to refill. *Us addicts aye* So while im leaving the message im just a mess because like all doctors ive ever encountered ever in LIFE, i know in my heart this man isnt gonna get to it till after the weekend or a few days or the next day but it will not be resolved tonight. You know what they say about ASSuming? This man was on the phone with the pharmacy before i could even call my mom to ask what i should do. I didnt even get to the door of walgreens before they called my name, said he called and fixed my scrip. He was in ANTARCTICA folks! This was all in a 5min window. From when i left the message to when he was speaking with pharmacist. FASTEST. TURN. AROUND. I have ever seen. 2. If thats not enough, I have never seen somebody waiting in his office EVER. I have been there 3 times now and when you walk in the door they are ready to recieve you. No fiddling up front for an hour. 0 wait time. 3. If thats not enough, Im trying to come off benzos. I feel safe here. Hes very educated on benzo tapering and willing to work with me even on snail time lol. Hes not rushing me, but keeps me accountable. I genuinely feel my success is his success. We sat and made a calendar day by day for a month so we can get this benzo dose down. Im not trying to be dismissive of other doctors ive seen and do care for. However, it never felt personal. I never felt like anyone truly HELPED me. With Ivor, it feels personal. Again, my success is his success and for once im excited about my future!!! Dr Garlick was fantastic and caring. I called about a family member needing immediate help, and although he wasn’t “working” today and couldn’t help with the immediacy we needed, he still spent half an hour on the phone with me, asking detailed questions and giving me great information and a recommendation for a course of action. I agree with another reviewer that I wholly believe he is genuine in wanting to help people, and did so for me with no compensation what-so-ever. Dr Garlick was fantastic and caring. It is truly sad that Dr. Garlick doesn't get the recognition he so greatly deserves for being a compassionate and caring MD. For those who have had bad experiences with other doctors, know that NOT ALL DOCTORS ARE CREATED EQUAL. I, too, have dealt with "script mills", prescribing as many meds for as many people as they can get away with. Dr. Garlick and June are in this line of work to help people, bottom line. If you truly want to change your life, these are the people you can trust to help you do it. I sincerely hope that no one is influenced by past potential patients whose negative experiences with other doctors shaped their opinions of all practices. You'd be cheating yourself out of a better life and getting there with people who only want you to be happy and healthy. Dr Garlick is an extremely intelligent/informed, credible and compassionate doctor. As a patient that has struggled with this illness, I have regrettably experienced several doctors that left me feeling skeptical and jaded. Meeting Dr Garlick was like a breath of fresh air. It is clear to me that his purpose and passion is to help people that struggle with this disease to get off harmful/illegal drugs and to enable them to create a healthy and sustainable life. Dr Garlick understands that this does not always require total abstinence. I believe Suboxone saved my life. Additionally, he is sympathetic and realistic about the process and timeline. He is always available/responsive and acts in alignment with his beliefs and values. I assume the two negative reviews I read are from people that didn’t actually meet him, or from people that made an incorrect assumption that he is like so many other doctors in this space. I can assure you on no uncertain terms that Dr Garlick would never tell somebody to continue using illegal/harmful drugs. However, like any good business person, he obviously needs to be compensated for his work. He also needs to protect his time by implementing a very reasonable cancellation policy. I’m honestly not sure why some people believe that canceling the same day of their appointment is reasonable or fair. I can honestly say that Dr Garlick is the best doctor I have worked with in this industry. For the first time in a very long time, I feel optimistic and confident about my future and my health. I don’t have to worry about feeling sick or not meeting my commitments ever again. I am a much happier person and also a much better mother, wife, and friend. I called to get an appointment and I told the lady that I work and I get off between 2 to 3 so she chooses that 2:30 was perfect for the doctor then she asked me to call at 9 next day and confirm if I'm coming or not so today like she told me I called and I told her that I just got to the job and might need some more time and then I find out that I'm only working tell 12 o'clock so I called again after 1 hour from my first call and I told her that I'll be there on time and maybe before. I get a call from a private number and it was the doctor dr. Garlick he started asking me a lot of questions and he sounded like he wants his money on time and he accused me like I I'm not going to stick to the schedule and he sounded like he didn't even want to see me and we have not ever met each other before I don't know him he doesn't know me I don't know why he thinks that about me why he think that im bad or I'm going to do something bad I choose not to go cuz he sounded like he was threatening me and he sounded like he didn't want to see me I don't know for what reason but he did not want to see me .. As someone who has seen multiple Doctors for addiction and has successfully treated this disorder for over a decade I can confidently say that Dr. Ivor is by far the best Doctor not only in addiction medicine, but as a person to talk to about medical issues. It takes a serious commitment from the client but that is because he cares about his patients and won't just write a prescription because you asked. Over the years my admiration of Dr. Ivor has grown and I have only the highest compliments for him and his staff. This man ran a suboxone clinic with his irritable wife working the counter. He had a very expensive upfront cost. He called in a small prescription that wasn't adequate enough to cover the length of time, he told me I'd need to pay an additional fee to get a full prescription called in, which wasn't disclosed or agreed upon initially. When I told him I wasn't able to pay a last minute fee (which was also outside the original agreement) he told me I'd just have to go back to using illegal narcotics instead to keep myself from feeling poorly. I found out he's done this to other people as well. He never called and follow up, didn't care as there was no money in it for him. Find another doctor if you can, his sole purpose is to prevent drug use, but will make no effort to do so unless there's extra money involved.
