Dr. Ishaq Yousuf Syed

I came in for a consultation for chronic neck pain that had worsened rapidly and was making it so that I could no longer do my job. After going to chiropractors for many years, I thought I should get a proper medical diagnosis from a spine doctor. After a review of my MRI, which showed that I did have bulging discs, scoliosis, and mild arthritis (at a very young age), he swiftly dismissed me by saying "your issues are not operable" and that this would be the end of the line for treatment. I asked him what could be causing such severe pain if it's not a pinched nerve, and he just responded "Pain is subjective." Unless your problems require cutting you open, your problems do NOT matter to this man. Over the course of two visits, he spent about 5 minutes total with me and I felt completely dismissed and treated like I was stupid for feeling pain just because it wasn't caused by a pinched nerve, ruptured disc, or compressed spinal cord.

I highly recommend Dr. Syed. He explained the procedure very thoroughly and answered all of my questions. Above all, he did a great job on my spine surgery & I feel so much better.

Dr. Syed is a fantastic surgeon. He takes the time to listen to you and explain your options. And his entire staff is fantastic.

Dr Syed took wonderful care of me throughout the entire surgical process. He explains everything in detail and doesn’t rush through anything. His entire surgical team is very professional and on top of their game. I highly recommend Dr. Syed and his team.

Very horrible experience with associate named Nicole Rushing . Had an appointment October 20, 2020 at 10:30 am. Ms Rushing mumbled a first name similar to mine so I said Graciano? She repeated the name and then mumbled my last name and I said Rivera? She repeated my last name and I said you can't read names. She said excuse me? So I reiterated that she can't read names. She told me to wait so she can get somebody who can read names. She came out again and fetch another patient and I asked for name but she rudely said she was with a patient and she will come back for the information. The office Manager ( Linda Reveler) came out next and interrogated me about what happened. When my voice started to get loud, she invited me in a room and I told her about my experience. I even requested her to bring Ms. Rushing into the room so we could thresh out the issue. Ms. Reveler stepped out of the room and when she came back, she told me that Dr. Syed will not be able to see me. I said I have already paid for my visit and she quickly turned around and had it refunded. This experience is very hurtful and jarring to this 72 year old body. I wasted my time and energy waiting to be attended and then denied the chance to see Dr. Syed. What intrigues me is who decided to cancel my schedule? Will there be any disciplinary action on Ms. Rushing? I will be consulting with my lawyers about this issue. Please be guided accordingly.

I have had the need for Two separate spinal surgeries due to arthritis and both were performed by Dr. Syed. I know that I couldn’t have been in better skilled hands. Thank you once again

Dr. Syed has been a blessing to me. I have been fooling around for 20+ years with back problems and worked with another group to try all non-surgical and then some minor surgical options. I suddenly had terrible back pain where I could not stand up. Dr. Syed got me in very quickly and completed a laminectomy and spinal fusion on L3-5. His work was meticulous and now, after 12 weeks, for the first time in over 20 years I do not have back pain.

I had ACDF surgery in April of 2019. Dr. Syed is extremely knowledgeable and patient. I have a very small scar and absolutely no pain anymore. I would highly recommend Dr. Syed.

Wonderful surgeon. The entire process went smoothly. Dr. Syed explained my problem in easy to understand language. The surgery went extremely well. I had very little discomfort following surgery. The final outcome was exactly what I was hoping for. I have no numbness and complete usage of my hand again with no pain. I highly recommend Dr. Syed for spine issues. No complaints at all!

Dr. Syed is a wonderful surgeon and great credit to his profession. He and his staff are top draw, extremely professional and at the same time make you feel very confident and comfortable. Dr. Syed is so good he makes everything seem so simple, yet he gives you his honest opinion and spends enough time with you to fully explain every detail and answer every question. His skill as a surgeon is awesome. I had a lot of difficult issues due to a prior fusion when I was a 19 years old. Now, 49 years later, Dr. Syed had to do a lot of nerve work and remove old scar tissue to open up my spinal canal, then replace one ruptured and one partially ruptured discs and fuse three vertebrae. My surgery was 100% successful, it relieved all my back pain, and restored my mobility. I am blessed to have such a humble, knowledgeable, conscientious, personable, and skillful healer as Dr. Syed to care for me. I certainly recommend Dr. Syed to anyone in need of an Orthopedic Doctor, and Surgeon.

I first starting seeing Dr Syed for pain in my left arm that was continuous and throbbing. As a result I had surgery on three sets of neck vertebrae, c3 thru c6. I have nothing but admiration and respect for the skill he demonstrated as evidenced by my rapid recovery and removal of all pain! He is remarkable for his patience in explaining situations and possible remedies, presenting both pro and con of those remedies. He is very tolerant of all questions and answers every one in easily understandable terms. I recommend him highly for anyone needing help with any kind of pain involving neck or back. He is the very best there is and I was blessed to have been referred to him!

my experience with Dr Syed was the very best! Referred to him due to pain in left arm, resulting from compressed neck vertebrae. He carefully explained both pro and con of having the surgery prior to under going the procedure. His skill is remarkable and a few months after surgery I am pain free. What a blessing! I was in severe pain which limited my activity level. Dr. Syed and his staff diagnosed the issue and scheduled my procedure. He took time explaining the procedure, post - op process, and subsequent rehabilitation. I am happy to say 1 year post operation I have never felt better. I am back to being active...pain free! Had some very serious back problems which restricted some of my daily activities as well as limited my travels. After Dr. Syed's surgery, I have improved to the point where I am at 100%. I am able to do just about anything and go anywhere I want. Example, in Jan 2020, I am going on an expedition ship to Antarctica. Before this surgery, I would never considered such a trip. Dr. Syed is just simply GREAT!

I don't know to begin to thank Dr. Syed. I went in for neck pain that shot down my right arm. He then did neck surgery and after his magic hand were done my neck was back to normal. He is a very personal doctor concerned about how I was doing throughout the process. I have complete confidence in being a patient of his.

Dr. Syed did a laminectomy with a postenor spinal fusion surgery on January 15, 2018. I had previously severe pain in my left leg preventing me from doing a lot of activities. Since my surgery I have been able to walk free of pain. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Syed performed surgery on my lower back Fall, 2017. My recovery has been phenomenal. No pain and minimum reduction in flexibility. I feel great. I highly recommend Dr. Syed. He really cares about his patients. He spent more time with me than any other surgeon I have had. He explained the options in more detail. He spent 20 mins on the phone with me when I was having problems and helped get my surgery scheduled earlier. It has been a pleasure to have him as my surgeon.

Dr. Syed truly was a God send. I feel so much better. Its nice to wake up in the morning and get out of bed with little pain.

Dr. Syed is an excellent surgeon. My husband suffered with extreme pain as a result of spinal stenosis., which was recently treated with successful surgery. We were very apprehensive about back surgery, but could not have asked for better results. We highly recommend Dr. Syed.

From the very first visit Dr. Syed made me and my wife feel extremely comfortable. He spent a great deal of time explaining everything to me in a way I could understand it. The day of my procedure he was very reassuring and he took the time with my wife after the surgery was over to explain in detail what he had done, what to expect over the next few days and how she should expect things to go with me during the next weeks. My first post-op appointment was just as great as every other aspect

I would recommend Dr. Syed to all my family, friends and anyone that's in need of a great Orthopedic surgeon. Wonderful personality, very caring and concerned. Great bedside manners.

After several months of pain pills, therapy, and seeing a chiropractor I finally had my first appointment with Dr. Syed. From the beginning he was honest with my about my injury and what was best to resolve it. I could have not have asked for better results. I do not expect to have to see him again in the future.
