Dr. Irwin John Isaacs

2 1/5 months in pain due to ishial bursitis. Was greatly relived with injection from Dr. Isaac's. So grateful. Also had seen him in 2005 for herniated disc back pain, also relieved by injection per Dr. Isaac's So grateful for the help.

Dr. Isaacs and his staff are consumate professionals who truly care about their patients. My primary care provider referred me to Dr. Isaacs when I had an episode of terrible back pain that put me flat on my back. The treatments Dr. Isaacs has provided put me back on my feet and allowed me to function again. I am most grateful.

The staff and Dr. Isaacs are caring and personable. They got me in the same day that my back went out. I got schedule right away for epidural injections. Just an outstanding clinic! Thank you guys!

I have been going to Dr. Isaacs for years. He does an excellent job and is spot on when he does my back. I looked him up when I was needing pain management since he was with Presbyterian. I was glad to know he went into private practice. I have a really bad back from RA and Arthritis and he helps it with my injections.

Dominique seems to think that you have to beg for an appointment and lies about not receiving referrals as though she believes no one understands how faxes/electronic faxes and e-mail works. I love Dr. Isaccs he is incredibly professional and honest. Ive been to different pain clinics but no one has made me as comfortable as dr. Isaacs. He is honest and doesn't sugar coat anything. His staff is amazing too. Update: if you are considering Dr. Isaacs look no further he is a very good doctor. He has completely changed my life call and make an appointment ASAP. The answering service for this Dr. is so rude and aggressive that I cannot even get through to make an appointment. I can't believe that a pain management office would have such a mean person representing them.

Went in for epicondylitis and found a shredded tendon with a bone spur. He offered a PRP solution that seemed to be way more effective than anything else I had tried. My only issues I had were A.) Expensive (2x what you can get for PRP at some competitors), B.) Didn't offer a lot in the way of rehab opinions aside from rest and Tylenol C.) Dissuaded me from returning to the sport (body building/weight training) that I am being held back from, which, quite frankly, is why I had the procedure done in the first place ????... I found this ironic seeing as his office advertisements and website have several sales pitches geared towards athletics... I'm unsure if he's just trying to cover his a$$ or what. Everyone in the office was pleasant to deal with and Dr. Isaacs was pretty good at following up, he called me the day after the procedure just to check in which was appreciated. Apparently didn't read my medical records before I saw him. Didn't explain anything. Didn't tell me what he was going to inject me with. Epidural didn't help my problem. Started talking about politics. He was condescending, rude and unprofessional.

Dr Isaacs and his staff are excellent. Professional, courteous and also personable. They take the time to explain procedures, follow ups, what to expect, etc. Top notch equipment as well. All of this made me feel comfortable and confident. Highly recommend!

I have been a patient of Dr. Isaacs for many years - dating back to when he was with Presbyterian. I followed him when he moved to Santa Fe and was thrilled when he returned to Albuquerque. Dr. Isaacs has helped me manage my pain so well I have stopped going to him, until it returns. I then head back. There have been a few times where a year or two has passed, in between visits but he remembers and we pick up treatments. I highly recommend Dr. Isaacs for individuals with migraines, back pain, knee pains, any pains. The real icing on the cake is he also will help you look better and younger. Dr. Issacs has made a huge impact on my quality of life. Before seeing Dr. Issacs I had 5 cortisone injections and a cervical nerve abalation at a different doctor’s office and my symptoms were drastically worsening, rather than improving. Each procedure was hundreds of dollars, so not only was I not getting any pain relief, but I was spending (and charging) money on something that wasn’t working. Then, my coworker recommended Dr. Issacs. If you haven’t found relief from another doctor, I suggest trying Dr. Issacs. In his initial consultation he listened to my pain story and all of the modalities I tried to find relief and he gave it to me straight up – my neck is messed up and we will try what we can do to fix it, but no promises (I like honesty). During that appointment Dr. Issacs gave me literature with graphics that clearly show how each injection/ procedure effect other parts of your body. It was nice to have the literature to bring home to refer to after the appointment was over. When I got my injections I had all the confidence in the world that Dr. Issacs got the medication in the correct place. Dr. Issacs and his assistant, Jenn, did a great job checking in with me throughout the procedure and I felt that it went well. Also, Dr. Issacs only charges your copay - there aren't a bunch of hospital fees. Everyone on staff at Dr. Issacs office is professional and courteous – and they actually answer the phone and call you back in a timely manner which is not he case at my other doctor’s office. At the other doctor’s office, sometimes I have to wait over a week for a simple call back. Bottom line – if you need injections for pain management go to Dr Issacs – he knows what he is doing, he cares about his job and his staff is empathetic and professional. Dr. Isaacs and his courteous staff were very helpful and professional before, during and after my procedure. They fully explained everything, took all the time I needed and made sure to follow up with me. I will go back and I recommend this clinic highly.

I had facet injections in my lumbar area 9 months ago. Others note that he doesn't have a great bedside manner, and while definitely more perfunctory than warm, I thought he was professional and did his job well. Personally, this is all I care about. It was the nurses that prepped me and explained what was going to happen. Dr. Isaacs came in to determine the location of the injections and that was that. The procedure was quick & efficient and I have not had to return for more injections.

Hard to communicate with. Told me to be quiet he was concentrating. Plays music I find disturbing. I am not sure if he helped me. Poor bed side manner including staff who play whatever type of music THEY like.

I can't believe he's a real doctor. He acted like some random guy who just wandered in to the exam room. He would barely look at me & had no interest in where I had back pain. I asked "Don't you even want to see where I hurt?" He sighed & reluctantly said "Fine, show me where it hurts." That was my first & last office visit with him. What a quack. Sorry it's too much trouble for you to do your job!

Isaacs was one of the WORST doctors I have ever had. He NO bed side manner. I had an epidural injection last Friday by him. All he said was..."Hi. How are you? What side? Can I mark you?"...That is IT! He didn't explain anything, he didn't tell me what he was going to inject me with. After the procedure, from about 6 feet away he gave me a thumbs up, apparently he was asking me if I was alright. I'm SO glad he isn't staying at Pres in ABQ. I would have gone else where. HORRIBLE!!!

Worst experience ever, worst doctor ever. He was rude to the nurses, radiologists and me, leaving me in worse pain than when I walked in. I've had the same procedure many times (different town and real doctor) with good results. Isaacs' name is really Dr. Sadistic and don't let him touch you!!!

My daughter went into a RF neurtomy procedure today, for the 2nd time and he ADDED to her pain level due to poking and prodding after she had told him she was already at a level 5 pain level. He did not do the courtesy of identifying himself to me when awaiting the procedure in pre-op nor did he even acknowledge that I was there with my daughter. He had no sense of the pain my daughter was already in nor did he care to know who was with her prior to her procedure. He was rude and denigrating!
