Dr. Spar is the best orthopedic hand surgeon. I went to see doctor spar after a botched surgery from a local well-known doctor. I had lost all hope to use my hand again and be pain-free. Absolutely LOVE Dr. Spar. I had tendonitis in both wrists and elbow and he fixed with each visit. Thorough and extremely smart. I personally love that he does not need to rely on tech these new doctors think is a complete replacement for medicine. Dr. Spar saw me for the 1st time and he was so kind and compassionate. I will definitely recommend him. To early to tell if I will be fixed but his plan seems accurate. Dr. Spar is so exceptional and has so intricately helped me with many orthopedic issues. I would recommend him to any with any issue. Yes, his office is super old school and he may not be using tech your doctors are using today but it is not needed for him. He knows exactly what he is doing. Great doctor.

Dr Spar actually cares about his patients instead of just caring about the money and that is real hard to find these days.

I went and he worked wonders !! On the same day he had seen me for evaluation he fixed my hand completely ! Amazing . Yes a bit outdated , but wonderful table side manner . I wonder if his sense of humor was mistaken by some . I went in pain ,came out with no pain , and he made the appt right away .

This is the best and most knowledgeable doctor with a lifetime of experience. We have been going there for years. Dr Spar prescribed highly effective treatments on various sport-related injuries. And, yes, also love his sense of humor.

Dr. Spar is an excellent clinician and skilled physician. He doesn't need or depend on "fancy" gadgets. As a highly trained clinican, he is able to assess a problem and provide a solution. He doesn't "GOOGLE' it, to find the answers ---his years of experience speak for him. Have recommended him to many friends and family members.

MR. Spar doesn't deserve the title of doctor, unless it's Doctor of Quackery and Incompetence. I had been injured at work and had been referred to him as a so called 'Independent Examiner'. He walked in with a bad attitude and a scowl. I felt as though I were on trial and had already been condemned. He spent perhaps five minutes with me during which time he completely misdiagnosed my injury, and then stomped out of the room. It took several more months, another doctor and an MRI to prove that MR. Spar's 'unbiased' opinion was WRONG, causing me more problems in the long run. I would have posted this as is but was not allowed to until I gave him a star rating. My rating? 1 star. Minus five. MR. Highly recommended, everyone in our family has seen and have had great results with Dr. Spar and his staff.

Went in for an excruciating pain in my wrist. Dr Spar spent no more than 5 minutes with me, everything in his office was an antique, including himself. Shot me with cortisone in the injured area and sent me on my way. Two weeks pass and the pain is back 10 fold, I call for a follow up, takes two weeks to get me in, which I understand they are busy, that's fine. Then they call me two days before my appointment, cancelling for "weather". Just a little snow. I even let that slide, then finally, I asked what they planned to do for treatment, is it time for an MRI? Maybe physical therapy? No. Another cortisone shot is "all they can do". In summary, if you're looking for actual treatment, and equipment not dated before the 1960's, Dr Ira Spar is not your guy. Went in for an excruciating pain in my wrist. Fell down a few stairs earlier this week and injured my right foot. I called Dr. Spar's office, as I have seen in the past and always been very satisfied. He was able to X-ray my foot and we could see the results immediately. Dr. Spar is a great doctor and I will miss him if and when he retires.

Dr. Spar has a lot of experience, is kind and efficient. Makes correct diagnoses and conservative treatment plan. Jane in the office is friendly and possesses great customer service. Would recommend.

Definitely do not recommend. Horrible scheduling, everything in the office looks like it's out of an antique catalog, including the dr. your typical "shoot them with cortisone and let them keep coming back" treatment. If you're looking for real solutions, and equipment not dated before the 1960's, this is not your guy.
