I am so glad I saw Dr. Fedder for my cervical spine surgery. I am 3 months out. I feel great! No more shoulder pain. No more headaches. No more numbness and tingling in my arms. I can’t thank him enough! His staff is great. Very nice and accommodating.

I had excruciating pain for 6 months and was recommended to Dr. Fedder who performed lumbar surgery in December. Immediately upon waking up from surgery , I was pain free. He is personable and is concerned about his patients I highly recommend him. He has great follow up calling me night of surgery to see how I was doing. If you are looking for a great surgeon, he is the one for you. His staff is exceptional, kind and caring from the moment you call or see them with great follow through. I had been in excruciating pain for 5 months with sciatic pain. Dr. Fedder diagnosed me and performed spinal surgery. I woke up pain FREE. Thank you Dr. Fedder!!! His staff is awesome and everyone at St. Joseph's treated me with kindness and respect. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Fedder and St. Jospeh's Hospital.

Dr. Fedder pays very close attention to his patients issues. He is honest and up front with me when it came to resolving the problems I have with my spine. I highly recommend him for any help with your back injuries.I had a great out come from the surgery he performed.

Back in May 2012, I broke my neck at a rock concert(a guy was hurled through the air and his head hit the back of my neck). Fortunately, my neck was broken on only 1 side, along with a severed vertebral artery. I was blessed that when I checked into St Joseph Hospital, Dr. Fedder was my surgeon. The next day he performed a neck fusion, and I'm happy to say that 8 years later, I've had ZERO issues with my neck. Dr. Fedder's skill and demeanor, were, in a word, exemplary.

I truly trust Dr. Fedder in all aspects of Orthopedic care. He's professional, caring and helpful in all things: appt's, surgical prep, surgery and post surgical care.

I waited 90 minutes past my scheduled appointment time and, when I finally got to see Dr. Fedder, he was abrupt and rude. He gave no indication that he’d read the 4-page history the office requires you to fill out — in fact, he just flipped it aside while looking at my diagnostic reports. He took no time to talk to me about the history of treatments nor did he do any sort of examination. He’s extending arrogant and rude.

Dr. Fedder is an amazing surgeon. He explains everything well and with great humor.

Dr. Fedder is a true patient's doctor. He is a highly trustworthy surgeon. Although he uses surgery as an option of last resort, Dr. Fedder has operated on me a few times and I would not go with anyone else. He is highly respected as a surgeon (he trains spine surgeons) and he takes great care of his patients. He is in high demand and you may have to wait a while to see him and also in his office. However, from experience I can tell you he is worth the wait. Waiting is worth a good outcome.

A review/complaint of my first appointment with Dr. Fedder My appointment was at 9:45 I wasn’t seen by Dr Fedder until 10:55 and he spent about 10 minutes with me. In this time he spent with me he wasn’t very pleasant.. as they say “horrible bedside manner.” He asked me what was wrong i told him about some of my pain he pulled out some paperwork on bursitis and said it was probably bursitis in my hips. He showed me an exercise to do and said ok. Like he was done with me. I had gotten a MRI and a CT done about a worrisome lesion on one of my bones. He was given all info but didn’t even mention it. I had to stop him and say “hey what about this lesion.. should I be worried?” He pretty much said that it probably is nothing but “if you are gonna worry about it.. then you can get it checked in 6 months” His tone with me was very much condescending as if I was worrying too much. I told him I was really worried about this pain in my back and hips at night and wondered what could make it better. He pretty much flat out told me there was nothing. I said “am I suppose to just have to live in pain all the time” and he said “yep probably” I said “well that sucks” (kinda annoyed with how he replied) and he said “yeah it sure does.” He then began to say “so you know how many people come into my office with your pain?” I was in shock he was addressing me in this way. His tone was very much a get over yourself type of tone. He said take the Aleve before bed and see what happens. He told me “you know the KISS saying.. keep it simple stupid” I couldn’t even believe it. Then he left the room. I left that office fuming. I was so beyond upset and shocked. I waited over a month to see him and to really find out some answers and I left with nothing. It was a huge waste of my time and now I will need to search around, find another doc, make another appointment that will probably take me months to get to do this all over again. My hope is to find a good doctor who truly cares about their patients and who is willing to help as much as they can to help me have a pain free life. To be told I was just going to be in pain for the rest of my life and I would just have to suck it up and deal with it is not the answer. Anyway I just wanted to let everyone know how Dr. Fedder is treating and speaking to his patients behind closed doors. I found it very unprofessional and very disheartening. Dr. Fedder saved my husband's life. After being told he was too old for surgery - he's in perfect health - by another surgeon Dr. Fedder agreed to do it. It was a long recovery with therapy but he has been in great shape for four years.

This man is an excellent surgeon. Has operated on me, my husband and my son. All of us had excellent recoveries. Is he often late? Yes. Does he often have a condensing tone? Yes. Does he have little patience with people who have tolerable pain but want an operation? Yes. Is his bedside manner less than perfect? Yes. (He told me my neck brace “was not a necklace” and tighten it up) But if you want a no bs opinion and excellent surgeon he’s your guy. This man is an excellent surgeon. I had suffered for many years with my back pain. Dr Fedder was able to diagnose the complexities of my problem. I am finally getting much needed relief after a complex surgery. My pain mgmt doctor referred me to Dr Fedder because of his skill and expertise with my complex back issues. He said Dr Fedder was the best for spinal surgery. Dr Fedder is the only one that could help me. I am so grateful for the excellent care I received.

Absolute joke of an office. I had an appointment set up weeks in advance and had to travel hours to get to it. My appointment was canceled the day before in the afternoon (my appointment was 8am the next day) with no explanation. I received only a voicemail of the cancelation. And I was already traveling to get there, just for the appointment. The office never called back to reschedule or anything -- nothing, never heard from them again. The utter disregard for me as a patient is absurd.

You get one star otherwise I could not submit. No stars are deserved! Upon making appointment I was told to see physician assistant. They had me take X-rays, nothing else with my history of two back operations and continued pain. I was told I needed spinal injections as they could not see a reason for my pain. My husband and I left feeling very uncomfortable. Ended up seeing a proper doctor and after MRI and CT scan found the PROBLEMS! Will need another operation.

Very compassionate and skilled surgeon with excellent bedside manner. A real patient advocate and one who effectively combines his pharmacist professional knowledge with his surgical skill. Dr. Fedder is the one to see especially if you have a complex issue and you have given up hope.
