Dr. Hewatt M Sims

Dr. Sims is an incredible surgeon. I've got degenerative disc disease so I'm going to need surgeries throughout the rest of my life. Dr. Sims has done two surgeries on me and one on my husband. I can't tell you what a fantastic surgeon he is and how much relief I've received from his operations.

Dr Hewatt McGraw “Mac” Sims is one Arrogant & Rude Dr. PLEASE save yourself the time. My husband was involved in a vehicle accident Wich he broke 3 bones in his back so I was on the search for a spinal Dr, heard good things about Mr Sims. Drove 2 hours to see him & before seeing him his staff were WONDERFUL. My husband is on pain meds etc, so I was there to help explain and make sure he understood. Something was showing up on my husbands scans that looked like an old injury that was very concerning- while they took him to get X-rays I remembered a previous accident years ago & by the time my husband was brought back to us Mr Sims entered. He sat down & asked my husband," you haven't had any back pain prior to this?" I spoke up and said "oh & I was wanting to tell y'all.." (with intentions of saying the old accident could be some of the damage they are seeing in his back hoping that could help) Dr Sims cut me off- looked at me and said "ma'am he is sitting right here, he can speak for himself." So I shut my mouth. A moment later he asks my husband something & my husband looked at me and I said "He is talking to you not to me , he doesn't want me to answer for you." At the point Dr Sims got up slammed his notebook shut told us to find another Dr. Dr Sims walked out of the room & told all of the staff," Apparently they think they need a Dr that is smarter than Me. Get them a refund and get them out." I was so distraught, embarrassed, crying and shocked I rolled my ankle in the parking lot. I've never in my life experienced a Dr that was this childish and unprofessional. I wouldn't EVER recommend Dr Sims. It is a shame his staff was so wonderful, I can’t imagine what they go through if they have to be around him on a bad day. I don’t know what came over him that day- but if that is how he is on a regular basis, he is a waste of a degree

Dr Sims is by far the best doctor I have ever visited. He has done 2 neck surgeries on me. 2008 and 2014. He always took time to explain everything in great detail every step of the way and his office staff is amazing. I am now needing more back treatment and am so saddened at the fact that his office does not take my insurance. Not sure who to turn to now. Thank you Dr Mac for all you did for me. My vs was as always the staff are friendly & professional as always. Dr Sims rapport with me & my family is like no other. He cares and involves you in every part of the procesd.
