Dr.seigle, Has done 5 hip surgeries for me. My hip was in so bad he had to work double time to help me. But eventually he had to take my hip out and put a spacer in because the hip kept getting infected. But I think he's one of the best surgeons we have in the United States. He's number one in my opinion.

Professional experience.

Dr. Siegel did revision surgery on my hip 10 months ago and I’m still in pain. I hope I don’t have to have a third one because I still have the other one pending.

He saved my left leg after another Dr put my hip in. I had 8 staph infections before I went to him and he redid mine I've not had any problems

Dr. Siegel did my hip replacement, the best yet. He and the staff at UAB Highlands did wonders. He will definitely be doing my knee replacement.

Outstanding orthopaedic surgeon. I did fantastic with both of my hip replacements. Back to playing golf in a month and riding a bike without pain. I'm very impressed with UAB Highlands. Great nursing staff. They were so friendly.

I met Dr. Herrick Siegel in mid April, to discuss arthroplasty surgery of my left knee. After a surgical consult with a different orthopedic surgeon in early March, left me feeling hopeless. As the first surgeon repeatedly referred to me as a high risk patient. Expected to suffer serious complications, if not death. By the time I arrived at Dr. Siegel's office, for a second opinion. To say that I was apprehensive would have been a understatement. To be honest, thanks to the first orthopedic surgeon, my confidence and nerves were totally shattered. Only for Dr. Siegel to enter the exam room and quickly put my fears to rest. Me leaving his office with total knee replacement surgery scheduled for May 5, 2021. I am seven weeks post opt today. After a overnight stay at UAB Highlands, I was discharged to recover at home. By day three; I transitioned from using a walker to a cane. By day four, I no longer needed opioids to control my pain. In recent weeks, I have gained the ability to walk a couple of blocks without any assistive devices needed. I go to outpatient physical therapy twice a week. My only set back at this time is swelling and the inability to bend my knee more than a 100 degrees. Which is a little compromised due to a second surgery on the same day, to release and stretch my Achilles tendon. That was preformed by a different orthopedic surgeon. If you are in need of arthroplasty AKA total knee replacement surgery. Knowing what I know now. Dr. Herrick Siegel is absolutely the best. He re did my knee replacement that someone else screwed up. Thank god for Siegel. I am so much better. I would not let anyone else touch my knee!

Just really nice people. Siegel is awesome! He can fix anything. I had 3 surgeries elsewhere. Siegel fixed it right. Gave me my life back.

I had a pelvic tumor. I was diagnosed right away and had to have chemo for awhile. I then had surgery to remove it. Dr Siegel did a wonderful job. I have fully recovered and have a great life! Thank you Siegel!

Dr Siegel is a wonderful surgeon. He replaced both of my hips and revised my left knee that was done a long time ago. I really like him personally. He is a good sole. I highly recommend him to everyone.

Dr Siegel is a real legend in joint replacement surgery. I can’t believe I have absolutely pain free knees. I suffered for so long and everyone told me that I couldn’t have them done because I was too heavy (let’s just say over 280 lbs). But I’m now down to 245 and feeling good. I would love to give a review, but I'm 2hrs past my appointment time and still waiting. Apparently this is normal here at this clinic. Edit:. It was unfair of me to give a bad review to a doctor because of administrative issues. I was frustrated at the wait. Dr. Siegel is a great doctor who took good care of me long ago and is seeing me again. He is a stand up guy who cares for his patients. He removed a tumor out of my lower leg and behind my ankle and made sure I was well taking care of would definitely recommend him to anyone!!!!

Dr. Siegel saved my leg and potentially my life a few years ago. I had 8 knee surgeries in 9 1/2 months and he performed the last 2. I was referred to him by a doctor from The Andrews Institute, so I knew he had to be good! When your doctor starts talking about a potential fusion or amputation, you know that you need to find the best doctor to give yourself a chance. Siegel is a great surgeon. I'm serious. I was told I was going to lose my leg and I'm telling you, he was confident he could help me and he really did. I'm so proud of how I'm doing. I had a fantastic therapist and great support from the whole group at UAB Highlands. I recommend going to Dr. Siegel. He is awesome

I had both of my total knee replacements done by a surgeon (I don't want a mention his name). I just did not do well. They hurt, I couldn't do a lot of things I wanted and my husband was driving me crazy about seeing another surgeon. I went to a couple of surgeons that looked at it, couldn't figure out what was wrong and they all said "Go to Dr. Siegel." Thank god I did! He was wonderful. He was not only sweet but fixed both of my knees and I'm could not be happier. I have sent other friends from church to him and they have not stopped thanking me. He is very busy, so you need to bring something to read.

If I could give him no stars I would. Don't trust him to save your life if you have an infection in a joint. My dad is dead because of this doctor. He did absolutely NOTHING to treat my dad's hip infection for 13 days & then ignored dangerous blood test results and reports from the home health care nurse.

First I would like to commend Dr. Herrick Siegel for his expertise as a Orthopedic Oncologist. He is at the very top of his profession. However he needs to realize what a great disservice he is doing to his patients. I have carried my elderly mother-in-law for two appointments. On both occasions she was forced to wait for well over three(3) hours on each occasion before seeing Dr. Siegel. She was not alone. Please do not take this post as a reflection on the medical and surgical treatment Dr. Siegel provides. Thank you Dr. Siegal for taking care of the physical issues of my mother-in-law but please try to see from a patient standpoint of having to endure 3 1/2 hours of waiting. My husband was seen by Dr. Siegel after alternatives of amputation were presented to us by another major hospital group out of state. He is a very busy man, but ALWAYS knows accurate information about the patient condition and has produced something just short of a miracle for us. Absolutely no problems after my total hip replacement. Highly recommend Dr Siegel. UAB had great care after the surgery. I was walking without cane and walker within 10 days. Of course it also depends on the overall condition and health of each individual, however, in my case I had a very fast recovery.

We could not be more pleased with all the surgeries Dr Seigle did. My husband is doing great with no problems. I know so many people who have had joint replacements done over but that is something we don't have to worry about. He is an excellent doctor.

Dr Siegel is absolutely the best. Unbelievable surgeon and just a blessing. Very talented surgeon.

I had 5 surgeries done on my knee before I finally got referred to the master. SIEGEL can fix it. It’s a long wait so bring a book. He’s fast but really great. Fixed my bad knee and I’m back to my life where I left off

Getting an appointment is tough buto well worth the delay. Had new hip replacement. Fantastic surgery. Had me up and walking same day. Fantastic staff. Great food for a hospital.

I was highly impressed with the facility and the office staff, but very disappointed in the actual visit with Dr. Siegel. He came highly recommended, but my visit fell far below my expectations. While there, I had an additional five x-rays along with the information and test I already had from a previous orthopedist. Dr. Siegel spent 3 minutes with me, never once examining me or explaining results of the new xrays. I will never go back. Was treated like I was invisible.

I read the reviews and was surprised by the two reviews of a 1. I have been seeing another doctor for my knee for over a year at Andrews Sport Medicine. I felt like a number among thousands. My appointment with Dr. Siegel was a 4 month wait. I felt comfortable with him from the moment he came in and introduced himself. I felt he took time to explain what my options were and what he felt would be the best treatment for me. I Made the decision he will do my knee replacement.

Phenomenal surgeon... Extremely hard to get into see, but well worth the wait. He fixed by of my total knees that another surgeon messed up. His whole team did a great job!

Excellent surgeon be prepared to wait he is in high demand it takes two to three months till surgery is performed. But it's worth the wait

Dr Siegel appears to be a very rushed orthopedic doctor you will sit in his waiting room for hours and he will maybe spend 10 to 30 seconds with you. He does not seem to be that caring and I would not recommend any one going to him if you are planning on talking to him or having questions when he feels he does not need to talk to you . He will make you feel very uncomfortable. I do not recommend him at all. Also I feel that his staff is very unorganized'
