By far the WORST doctors office I HAVE ever encountered. The Staff is heartless, rude, and ONLY cares about you paying. Edmundson thinks he's a preacher, not a doctor. He either knows what the staff is up to, or doesnt, Im not sure which is worse. I have been over charged numerous times, had my meds Held for MONTHS because of a simple CC error, and was charged for an appt I missed, because i was in a CAR ACCIDENT!. FINALLY I called these people out, and OF COURSE they stopped seeing me. I guess you should see this man, if theres absolutely no other choice

This man from 1 visit diagnosed my 75 year old mother with ADHD after she has battled depression for many years. He refused to prescribe her her anti depressants she was on for over 20 years and gave her a med for ADHD which severely lowered her BP. She called the office and left messages asking for help multiple times, no response. She spiraled further into depression because shortly after, my father fell ill. She begged for her antidepressants back and instead of helping her they sent her a letter ending the doctor/patient relationship. For 5 months now my mom has been mentally unstable and in a very unhealthy mental state due to the incompetence of this man. If you care about yourself or a loved one keep your distance.

I was in Dr Edmundsons office for the last time today. I feel great relief just expressing that. My experience is that the staff were always accommodating and kind to me. The doctor however was equally unkind and rude to the staff as he was to me. The tests he runs are very good and sometimes I can look beyond the eccentricity of the doctor and surmise that the ends justify the means. This doctors behavior toward his senior citizen patient was truly beyond the pale. I am nearly 70 years old and was shocked at his disrespect when addressing me. He actually told me to be quiet and treated me like I was a toddler You are not allowed to talk or ask questions. HE asks the questions and you must answer with as few words and are not allowed to elaborate on anything. He is condescending and plain rude. If I would have had the chance to explain some of the symptoms I have been having I may have been able to avoid the very expensive testing that we did today. $45.00 copay for dr visit. Then the 20% that my insurance did not pay for the testing amounted to $125.00. That means my tests were over $600. I had asked before my testing, what the max could run In dollars. I was told typically around $100. NEVER over $200 and was reminded that my portion would only be 20% of that Today my 20% was $125. Smh I can not believe this dr has one patient left. My advice is run. There are to many choices out there you don’t have to put up with this. I’m calling Medicare about the charges as well. It is wrong to take advantage of people like that smh

Recently seen by this doctor, and first impression was skeptical, only due to his approach. Let me say this, be patient. He has a mind like a steel trap, and captures what is truly important to understanding your health condition. He doesn’t coddle, but seriously wants to get to the correct diagnosis for you as a patient!!

I went with my 19 y/o daughter fully expecting to (because I’m mom and my daughter “needed” me) go back with her. NO! My child LOVES the Dr. She explained to me that he is direct, has a dry sense of humor but he wants to get to the root of the issue. This was her first appointment and we were not informed of what might occur during the exam, appointment. Long story short… pack your patience because the Dr allows time for each patient/their testing and questions. We were there for over 3 hours. Yes… he does run behind BUT he told my daughter that at the end of this appointment so that she could prepare for her next visits. Perhaps they need to reconsider their 15 minute policy regarding tardiness. Personally, knowing this now, we will take work/etc to focus on during the wait. The office staff was polite (the mask policy is a bit assassin) but if that is what the Dr requires then so be it. I will be making my initial appointment soon.

I took my mother to see Dr. Edmundson and it was a terrible experience from the moment we walked in the door. The front office area was disorganized and not welcoming at all. Dr. Edmundson refused to allow me in the room while he examined my mother, this seemed odd. My mother became scared at his suggestion and started to cry. I had to reassure her and tell her we would find a different doctor. Needless to say, we left! It was a big waste of time.

Please do not go there! I have seen a lot of Medical doctors in my life, furthermore I am a health professional and dealing with patients all day long. Let me be direct.. I never ever saw such a rude, arrogant and abusive doctor in my whole life. As new patient he did not let me talk or explained my situation, told me that I only have to say yes or no to his questions and if I don’t like it I can see another doctor!! Every time I wanted to explain how o feel he was “ SHUSHING ME” !!!!!! His head is extremely big for his shoulders and someone need to burst this bubble head .. I was not even diagnosed and he ordered some test for Migraine that was not even related to my visit and I am not bothered by migraine headache! Please don’t waste you time nor your money for this doctor!

On May 25, our initial visit with Dr. Edmundson, he ran over an hour late to see my wife, who is experiencing short-term memory loss. He prescribed a mild mood elevating drug and ordered blood tests to be done and told us we needed to come back on June 9. At eleven on June 9th, the first words out of the receptionist's mouth as we checked in were, "Okay, it'll be $3750 for today's tests." We hadn't been informed of ANY additional tests beyond the may 25 bloodwork. We expected Dr. Edmundson to (1.) inquire as to how my wife was reacting to the recently prescribed medication and (2.) tell us what the blood tests revealed. The receptionist called a nurse who said Dr. Edmundson would not even see my wife that day. It would be a day of undergoing 5 different types of tests. that presented a problem. My wife is a diabetic. She had injected a dose of insulin at 8:15 that morning that would last until 2:15 p.m. At 2:15 p.m. she would need another dose to maintain acceptable blood sugar levels. Neither the doctor, nor any member of his staff had informed us that the June 9 visit might be a long one. Thinking she would be home well before 2:15 p.m., my wife had not brought additional syringes or insulin with her. We chose to leave without having the tests done.

I've been seeing Dr. Edmundson since around 2013, and I can say for certain that he's a compassionate and knowledgeable doctor. He frequently asks about my state of mental health in relation to the medications he prescribes me and is respectful and non-judgmental in both his analysis and questioning. Dr. Edmundson is also flexible and tries to work with my situation re. appointments. Some reviews say that they did not like his demeanor or opinions, but as a medical professional, it's his job to ask questions and offer an educated and professional opinion, which at times may not align with the patient's views; in my experience, he has never crossed the line and is always helpful. As for the timeliness of his appointments, there are often lengthy waits, but I wouldn't necessarily attribute that to malice as other reviewers have. Sometimes a string of late patients can progressively delay later appointments. In any case, I've always gotten my time with Dr. Edmunson and never felt rushed.

I scheduled one of the first visits of the morning, but the day before was confused if it was 8:15 or 8:30. The hours are not listed on the website so I called. The phone system says they open at 8:30. I also left a message to confirm my copay would be $50, which I have a voicemail of them confirming. I was running 5 minutes late, so I arrived at 8:35ish. First, my copay was going to be just under $300. I was shocked to hear this after confirming. Second, my appointment was for 8:15 and they had a 15 minutes late policy which I was over. So they said I could wait and they would try to squeeze me in. I waited for 45 minutes and was brought back to a room where the nurse took my vitals. I was then brought back out to the waiting room. 30 minutes later I was told there wasn't room for me today. I am so upset by how the whole thing was handled and I saw the Dr. for a brief second when he told me "no we actually open at 8:00". The entire staff was rude and dismissive. Avoid at all costs.

TL;DR - I've been a patient of Dr. Edmundson since December 2012. He is truly the most compassionate and validating medical doctor that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I have referred many friends, colleagues and family members to Dr. Edmundson for care over the years, including my father and brother, and not one them has had a negative experience. It was suggested by my family doctor that I be evaluated for ADHD in my early 20s. Growing up in the 90s and 2000s, there was (and maybe still is) a stigma regarding ADHD due to misdiagnosing, over-prescribing and abuse. I had many friends who resented their families and physicians for the years of their childhood which they felt were stifled by Ritalin and Adderall, so I was a skeptic. Thanks to countless hours of reading reviews and personal accounts on psychiatric forums, I found dozens of patients discussing their experience with a neurologist in Houston who should be considered a leader in the field for his work with this disorder. Enter Dr. Edmundson. First, his assessment was extraordinarily thorough. I was deeply concerned with being misdiagnosed and wanted to be evaluated by someone who used more than a simple questionnaire. This started with an initial interview of sorts. We discussed my childhood, educational background, family life, and a psychological "test" to get an idea of attentiveness before determining whether further testing was warranted. A TOVA test and EEG were then scheduled to form a more complete picture. After all was said and done, he took great care to explain his findings, how it impacted my life and what it all meant for me going forward. I felt confident in Dr. Edmundson's diagnosis and hopeful for the future. Fast forward 9 years, and I can honestly say that this man literally changed my life for the better. While I am disappointed in myself for taking so many years to seek help, I feel blessed to have found a doctor who cares so much for people and their well-being. I wouldn't trust anyone else. My advice is to take ratings with a grain of salt. The feedback on traditional review aggregators even 10 years ago wasn't pretty. That being said, I hope that most people understand that reviews only tell a small part of the story. I think that this is even more important when it applies to a medical professional who works with neurological disorders requiring complex diagnoses. Moreover, one who works with disorders that involve treatment with medications which come with a high risk for abuse. Personal accounts and discussions on forums have more weight, in my opinion, because the open and engaged dialogue naturally weeds out anyone without merit wishing to unfairly discredit a business/professional. I was having horrible debilitating headaches and was referred to Dr. Edmundson. All the questions/testing was done in a manner so as to understand what is happing within the cognitive process. Quick fire questions and numerous tests EEG/MRI. His process is efficient and pragmatic. Fantastic Dr. and obviously bright and really wants what is best for the patient. Communicates well and explained what was happening to me clearly and simply so that I could understand the complex neurological problem. Let Dr. E finish his analysis first then ask questions. I say this because I had several questions in the beginning, all but one were answered after his process. Updated: I am functioning at a much better level now. I had an appoint with Dr. Edmundson and I can see how his style might be misinterpreted as abrupt but that is not what is going on in the appointments. The rapid-fire questions are part of the test for neurological issues. Remember cognitive processing issues must be tested by some manner. The direct manner of getting back to the point is time efficient and utilitarian by nature. I believe he is very bright and competent. I think he did a good job.

No phone or any ext. is ever answered In this office in over a month! This doctor ordered several tests but they have to be approved by my Medicare Advantage Plan who have called his authorization girl at least 6 times to have them faxed. I have also called and left msgs about 12-15 times. Stay away! This MD is extremely arrogant and impersonal. ******** Edit/Update: I wrote a review a month ago singing Dr. Edmunson’s praises. That still stands. However, his staff/nurse/admin is, well, not. Poor (no) communication, constant pharmacy mistakes, and more. Keeping the five stars for doc, but whew his staff makes me consider switching offices about once a quarter. ********* Dr. Edmunson has been my neurologist for the last two years. Until I'd met him, I'd spent 39 years struggling to function and 19 years feeling guilty about being "dependent" on pharmaceuticals. Dr. Edmunson not only opened my ears and eyes about my condition, but he did so in an intensely interpersonal way. He carefully walked me through the biology of my challenges, and I feel very empowered. I've had many doctors over the years, and I typically dreaded going to see them. Rather than bark a bunch of doctor's orders, Dr. Edmunson always seems to meet me right where I am (I hope this makes sense). If you are looking for a revolving door of untethered pharmaceuticals, I doubt Dr. Edmunson is for you. However, if you want a long term relationship with a doctor who is equal parts understanding and caring; this is your guy. ******** Edit/Update: … More

Dr. Edmundson is one of those doctors you either Love or hate. #1 If you've been referred, just go and follow the simple rules. #2 Listen first. Dr. Edmundson has positively changed our lives. The words are hard to find to describe the feeling of being heard, being taken seriously, having complete trust in someone and living healthy and happy. I truly believe any issue with this gentleman must stem from a misunderstanding. If you are seeking answers, trust his process. Dr. Edmundson is very thorough. Tips for getting what you want/need fast: Plan ahead and make those first one or two appointments with him your priority. Allow time for possible testing he may require. Come in with an open heart and mind. Answer out loud (no shrugging, etc) and speak clearly. If you feel there is something you wanted to share that has not been heard, it will come. At the end of any meeting with him he will ask you how you feel about what you all have discussed and he will ask if there is anything else you want to talk about or circle back to. Dr. Edmundson is excellent with children too. My daughter was 8 when she had her new-patient appointment. He spoke directly to her and to my surprise, he had her speaking up and giving a clear description of her struggles and what she wanted help with. I went with it and trusted him, as I am a patient too and knew what to expect. I love that after his conversation with her and the physical exam, he thanked her for being so helpful and then asked me if there were things I would like to add. This doctor is there for the right reasons. I completely believe he is happiest when he knows he has helped improve a patients wellbeing. Dr. Edmundson has positively changed our lives. Doctor Edmundson was able to give me an accurate diagnosis, however the office is extremely hard to contact, and insist that you use the online portal. Messages sent often fail, and you have to try many times to reach anyone. There is also an admin fee that the office does not inform you about, but expect you to pay.

Horrible experience. Took my recently turned 18 year old in and was told it was the doctor’s policy to only have one person in the room. Typically people take a second person into appointment to ensure all the information is received and questions asked. Apparently the risk of others hearing or seeing the actions is a big risk. After sitting there for 2 hours, I went to speak with receptionist about being allowed back in to hear what the doctor had to say but she was asleep at the window. Wished I would of read the reviews first instead of getting a referral from primary care provider. Prior to turning in the new patient forms we made sure the release of information had me authorized. Buyer beware. I honestly want to find a way to cancel the copay. Horrible experience. Dr Edmundson is very nice and professional. But his staff of workers and nurses are incredibly difficult to work with. It is absolutely impossible to reach their office with questions. Will be waiting 4 days for a response with a solution that takes 3 minutes.

This was my first appointment with Dr. Edmundson. I recently had a hospital stay a month prior because I experienced stroke like systems. So, my PCP recommended I see a Neurologist. The Dr entered the exam room, he introduced himself and began to explain what type of Dr he was (which I knew this already). He then stated that I had to explain to him in 5 words or less the reason for my visit. I told him what I had to say would take more than 5 words. He responded that it would not. From then, I immediately got up and knew that I had to be seen by another Dr - a Dr who would actually LISTEN to what I had to say. I’m an adult and also a medical professional. I do not need to spoken to as if I were a child. Patients are to be heard and listened to in however many words that need to be used. This experience was juvenile, rude, and very disrespectful. Hopefully I can locate a Neurologist within the Memorial system that can actually listen and treat my health condition with decent “bed side” manners. The worst experience ever. Took forever to get an appointment and then We waited nearly an hour and a half after our appointment time for her to be called in to see the doctor. He refused to let me come in with my wife. He was so rude to her that she walked out minutes after he came into the exam room. He would only let her answer questions with one or two or three words and refused to listen to anything she said so she left. My wife has been an R.N. With a BSN for 53 years and has never been treated like that by any physician. The worst experience ever. Was referred here by my primary care doctor to get tested for ADD & Dyselxia. Had to come 3 times. First was spent just talking to Dr Edmondson. He interrupted me multiple times and told me my answered were incorrect. Second time was to actually get tested, I was there for 4 hours. I was then prescribed 3 medications, all of which were very high dosage (higher than my dads. he has the same prescription, half the dose for one of the medications and hes twice my age & twice my size). Third time was a checkup. He was over an hour late from the time my appointment started, so I was already frustrated when he came in. He was then rude, interrupted me, cut me off. I told him my stomach has been hurting and he told me it was all in my head. I work in fitness and health, I eat very well - so I know the stomach issues were directly related to the medications. I was getting frustrated with how he talked to me and began crying. He asked me “what is your problem? is there a problem?” to which i told him “i feel like you’re talking to me like a child and it’s frustrating me”. He told me that i was projecting from my personal life and, again, it was all in my head. Does not listen to his patients. It’s also very hard to reach their office, every time i call, i’m on hold for over 10 minutes before I give up and hang up. They also will not refill your prescriptions unless you download their app and pay $10 every time you attempt to get a refill - when you already have to pay for your prescription at the pharmacy. The fact that there is even one bad review on here about this dr BLOWS MY MIND!!! This is the best dr I have ever went to to since I was diagnosed 12 years ago with A.D.D. Let me say that again....best doctor in 12 YEARS & I’ve seen sooo many drs for treatment. Dr Edmundson was the first one to actually get my dose/medication correct that worked for me. He explained how to take my medication properly (example he told me not to take it with citrus food & to take my vitamins at mid day versus the mornings so it didn’t counteract the efficacy of my medication). He was extremely thorough!! I work in the medical industry so I hold the standard of care of doctors to a high level. He surpassed all my expectations. He even stayed an hour after his clinic closed to help me while I was crying about my anxiety. I bet he has helped thousands of patients throughout his medical years but unfortunately the bitter ones are the ones that typically post. This doctor helped me in ways that completely turned my career, my personal life, and my self esteem around. Dr. Edmundson changed my life. I’m grateful I was sent to him. My father in law, my son, and my sister have used Dr. Edmundson over the last 15 years. Now this past week I have. He is EXCELLENT at diagnosing and recommending CORRECT solutions and is so very good at what he does. I don't understand these other reviews... When you have an office visit with him, expect that Dr. Edmundson is very analytical and attentive, but is fairly strict to keep you on the subject of what is pertinent to the diagnosis. Let him ask the questions that he needs to ask. He has been spot on every time we have needed him. It is a great relief to have a Neurologist like Dr. Edmundson, when you need one. I would not recommend Dr. Edmundson. He doesn't keep his appointments and has no respect for the patient time. He is at least and hour or more late ever time we had an appointment. He is very arrogant and not the least bit concerned that he inconvenienced his patient. I found out later after seeing another Dr. that he had prescribed an extremely strong dose of adderall and then wanted to blame my son for not taking it properly when his stomach couldn't tolerate the dosage.

Wonderful experience! I have been his patient for 10 years. Two of my children have seen him for over five years. Is he warm and fuzzy? No. Does he ask more pointed and direct questions than other doctors I have seen? Yes. Does he quickly redirect me when I started answering his questions in a roundabout way? Yes. Did he correctly diagnose and treat a condition that had plagued my life for years and that several other doctors misdiagnosed? Yes. If you want someone to hold your hand and say, “There, there, it will be alright.”, don’t show up. If you want someone who will take his time, not accept excuses, and diligently search for the best treatment, Dr. Edmundson is your guy.

There are other neurologists in the world. The last one you want to visit if your loved one is aging and having cognitive and other neurological decline is Dr. Edmundson. He is everything the "adjective" reviews say. I have a HIPAA form on file and come with my mother each year and they do not want to educate or listen to family members about symptoms. The dr himself told me the HIPAA form is "permission, not a requirement". That is technically true, but it speaks nothing to good care and professionalism. His staff also refuse to return phone calls left about symptoms when you have questions, directed by him not to. When they refused to let me go back to discuss new symptoms with dr, I asked if they could just make a copy of the symptoms I wrote down to show dr and they said no to that also. At that point, I said I would be filing a complaint with the board as she cannot remember all her symptoms and isn't aware of some of them. A long while later, the dr came out and got me, took me into a private room and closed the door, then name called me a "bully, aggressive, rude, and insistent" (all I did was the above) and said I was not to speak and when he allowed me to speak if he thought I was rude, he'd walk out. This guy has serious psychological issues. Controlling, domineering, and dismissive of family are the biggest. It is not normal for a doctor to refuse to see a patient's family when the patient has worsening cognitive symptoms and is diagnosed with a chronic disease that impacts cognitive, balance (she's fallen and broken bones, had stitches, etc. due to the decline), language (brief episodes of being unable to speak and word salad), etc. He doesn't want to discuss prognosis, what to expect, when to call due to symptoms worsening or new symptoms, etc. His attitude seems to be "none of your business until she's legally incompetent". Instead of leaving feeling my mother is in good hands, I left feeling gaslighted and confused, more concerned than ever, and not knowing what I can do to help my mom and what to look for or call about over the next year. (Normal things, by the way, to expect from a doctor who is treating the most pronounced symptoms your loved one has. Caregivers need to know what to expect, how to help, what to look for. That is world class care and helps the patient increase their quality of life and may lengthen it.) This is just not the doctor for anyone who values holistic family care during a loved one's sunset years in order to help them maintain the highest quality of life as possible. There is no point in trying to reason with him or his staff. It is a toxic environment coming down from the top. Just believe your own intuition and experience and move on to someone else. No one needs this in their life when a loved one needs holistic, supportive, loving care and the family needs education and support to help them. P.S. He may be brilliant, he may know a ton about neurocognitive issues, but it is absolutely useless and unhelpful if he does not use that knowledge to help inform, educate, and empower the families and caregivers of his patients. That is the bottom line. You cannot go an entire two years like I did without getting more info and having to beg and plead for it. That is not conducive to meeting the needs of your loved one. And we will never get another chance to "do it over". We don't have time to waste on such ego-driven bravado.

Let me start by saying, it’s the worst experience we had with a doctor EVER. The appointment took too long to complete, but that is far from being the worst thing. The appointment was for my wife and she didn’t speak English very well, so I always help her. He walked in and didn’t say hello, he told me that doesn’t want me to speak at this point. I didn’t like that, but I thought he wanted to her from. But, I quickly discovered that he is very rude and careless. I stood up to see what’s he is doing. He got upset, he asked me to sit down (I felt like a first grade student) I refused and confronted him head on and refused to sit down. I told him “you are rude”. I asked him about the results of the test, he said “in due time”. I have let his nurse know how I feel about him. Don’t go to this place at all. His staff on the other hand is extremely incompetent to do their ONE job correctly to where they send out refills of medication completely wrong causing HUGE issues to be able to get my medication filled on time and correct each month leaving me without medication that I was told by him to NOT STOP TAKING just cold turkey as it has bad side effects to your system and can go into shock. UNBELIEVABLE!!

I’m a healthcare provider & since we shouldn’t always treat ourselves I found Dr. Ed. online. He’s about as understanding as Mr. Ed. And his staff might be worse. I waited for 2hrs on my 2nd appt. before I finally had to leave. His response was, “if you need a Dr who works on your schedule this is not the place for you. Let me know where to send your records.” Glad I left. Avoid this place like the plague. If you are his patient; there are much better docs out there. Drop this prideful poser.

They will not ever answer the phone. Ever. They will never call you back. My mom has been waiting for 2 weeks for a brain scan result. He never gave her a prescription, just free samples, so I cannot refill. Find any other neurologist's office.

I have worked in a hospital for 27 years in California and have worked around hundreds of doctors but never in my life experienced such horrible bed side manner as Dr Edmundson. He is arrogant, condescending, and just plain rude and obnoxious. I wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy. I really don't know how he stays in business but accepts workers comp, so that says it all. Think twice about going to this Dr unless you like being treated like a second class citizen.

Me and Dr. Edmundson have come to point I can't forgive he as much called me a liar when I told him what the MRI place said. He was not there when the conversation took place. I had an appointment today I was finally called back at 5:00 my appointment was for 3:15 and all he told me was my blood sugars are elevated I thought Dr. Edmundson was a neurologist not am endocrinologist he said that Dr. Jamal knows my history heck I've only seen him once how does he know my history, Dr. Edmundson did not even want to hear any of that as a matter of fact he didn't want to hear anything I got no results from the tests that have been done like the EEG and the Nerve tests or some kind of bull dung memory test where Huey luey and dewy where 3 out 4 of the answers they are Donald ducks nephews so they weren't the answers it is almost like an idiot test So the whole purpose of going to him was to get paid by the insurance company The visit never should have taken place Me and Dr. Edmundson have come to point I can't forgive he as much called me a liar when I told him what the MRI place said. one star because I cannot give zero stars. His office is incompetent at their jobs. They use a portal software to interact with clients. If the medicine is a controlled substance, you have request a prescription through the portal. They will CHARGE you for the prescription. Then you pay for the medicine at your pharmacy. For us, the portal never worked properly and his office staff is incompetent when it comes to assistance. No one knows how to navigate the portal outside their phone. Our son's medicine amount was changed and he wrote a new prescription with the old medicine dosage. Like I said, INCOMPETENT. We are still using him as we search for another doctor. one star because I cannot give zero stars. His office is incompetent at their jobs. They use a portal software to interact with clients.
