About Dr. Henry R Bloom
Reviews for Dr. Henry R Bloom
Dr. Bloom is extremely rude to patients. He does not have any compassion for his patients. He don’t let you get any words in and is very sarcastic. He is very rude!
When I first visited Dr. Bloom in the late 80s, he asked why I chose him as a physician. I replied, "Because your office is on the bus line"--which was true--but I've never regretted the decision. Over the years, Dr. Bloom has guided our family through some tough health issues. While I don't always take his good advice, he's been non-judgmental and it's a comfort to know that he's there in the event of a crisis. Plus I've always enjoyed his dry sense of humor.
I’m quite sure this practice was behaving in a way that borders on a scam during the time I utilized them. I felt that there were unnecessary tests / assessments done with the sole purpose of billing insurance company or patient paying out of pocket. Even if the practice was technically legal, it rubbed me the wrong way and had me guessing at the ethics of this office. Dr. Bloom was non-nonsense, direct, knowledgeable, and seemed committed to what he knew to be best for the patient.. I don’t need a cozy bedside manner in order to respect a doctor; but I wouldn’t participate in their patient charge scam and went elsewhere. This was a few years ago, but the current complaints match my experience here. I’m quite sure this practice was behaving in a way that borders on a scam during the time I utilized them. This Dr. shouldn’t be able to communicate with people directly or take some classes on people skills. This doctor is really rude doesn’t allow you to get in a word when conversing with him. When asking about extra information for my treatment options was over talked cut off and dismissed. I WOULD RECOMMEND GOING TO ANY DOCTOR BUT HENRY BLOOM! Talking to people in a kind manner is not his strong point even if medicine is! Seems like he is in a bad mood every time I visit ! Sick of it WONT BE BACK! It's true he doesn't suffer fools gladly., and he doesn't jump at every drug on TV. He does advise the safest and least damaging treatment first. I have been most grateful for his concern by visiting me in the hospital, confering with a specialest about me and insisting that I eat enough raw carrots. Old fashioned? Hmmm, maybe
I decided to give this doctor office a chance even after seeing all the horrible reviews. Like what one of them said about his older practices they were not wrong. Dr. Bloom does practice old medicine and I’m afraid that worries me so I decided to go with a newer route of medicine and scheduled an appointment with Cleveland Clinic. I will not be back. Must I mention I am going through the worst allergic reaction of my life due to old medicine. Also I did a follow up with Cleveland Clinics OBGYN it seems I have no infection of any and am in healthy condition. I felt like he was scamming me but was trying to believe he was acting in good faith. Good faith doesn’t get you far, so before going here please do your research with anything this man tells you because he could be trying to get you back in over and over just to get paid. Not a pleasant experience. Was very short with me the whole exam. He made a few snide remarks regarding my family's medical history I was only there because I needed my ADHD prescription refilled and it required me to go to the office. He was VERY dismissive of my needing it even though I told him that I had been on it for years and was struggling to focus and accomplish anything without it. He then wanted to give me a 1 month supply until I came back to see him. I was finally able to get him to give me the standard 90 day dose. I do not plan on going back Not a pleasant experience. Dr Bloom has taken good care of me and some family members for many years, but he has his own ways and they can be peculiar. He is very well read and knowledgeable of various studies and keeps up on new treatments and studies. He avoids fads and is very slow to prescribe certain drugs - a good thing to my mind. He is conservative in treatments. He used to schedule me to return too often, which I now ignore unless necessary. This was irritating.
In my experience, Dr. Bloom is a knowledgeable, attentive and caring physician who will go above and beyond in serving his patients.
Often too busy inputing into computer and doesn't listen. Curt and dismissive,. Doesn't remember certain tests completed or results from past testing. No longer trust his medical judgment and have moved to another doctor.
Absolute worst experience. Please stay away
Dr. Bloom scheduled 5 appointments with me within 4 months. This is not normal or necessary for a young and healthy person. I spent hundreds of dollars on unnecessary visits and tests scheduled by this Doctor. He does not care if your insurance doesn't cover the test, he'll run it. His secretary/LPN has an awful demeanor and almost never answers the phone. In fact, 9/10 times you try to call the office number, it is a busy tone or a dial-up internet tone. I would NEVER recommend going to him.
I appreciate Dr. Blooms no-nonsense approach to medical practice. He has been very thorough and vigilant with my care. 10/10 would recommend

Dr. Bloom should not even be allowed to say he is a doctor. He doesn't have an open mind to new drugs or any type of medical advancement. He holds my monthly ADHD medicine hostage from me, until I agree to see him for unnecessary testing. He also yelled at me for going to urgent care on a saturday and starting antibiotics for a UTI that was unbearable, because he is against giving any type of antibiotics. He also prescribed me antidepressants after I told him I was not depressed. He wanted me to take them instead of my ADHD medicine because he says, "ADD stems from depression". This was after he refused to write me my script for 15 xanec every 90 days. Which was what I was getting for the past few years from my pervious primary care. He also refused to give me ANY medicine for a yeast infection. He said, "Just keep eating lots of yogurt and it will go away on its own." This guy is the worst MD I have ever, in my entire life, have seen. DO NOT EVER WASTE YOUR TIME. If I had taken his medical advice, I would be walking around with a bladder infection, kidney infection, yeast infection, on antidepressants(one they invented 37 years ago, FYI) and no ADHD medicine (I am a medical graduate student, being able to focus is detrimental to my life), This guy needs his license taken away before he kills someone.
