Dr. Helen Feng

I never got to see Dr. Helen Feng; However, she has the most unprofessional, careless, rude, unorganized, sloppy, ignorant, and argumentative medical assistants I have ever seen. In addition, they have poor English comprehension. I called the office beginning of Dec 2022 and was given a phone appt for mid Jan 2023. I asked them to email me the applications in advance and let me know as soon as they received the report from referral physician. Application were sent 2 days before the appt, they never informed me that they never received the referral report. A good medical assistant asks the patient insurance information and medical record in advance to inform the client if they are contracted with that medical insurance company. These idiots did not perform their job and let me wait and waste my entire 2 months to find out a day before my appointment that Dr. Helen Feng is not contracted with my med insurance. My referral physician was very disappointed & apologized and discarded Dr. Helen Feng's business card in the trash and told me she won't send any patient to her office anymore. Just step back and look elsewhere for doctor's whose medical staff will treat you with the respect & the "World Class Customer Service."

Dr Feng is knowledgeable and very thorough! I trust her and have relied on her for many years. She doesn’t soft coat and I like her straightforwardness. The office gals are sweet and competent. They are second language and their English is far better than my Chinese!

Never heard such thing: I got a referral from my insurance but was told by the office to ask my primary care to change a billing code to get a higher pay. This was the first time I was told about chaning a billing code by a specialist office. I was told if I did not tell my primary care doctor to change the code. I cannot see her. Also, I was told the doctor would only call for the first visit and will not see the patient in-person yet. It is Feb 22, 2022and California already lifted covid mandate. It is unbelievable. very poor patient communication. Office staff is very unresponsive, unprofessional and uncooperative. office staff lack of knowledge. It was very hard to get even appointment. i had authorization for visit code as a new patient from my ortho. - 99204, but Dr. Feng office wants to bill 99205 which is highest complication and reimbursement. And that is very unfair to decide billing code even without seeing patient. And office people wants patient to contact insurance, other referring provider to ask them to change the code to 99205. This is very disappointing as a patient care.

I have seen this doc for 5 years for auto-immunsystem disease and changed to another doc last year. Based on my experience, Dr. Feng liked to use aggressive medication unnecessarily, and tried to recommend different strong and expensive medication to me every time. After I told my new doc the medication I am using, my new doc was astonished and told me that those strong (with serious side-effect) pills were not necessary for my case at all and those side-effect will hurt my health badly when I am in senior ages (though not now). Dr. Feng asked me to see her and do lab work every 3 months but my new doc only asks me to see him once a year and lab work every 6 months. Now I am only using very light medication and control my disease very well. Therefore, I am not recommending this doc. Very professional, answered all of my questions.

I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Feng. She is knowledgeable, hands-on and goes the extra mile to make sure you get any and every care you might need. I find Dr. Feng easy to talk to and I never feel rushed. She has a no-frills office and the gals are pleasant and helpful. Dr. Feng and her staff have always made me feel I’m in good hands. Dr. Feng has even called me later in the evening to check up on me! I’m thankful my PCP referred me to her??

My worst arrogant doctor fears realized. In vulnerability, I made a confession to this doctor, something I was afraid to bring up and is relevant to my care. I stressed out over it before going in, because I didn't want to get yelled at and labeled. Sure enough, she taunted and shamed me for not having told my primary care doctor. As I tried to explain why I did not feel safe with that doctor, and point out that was *why I was coming to her*, she shut me down. Worst of all, she shut me down by throwing out the stigma of mental illness. "These women commit suicide with [X]!" and as I sat there speechless, "You don't want to die that way, honey," as if I was actively trying to do it. I certainly was not. If a doctor is quick to assume I have serious mental issues, it stifles communication, locks me into a defensive position, and undercuts our entire relationship. One is the best doctor I have visited. Patient and knowledge.

Dr. Feng is one of the most knowledgeable doctors in the Bay Area on treating auto-immune diseases, such as RA.

This crazy money hungry doctor (Feng) should be eliminated from the profession for fraud and malpractice. My mother's 80 y/o, and had complaints of aches and pains especially in her legs when walking. She is not active, so atrophy of leg muscles seems reasonable. Without even an X-RAY, Dr. Feng firmly stated that she needed TWO full hip replacements. I was appalled...and said "show me one shred of medical proof, an x-ray of the hip deterioration or damage, that would require two major surgeries on an 80 y/o patient". Dr. Feng said "Well, the cutoff for having hip surgery is 85 y/o, and she's 80, so she might as well have it done". Again, I said I wanted medical proof that she needed hip surgery. The doctor stated "well, she's 80 and she has pain". Arrogant tiger woman...AMA, investigate this crooked doctor.

Dr Feng is an amazing Rheumatologist from her welcoming manner to her comprehensive knowledge. She takes time to ensure that her patients understand the diagnosis and options for care. I highly recommend her as she has positively impacted my quality of life. When I first began seeing her the pain and inflammation from RA was excruciating and left me with very limited mobility. I’m walking up the stairs again as well as daily walks with very little pain. Thank your Dr. Feng!

Horrible customer service. You can't call to schedule an appointment because they never answer the phone. They just tell you to leave a message. They aren't too busy to answer a phone. Quite simply they are lazy and do not care for the patient. An example of this is their hours. They are only open Monday-Thursday?! I wish I had a job where I worked only 4 days a week with hour long lunches and never had to answer calls. Patients with RA have to see 2-3 other doctors before they even reach an RA diagnosis. To top it off by being sick and dealing with tons of doctors we are now subject to an office who make it impossible to speak to a representative. What a sad sad joke this is. I truly appreciate the help and the care Dr. Feng provide to me over many years. I have tried different rheumatology doctors all over the world without much success, but now, I can say, Dr. Feng has changed my life. No more pain, no more restless nights, and my back feels young again! I would definitely recommend Dr. Feng to anyone who suffers from scoliosis. You don’t need to suffer anymore go see Dr.Feng. Very personable and professional. Went for a consult for psoriatic arthritis. I felt very comfortable with Dr Feng's recommendations. She took her time answering my questions. No frills office. Efficient staff. Great experience.

I highly doubted the ability and knowledge of this doctor. During every visit, just ask the same questions again and again. She seems not be able to remember what happened during the last visit. Same question, again and again.

I only met with Dr. Feng once, and I really liked her. But her staff leaves much to be desired. Difficult to schedule appointments, difficult and cold to speak with (as soon as i entered office they didnt even ask my name, just said "insurance card!"), called my emergency contact number to schedule my next appointment, and told me several times if the doctor wanted to see me she would call me. The fact that i was concerned about poor bloodwork was irrelevant.

Doctor feng is very good, she prescrive you the best medication she thinks is best for you!. She send you to take all kind of lab tess to make sure is not just a rheumatology deseas. She listen to you and both try to figure out what is best for you... If she do not know something she send you to a specialist..
