A very caring and dedicated physician.

My experience was good. Dr. Mena is very professional with a very knowledgeable staff.

I found Dr Mena very efficient and cordial. He listened to my issues and provided information and treatment for my needs.

Very thorough exam that covered all my issues and concerns. Met a wonderful doctor (Dr.Patterson) working alongside Dr. Mena who also was thorough and very professional in her interactions with me.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. This was the worse, most disappointing doctor's office visit I have ever experienced in my entire life. His nonchalant demeanor was unwelcoming and made it very difficult for me to voice my concerns without his rebuttals to make me feel as though my symptoms were invalid. If I could not "show him" any signs of my symtoms, they were disregarded as if I were making them up. How do you show internal pain? This visit was rushed and a waste of a co-pay. Next time I will research the doctor I am referred to before wasting time on an unsuccessful visit, which has only left me feeling more confused than before. All of the doctor's told me I needed to see a rheumatologist just for him to refer me back to all of the other doctors. Search for a rheumatologist who cares about your concerns! I am unsure how he has 5 stars on some of these reviews! If I could give less than 1 star I would. He always help with any issues I have. I like him a lot. He has worked with me for 21 years.

Dr. Mena and his staff are very sensitive to my needs. After reviewing and updating recent testing and the progress of my unresolved issues, he concisely explains the medical evidence that supports his advice regarding any contemplated further testing or treatment. I feel very fortunate to trust him fully with my medical care and to be able to rely on his considered and balanced judgment.

I really liked Dr Mena he was very good to me and took time to help me understand what is going on with my heath. I appreciate his good care and kindness.

I was a first time patient with a family history of arthritis. He was not thorough with understanding my medical history, not receptive to questions, and I felt rushed. He addressed my acute issue only. I left feeling shorted on learning about what caused my problem, how to prevent flare ups, and how to take care of/what to expect for my future joint health. Dr. Mena was very good and getting to the point and getting the ball going so that he can find the problem. I would totally recommend Dr Mena!

I saw Dr. Mena for a 2 month checkup. I have osteoporosis and not on any prescribed medication. Dr. Mena ordered a new medication and hope it will be approved. The last 3 meds ordered for me were denied.

Great doctor!!

Dr. Mena has been my doctor for 20 years he listens to my concerns regarding my health and I trust his medical opinion.

I am always impressed how everyone is always so organized and how everything moves so quickly. I like the time that is spent with my doctor so I don’t feel rushed.

Dr. Mena is my primary doctor because I can communicate with him easily in Spanish and I trust his medical opinion.

Doctor was very thorough and took his time with me; however, I was never contacted with my blood work results. I went on MYCHART and tried to google and figure it out on my own.

Unwilling to listen or help.

Worst doctor visit I’ve ever had. Saw resident doc 30 minutes and they were attentive and caring. Dr. Mena came in, asked no questions, condescended toward me, didn’t explain what was happening, told me to go see another doctor and that he couldn’t fix it, and then told me to go to the lab to get bloodwork which he didn’t explain what it was for. No. He acted like I was a bother to him. Barely let me get questions out. I had to drag info from him. Not a pleasant demeanor

Friendly staff. Dr. Mena was knowledgeable and straight to the point.

Very good visit. He wants to know what problems you are having; assessment done; he go over all your lab results. Order lab test. He see if you need refills. He is very particular about your health. I am pleased with my service

Very poor visit. I was referred to this specialist by four physicians who thought I need to see him. He acted as if I was referred to him for no reason. Basically saying why was I there for today's visit. Very disheartening and I have decided to walk away from the clinic as a whole after this encounter. I am still having the same issues and symptoms that garnered the referrals I received. Yet no answer. I feel like I have wasted plenty of money and time to end up with the definitive answer.

I could not be more disappointed. After waiting for an hour in the patient room, Doctor Mena and his resident entered the room. Mena immediately left. The resident took a very detailed history. He was great. Mena disregarded everything that was discussed. Mena ordered tests that had nothing to do with the issues. Then decided that was the extent of what he was going to do. I had to be referred to another rheumatologist. I’ve never been so ignored by a doctor before. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s not a real doctor at all (someone please check his credentials). That’s how bad his treatment of my care was. I am leaving this review so that others don’t waste their energy (which you most likely have little of if you’re seeing a rheumatologist) and see someone else. Any other rheumatologist would do a better job with your care. Disappointed doesn’t cover the experience. Don’t waste your time with Mr. Mena. I could not be more disappointed. When I go to Dr Hector Mena'office I always get professional good care everything explained to me that I understand what's going on with me documenting is excellent doctor I wouldn't see anyone else as well as the staff.

I have been a patient of Dr. Mena and the Clinic for decades. In fact, he has been our physician for three generations. I would not see any other but him _ he is almost part of the family.

If you have anything, even if it’s not medical related, if you share it with them they will try to find the appropriate information to help you resolve the matter. I have been seeing Dr Mena for about two years. He is a great listener. He takes his time and addresses all your complaints. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

So far so good. He recommended me for physical therapy on my lower back. I will start this week. He listened very carefully. Asked questions, gave his opinions.

Great visit. Very analytical. Asked great questions. Dug deep. Found the answer that no other doctor had His fellow Doctor, doctor Patel, did a great job of digging deep into my health history A1. Both of them I had seen 8 doctors looking for the cause of my maladies. Only Patel and Mena found the cause

Was first seen by a young PA or Med student. He made me feel humiliated about my weight. I was there for reasons beyond my weight, but he kept staring at my stomach and referring back to my weight about everything. Dr. Mena did not seem interested in why I was there. I was referred to his office by my Primary Care. I would not recommend nor will I ever return to his office.

Dr Mena asked questions and showed concern. Made recommendations to help you.

Dr. Mena takes a significant amount of time learning the patient's history and answering patient questions. He is never hurried. He takes detailed notes and explains not only the disease process but also the treatment options very clearly for the patient. I recommend him highly.

I was late because of traffic so it was understandable that I had to wait a while to see him since he had other patients but when I tried to explain why I was having problems and with what I was having them with he really condescending about the whole thing and dismissive about my symptoms and his attitude towards me basically told me he thought I was being over dramatic about my pain when I wasn’t I don’t know if he was having a bad day or what but my appointment was horrible with him.

I have been dealing with pain in my joints for over a year and have seen multi doctors about it and Dr. Mena is the ONLY that really listened to my story and has started the diagnosis. When I left his office I FINALLY felt assured that we are now on the right path to stabilizing my condition.

1. He took a physical ex. for me because I have not seen him for one year. 2. He is open mind to my alternative therapy.(I am a Taiwanese, we have many kinds of treatments for SLE. 3. He noticed my weight loss d explored the reasons,(hight ketone diet) d mention me don’t lose more. 4. He asked some messages of TaIwan to make the atmosphere relaxed. I appreciated that.

I always enjoy my visits with Dr.Mena. He is a blessing to my needs.

Dr. Mena is an extremely thorough doctor. He listens and that’s a rare trait for doctors today! I have never felt rushed and certainly never been treated any way other than professional. Granted, he is a no nonsense professional. He is strictly business with no room for chitchat. I like Dr Mena and drive 140 miles to see him and will continue to do so! Excellent. He took his time to listen to my lengthy medical history and all the medications I have tried. He ordered xrays on the spot and kept a spot open for me to come back after the xrays. We reviewed the xrays together. I could not be more pleased with the level of care.

He was rude, argumentative about changing his gloves and he mumbled incessantly. He was late to work and he felt I ( a new patient) should reschedule even though I was already there. He has zero bedside manner and extremely callous regarding my concerns

The scheduler was very rude to me. I had to speak to her supervisor. Dr. Mena’s nurse was mediocre at best. Dr. Mena himself was fine. He took time with me & then I had an appointment with an orthopedic Dr. Dr. Mena had told me to get back in touch with his office after I saw the orthopedic which I did. Dr Menas nurse said she did not have info from the orthopedic. I waited several days & Dr Menas nurse told me the same thing. I asked if she could look on my record & she said no, it had to be faxed. It’s been a week & still no medicine from Dr Mena. I’m going to try & see another Arthritis doctor at this point..

De. Mena has been treating my Mom for over 20 years. I got involved in her care over the last two years and I cant say enough about the genuine care and attention he gives. He pays attention like no other.

Staff was very helpful and very time efficient. They were very attentive to me. However, my opinion of Dr Mena is not a very good opinion. But because of his age, and his years of being a doctor. I don't feel as if a very descriptive explanation of the examination would make much of a difference. Overall, not a terrible opinion of the visit. But not a very good one.
