Dr. Harry Russell Burger

Condescending, uninterested in findings from other physicians, cut me off mid-sentence several times to tell me that I was "wrong" about my medical issue, then he prescribed without telling me the exact medication I told him I cannot take. He seems to think he knows better than everyone without even performing an exam.

Absolutely LOVE Dr. Burger and his fantastic staff. Couldn't be more happy with his treatment medically and his respectful ways. He picks the most amazing nurses and nursing assistants who are friendly, polite and go above the call of duty to make sure you are taken care of. Thank you so much for being who you are!!! I see Dr. Burger when he is in Edgewood's clinic during the weeks rotation and he is AWESOME! he is through, he never under minds you, nor does he have an ill bedside manner like a lot of Doctors, especially with his experience!!! Thank you DR. Burger Your my favorite Doctor, Nicest too!!-Nicole D

Dr. Burger talked about me well within ear shot to two medical students in his office. He was more upset that I went to another physician for a follow up instead of him when my appointment was cancelled by the office twice- unprofessional and humilated

Husband (30's) went in with acute, crippling abdominal pain. The doctor did order blood tests and an ultrasound, everything was inconclusive. He wanted to then order a full endoscopy and colonoscopy. Insurance denied because not all the simple tests had been taken. He then told my husband to just wait and didn't think of anything else and did not seem to care at all. He shrugged off all of my concerns and questions (could this be a UTI issue? Pain doesn't always radiate in the exact area, could it be muscular, kidneys etc.) He just said to come back if it happens again. Fast forward husband ends up in the emergency room out of town. Within an hour blood test, urine tests and CT scan showed kidney stones. Before any of the tests the DR who also got on the phone with me to ask his health history, symptoms etc, said he believed it to be kidney stones. DR Burger failed to do a simple urine test for a very common issue that can cause the pain my husband was experiencing.

I should have looked at all of the poor reviews first. There aren't many choices out here. He seemed okay at first but then it turned out he was incapable of doing anything but referring you to someone else. Unfortunately his staff couldn't even get that right. He doesn't respond to prescription refill requests, his staff won't return phone calls and he's unwilling or unable to fill out the simplest of insurance forms. Hands down the worst "doctor" I have ever seen.

Very nice person, but the office really is incompetent. I am currently in advanced withdrawals from my medications. This is the third time in as many months. I have faithfully attended monthly recheck appointments only to be unable to get my medications refilled. I call the office multiple times when I need refills. They say it will get done, and nothing. I saw Dr. Burger in April 2017 and I am still living with the horrible results of a drug he prescribed for a simple UTI. Should have known not to take anything from him when he would not listen to me about my history and told me "The human body needs only two things, drugs or surgery". My BP was so high from the infection that I really should have gone to the hospital to get it down. He acted like it wasn't all that bad and gave me a prescription for BP meds. Refused physical with him.

The only good thing I can say about him is that he is probably trying to do what he thinks is a good job. I had an annual exam appointment with him. He wouldn't listen to what I had to say and basically told me to shut up a couple times. I had a couple lab results that were not normal but I have a long history of those results being normal. When I tried to show him those results, he got angry with me. He wanted me to take a permanent medication based on temporary results. He was very very rude.

Did not listen to anything I said and prescribed medications for me that I had already told him I couldn't take. He was more interested that I had had breast cancer 11 years ago than what I had come to see him for. He told me I had bronchitis and prescribed a medication that several doctors since have told me is not appropriate to treat bronchitis. Went to another doctor who found out I had A-fib and told me to go to the Heart Hospital ER. It turned out I also had pneumonia. Would not recommend!

I liked Dr. Burger. I am concerned with New Mexico Medical and their lack of coordinating care as well as lack of follow-up. There is no way to leave messages for the MA for Dr. Burger, and to order tests without the prerequisite paperwork (i.e. dr. notes), is not something that a patient would know how to do. I should have an appointment scheduled with no further worry on my part that the paperwork was taken care of in order for me to see the specialist.

Dr Burger Is Very Unprofessional And Rude Ordered Unnecessary Labs And Wasted My Time And Money Will Not Be Seeing Him Again!!!

Unnecessary labs ordered, no hands-on physical exam done to evaluate my complaint. Didn't have a lot of confidence in Dr Burger.
