Dr. Harold Perl

Horrible!!! Worst doctor ever! Called me at home to tell me to make my way to the hospital to say my goodbye’s to my 2 weeks old baby in the NICU. My baby was in fact ok. The night before my son was due to be discharged he changed his formula without consulting his medical chart, which clearly stated he was protein sensitive, making my son incredibly ill. Then submitting him to enema’s, xrays and all kinds of test. Once he was finally off my sons service the following neonatologist changed his formula that night and his symptoms began to go away. Within 24 hours he was back to normal. But, because of all the invasive tests and the episode with the formula they had to keep him for 2 more weeks. Very condescending, no empathy for the tiny babies he treats.

GREAT! He saved my babies life.

Dr. Perl may be a somewhat knowledgeable doctor but he has no empathy for the babies he treats. My daughter suffered terribly in his care. As she was being suctioned after the inside of her nose becoming raw from the CPAP machine, he laughed that the blood and tissue looked like chicken parmesan. She was only 4 pounds and hysterically crying in intense pain. I find out later good NYC hospitals don't even perform this procedure. I only hope this doctor gets a taste of his own medicine.
