Quick, efficient

Dr. Loewenstine and all the staff and nurses were very professional and took very good care of me. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Loewenstine is one of best doctors that I have ever been to. He is a very thorough and pleasant person to be around. He was referred to me by another doctor which meant a lot to me because Dr. Loewenstine was his doctor.

I would love to leave a great review but in my case I simply can’t. I can’t really leave a review for the doctor. I spoke with him during an office visit for less than 5 mins. He ordered a colonoscopy for me. Neither him nor his staff explained anything to me, and I have never had one before. His nurse was extremely rude to me in person and when we called to cancel the procedure. I had no idea what prep to buy. No paperwork was ever given or sent to me. When I called to cancel, it was the same nurse, and she was extremely rude on the phone saying if I never got any paperwork, I should have called way before. That is all fine and said if I knew they were supposed to send me paperwork! Bedside manner means a lot, especially when my hard earned money goes to paying for the procedure, the doctor, and his staff. I am now looking for a new GI doctor. The Doc was great.

Good experience. They took good care of me.

Dr. Loewenstine was very professional, got my results back when he said, the procedure didn't take long and everyone at the office was great as well.

I had colonoscopy at Jewish Hospital today. It was a great experience (even though it was a colonoscopy! ugh!) The nurses were helpful, they listened, they were nice. Dr. Loewenstine was before and after my procedure. They did take one polyp, I will get the results in about a week. The lady at Dr. Loewenstine's office were very patient with me. Highly recommend! Dr, Lowenstine never sat down when he entered the examining room. He stood up over me and talked to me. He didn’t seem to listen to what I was trying to convey about my symptoms. He was not engaged and he seemed to want to hurry up and get me out of there. His Inter action with me felt cold, somewhat rude and condescending. It was as if the symptoms that I was telling him about, seemed trivial to him. He was very late— an hour late for my appt. is unacceptable. My time is just as important as his. I would be charged a fee by his office if I were that late. When I walked in, his receptionist didn’t even acknowledge me. Basically she never even looked up at me. I made an appt for a follow up but I decided to cancel. I would not recommend him. No one should have to go to a doctor who doesn’t appear to care about what the patient is saying. Smart AND good bedside manner are two very important qualities for my doctors . If this is what you want, Choose someone else.

This office has been nothing short of a bad experience from the beginning! My first visit I was never told it was a consultation; after my procedure he told my contact more information about me than our conversation prior to my release from the hospital; and now I'm struggling to get my results. I had a Colonoscopy in March as a referral from the GI Clinic at Wright Patterson Medical Center. All I can say is: Dr. Lowenstine and his staff were as professional as I have ever seen from start to finish and Dr. Lowenstine did call me personally with the results. This physician is extremely condescending, bordering on rude. I work in the medical field. I am a manager in the medical field. And if my staff talked to/treated patients and family members in the manner that he does I would have an immediate intervention with my staff. Dr. Loewenstine was sure to let us know that he has been practicing gastroenterology for 25 years (so he's clearly of a significantly superior intellect than anyone else he's ever encountered). In my experience, when medical professionals get rude upon being asked simple questions one of two factors are at play. The medical professional either incorrectly interprets the questions as an insult to their knowledge. OR, more frightening, the medical professional is guarding against and actual fundamental lack of knowledge. Either way, Dr. Loewenstine has been practicing 25 years too many. Not recommended I have appointment at 10:15 I I got there 10:17. I waited out side 55 minutes. I noticed people come after me the. Call them and been seeing. And I have to wait. More. The time is important to everyone.

I like one thing about Dr. Lowenstein and that being he doesn't mess around to get to the bottom of my issues. My latest experience with him left me feeling rushed with results of my procedure which he failed to discuss at all. Just wanted to give me a prescription, no explanation, quick in quick out. Also very disappointed that he didn't bother to ask me the outcome of my fever of 101.5 the night I had the colonoscopy. He dismissed that it had anything to do with the procedure, which it did not, but for him to not even have the decency to bring it up and ask what the outcome of it was is just totally unacceptable. Dr. Loewenstine couldn't even bother to call me with the results of my procedure, like he said he would. His office is poorly run also, with multiple issues concerning paperwork and getting pre-approval from the insurance company. You are better off going somewhere where they actually care about the patient.

I have been seeing Dr. Loewenstine for years. He is awesome. He has spent time discussing my problems and treatments. Always professional and kind.

I haven't been to see Dr. Lowenstine since my yearly check up but I saw a review that said that he had been rude to someone and I had to say something. I have been coming to see Dr L for close to 15 years and he has always been nothing but kind and courteous towards me, my mother-in-law (who also sees him) and to his staff. He sits and talks with me and asks about my kids and grandkids at every visit and I never feel rushed, he has called me at home in the evening to let me know of test results so I don't have to wait till the next day and worry needlessly. I'm not saying you aren't telling your truth but I find it very hard to believe, if so maybe you caught him on a one in a million day. Dr. Lowenstine is the best!!! I think Dr Loewenstine is great. He has a laid back attitude that suits me and he makes me smile when I see him. I have found him to have a good balance of taking me seriously, but not freaking me out. I've been seeing him off and on for over 20 years and trust his opinion regarding what my options are for for treatment and which course of action he thinks I should take. If you are like me, and tend toward health anxiety, health professionals that that can walk the line between caution and confidence make all the difference. He has always been appropriately concerned, has lectured me when I needed to be lectured, and has assured me when I get overly anxious about my troublemaker esophagus. My mother in law needed a procedure done in the hospital. He waited until 9::30 the night before to confirm that he could “fit” her in. He was rude and abrasive and did not give her the full details of the outcome.

Horrible experience, visit was less than 5 minutes and he didn't seem to care, he was writing up the prescription before I even finished talking about why I was there, then sent me on my way. Both things he prescribed/suggested made everything worse and now I can't see another doctor with Cincinnati GI because I had a visit with this guy ONCE. $205 for a quick 5 minute visit where he shoves random medications at you that make your issues worse. Would not recommend this guy. I really liked Dr. Loewenstine’s bed side manor and he took the time to explain everything in detail of what he recommended and why. I have ovarian cancer and he genuinely knew all my past challenges. He did not sugar coat anything but did have empathy that most docs have lacked in. He is a no BS kind of guy and I appreciate that.

21 years ago he was rude to me n told my husband nothing was wrong with me after colonoscopy where he told me to shut up after he couldn't knock me out then proceeded to say I have ibs go to counseling n get stress out my life hes mean and arrogant fast forward to now im still sick with possible celiac and my dr refer me to him again no way in hell gonna put my life in his hands and now small intestine is thickening thanks for nothing dont expect help from him

My first visit consisted of me explaining my symptoms for about 20 seconds, then he recommended I have a colonoscopy. That was okay with me since I felt like that was a sure way of knowing what was wrong. Directly after the procedure he told me that I have left-side UC. Fast forward two weeks to the follow up appointment and he tells me my colon "looks crappy", and my diagnosis suddenly changed from left-sided UC to pancolitis (whole colon effected). I found it strange that my diagnosis changed. No explanation about that. Like others have said, he seems to be threatened by me being educated about my diagnosis. I told him that I had been taking turmeric (which I HIGHLY recommend) and that I had not been experiencing any symptoms since my colonoscopy (2 weeks). He seemed to not believe me, and prescribed me a steroid to "clear everything up". He is in the business of making money. Getting second opinion. Do not go to him.

Dr. Loewenstine spent a lot of time discussing my health with me. Made me feel like a participant in my care. Health team is responsive to my needs. Easy to talk to, casual personality.

Dr Lowenstein takes time explaining everything. Excellent bedside manner and his memory about my case is outstanding.

Staff was just okay. However I felt that the setup resembled a drive thru. Get em in and out! Dr Loewenstine may spend 10 secs with you. You have to call for results. The best gastro physician one can see for a problem. He is the best in Cincinnati, Ohio

Arogant, smug and condescending best describe Mr. Loewenstein. While he is capable, he provides virtually no education about the condition and treatment options. He seems to be threatened when a patient is properly educated and is able to ask questions. After multiple encounters as both patient and significant other he is clearly uninterested and callous. There are far better choices in the Cincinnati GI Group.

Tried to get on a treatment for chrohns. Said i needed to call the insurance company to find out what was covered. Called the insurance then spoke to the pharmacy. The pharmacist left a message telling them what was covered. Dr.Lowenstein wasnt happy about that. He called the pharmacy and was very rude to them after having one of his nurses be very rude to me. The pharmacy said that they werent happy that id had the pharmacy call them instead of me. Worst GI ive ever had in 15 years with chrohns

Dr. Loewenstine is a problem solver. If you have a specific problem he doesn't just scope you and say everything fine He will order other testing and work hard to get to the bottom of the problem

Dr. Loewenstein was patient and answered all my questions. The prescribed treatment has been effective. I would recommend Dr. Loewenstine to my family and friends.

He's quite smug & arrogant. He repeatedly talked down to me and dismissed what I had to say. I have educated myself about my condition, and do what I can to help myself. One particularly bad visit, I waited for over an hour and took off work early, unnecessary, and he didn't provide any explanation or apology. The appointment consisted of him saying "we should get you in here for a colonoscopy" (no physical examination whatsoever.) He wants to do tests, but provide little help or advice.

He didn't seem to listen well, and the appointment was 85% waiting for him.

Dr. Loewenstine is the best, I highly recommend him. He listens and doesn't make you do a lot of needless tests.
