Dr. Harold L Kennedy

Dr. Kennedy saved my life in 2001 with an intestinal resection from Crohn’s disease. I am so grateful to him. All the doctors and nurses said I was so lucky to get him because he was the best in town.

I first met Dr. Kennedy in 1988 when I was diagnosed with Ulerative Colitis. I had this condition for several years going in and out of remission. My case become so extreme that I had to have a total colectomy. This is where I met Dr. Hal. He was very professional, passionate and showed extreme empathy for me. Dr. Hal was tough and not waivering on what the proper course of treatment should be but I was only 17 and did not want to have a surgery that would leave me with a temp colostomy. I got so bad I had to have the surgery and this wonderful doctor saved my life. I am grateful for this man and his talent to save me. I will never be able to re-pay Dr. Kennedy what he has given me.

I was very fortunate that my Gastrointerologist in Sacto,Ca, knew of Dr.Harold Kennedy. I was pretty much at death’s door again in 1986, as I had been in hospital a couple wks that time & nothing was wrkg to treat my ulcerative colitis that I had from childhood. Spent so much time in Children’s Hospital in LA, Ca, that it became my 2nd home. But now I was a 32 yr old wife & mother of 3 girls. Dr. Kennedy was called in, & although he didn’t agree w/my position on blood, he so kindly agreed to the surgery. I was weak, blood count low, had to take complete colon & rectum so for awhile I had the stoma bag & in less than a yr, had 2 more surgeries to build new rectum & put insides back together to function naturally, so to speak. Of course, things aren’t perfect when we lose any body part but for me it was the best decision. He’s the best in my book.

Dr. Kennedy saved my wife's life, for she was suffering from Ulcerative Colitis (UC) for 18 months, and had one infusion of blood after another; and was severely undernourished and suffering from malnutrition because her small intestine had stopped working, from all of the trauma that was occurring in her colon. He immediately had her hospitalized and had her fed intravenously, along with several additional pints of blood, and 5 days later he performed the surgery that saved her life, for if her colon had perforated it would have caused a massive infection, that could have been fatal. In sum, he knew and did what he needed to do, before her UC led to colon cancer, and my wife and I will always be indebted to this wonderful individual and Surgeon for saving her life.

He not only did what he was claimed to do, but did 2 other procedures I was not aware of until after surgery. I have been fitting a 6 yr battle to undue what he did! Please any one consulting this person, get second opinion! I do not want any one to go thru what I have had to go thru.
