What was already a sensitive and uncomfortable appointment was made completely traumatic by this doctor's lack of human decency. He is judgemental, unhelpful, rude, and unable to discuss sensitive material gently and kindly.

Dr. Scherz was awesome. He did a fantastic job with my son's circumcision revision, and I couldn't thank him enough. Very nice, straight forward kind of guy, and he knows exactly what he's doing. Great Doctor

I watched patients come in and out of the office in 5 min or less while waiting for my son's scheduled appointment. But, if a parent has to ever seek a specialist then of course there is an issue with their child. This doctor asked what was wrong I began to explain and he cut me off, asked why he didn't see my son after surgery as if he was scolding me, then proceeded to ignore everything that was wrong with my son and told me to give him more fiber and wait maybe 6 months (his words). My son does not have digestive issues. But, if the doctor stopped to listen he would have known my son's issue. I have never in my life been told by a doctor that they're "not trying to be combative" until 4/21/2022 and yet he was definitely being combative. I didn't respond to the doctor but I did call to change doctors. And I have rescheduled with a new doctor. I never want to see this man ever again!! Hal Scherz has been a blessing for my son archer and his surgery. Dr.Scherz as well as his staff are so very kind and patient with small kids and I would highly recommend for anyone. Had a wonderful experience with Dr. Scherz for our son. Procedure went well. He and his staff were great!

This was our second visit here and our experience has been phenomenal both times. My son was born with some extra fluid in his kidney- hydronephrosis. We came here for an evaluation and today a follow up. This is a wonderful practice. We were in and out in 30-45 mins both times. Dr. Hal Scherz is great! He shows compassion and was comforting easying a mothers anxiety by explaining everything thoroughly. He was great with my son, keeping him calm and entertained during the ultrasound. Doctor Scherz was a gift! When a baby needs a procedure, no matter how routine, it’s a challenging time for the parents. Dr. Scherz made it as comfortable as possible for us. His bedside manner comforted both our baby and his anxious parents. We can’t recommend him enough!

Dr. Scherz took amazing care of my son as he had to undergo a hydrocele repair. He took his time to speak with us before and after surgery, helping us to feel at ease throughout the entire process. The surgery went very smoothly and recovery was a breeze.

Dr. Scherz did a great job. My seventeen year old son had a quick surgery a few weeks ago. Dr. Scherz met with both of us at Scottish Rite before the surgery and then met with me afterwards. Dr Scherz and his team at Georgia Urology are wonderful. His work is great and he took wonderful care of my son. His team even helped work through the minefield of health insurance to make sure the procedure was covered. I'm grateful to them for that.

Great doctor, clean neat incision, healed very well. It won't take but a couple of years for scar to dissappear. Great staff, doc was super informative. Would highly recommend!

Five years ago, my son needed to have an ultrasound and follow up surgery. As the mother of a 6 month old, you don't want to think about your baby having to go through this. When we were told, I remember crying in the office, and Dr. Scherz immediately handed me a tissue and told me it would be okay. He was right. The surgery was successful--and you'd never know within 24 hours that my son had undergone anything. The care shown to my son was fantastic. We went back recently to look into more options for him now that he is 5.5. He was very clear and explanatory with us, and while additional surgery is not necessary at this point, we were glad to have our fears appeased, and our knowledge base expanded. Dr. Scherz performed surgeries on both of my sons. We knew they were in good hands with him. We are very fortunate to have found him and his judgement on my oldest son prevented him from having a more invasive procedure. You couldn’t ask for a more qualified surgeon.

Our trip to this appointment started off rocky because I left my purse at home with my mask, money and ID inside. I didn't realize this until I was on the highway and it was too late to turn back. When I arrived at the office the receptionist at the desk gave me a mask after I told her I left everything in my purse. Thankfully I did have a picture of my ID in my phone and I was able to check in my son with the picture. Normally they wouldn't do it but because of my situation the receptionist also validated my parking pass. They were extremely helpful. Dr. Scherz came in and looked at my newborn son and he turned our visit into an outpatient procedure and solved the issue right there. I was so thankful that my son did not have to endure any surgery. Both of our boys have been patients of Dr. Scherz over the last 4 years and we couldn’t be happier with him. He is kind and funny but more importantly he is the best pediatric urologist there is. His nurse, Laura, is also wonderful and always a pleasure to see.

Dr. Scherz performed surgeries on both of my boys at a very young age. We knew we were in good hands with him. All of the procedures went off without a hitch. Dr. Scherz is the best in the business and we are very fortunate to have found him. He’s a well respected pioneer in pediatric urology and you couldn’t ask for a more qualified surgeon.

My daughter has been a patient of Dr Scherz/Kirsch/Smith (all of whose names I've seen on many bills) for 6 years and we have never seen any of them in person. The nurses, Kristin Wellman and Shannon Suarez are wonderful, but the lack of communication is frustrating. For example, one time we went in for a check-up and they took my daughter's urine just in case. Then I get a call from a pharmacy in another part of town that I've never used saying there was a prescription for her ready. I thought it was a mistake, but after another couple tries I returned the call to the pharmacy to find out my daughter had yet another UTI and no one at GA Urology called to tell me, let alone asked which pharmacy to send it to. My daughter has only one fully working kidney so every UTI is pertinent. This is one of may instances where the communication fell through. Their billing is also confusing, I am guessing this is intentional and the figures change on each new mailing. I would not recommend.

My son was born with an enlarged kidney and Dr. Scherz walked us through all of the possibilities and necessary tests to determine a course of action and treatment plan. He thoroughly answered all of my questions and always made sure I had all of the information I needed in order to make informed decisions about the care of my son. Every interaction that I have had with him and his staff has been pleasant and encouraging. I am grateful to Dr. Scherz for helping my son!

We visited Dr. Scherz Nov. 2017 to evaluate my 4 month old son’s hydronephrosis. The office staff are friendly, the wait time was reasonable (waiting room and exam room), and the nursing staff very friendly but professional. Dr. Scherz and his nurse practictioner were both thorough in their explanations and exam, did not rush us, and answered all of our questions in easily understood terminology; also both providers were very personable yet professional. Thank you!

My son and I had an excellent experience with Dr. Scherz. The woman at the front office was so nice and could see I was stressed out from rushing around to get to my son's appointment on time. As a professional, the doctor just continued with his examination of my son's private part, even as my son was laughing because he was ticklish, Everywhere. I trusted his diagnosis and recommendation.

His "bedside manner" has left both my son and I feeling demoralized. In facet, he has made me feel like my son's problems are cause by me. My son suffers from kidney stones, his first occurring when he was 12. The first visit was good and the doctor and staff did a lot to make sure he was well cared for. My son is now 14 and just passed stones #4 and #5. These were diagnosed in the ER last week and our appt. isn't until this week...with no phone calls returned to us when asking for assistance.
