Dr. Hac Hong Nguyen

I was there 5 weeks ago and asked for a prescription for 3 times of getting cold sores. He gave me 8 pills. Instructions are take 2 pills twice daily. So….. if a person has a cold sore for 7 days- they would need 14 pills. I called this morning to ask for a refill. Girl at front desk IS extremely rude! When I received the CVS pharmacy update, it showed that he has given me 4 pills. Still not enough for the first go round and then I have zero for the next flare up and the one after that. I called the office back and got another employee who was equally as rude! I had problems at this office before but was willing to give them another chance. I’M DONE! I do not recommend this practice.

I visited Dr. Hac Nguyen office on 05/31/2022. Dr Nguyen told me my blood pressure was under control based on one visit I was not ask do I keep a record if so what's the range in the last couple of weeks. And he quickly called in a prescription without monitoring me to make an informed decision. ???? Then labs were drawn the lab Tech Chenell was very incompetent. She could not find my veins, when she allegedly found my vein it took 5 mins for one tube of blood. Then she drawed blood from my other arm she puncture my vein leaving me bruised and a huge knot of a blood ball. I could go on and on but I think you get it. Go at your own risk I know a good practice when I see it and this is not one of them. Oh yeah the scale is just like my target scale at home. This practice was a joke to me. My family's experience here is SAD AND HORRIBLE only because of the DOCTOR. Again, this review is for the DOCTOR. We appreciated the front desk/staff because they made sure we were taken care of. LET ME BEGIN. My mom had a stroke and currently in a wheelchair. Her condition went down from thinking, listening, and even talking as a side effect of this horrible stroke. Even though we were recommended to go to a better doctor, my mom still chose to go here. So a few months ago, my mom had an appointment here. As usual, we waited but the staff was great. They opened the door for us and made sure everything was ready. We went to a room, waited for maybe 10 minutes. WHEN THE DOCTOR CAME IN, EVERYTHING WENT DOWN. The DOCTOR opened the door and hit my mom's wheelchair and it moved a bit. MY MOM was shocked. But what's even more shocking? THE DOCTOR DID NOT APOLOGIZE. AGAIN, THE DOCTOR DID NOT APOLOGIZE. He went to his chair as if nothing happened. I WAS ANGRY. but because of too much emotion, I was not able to say anything. After that, we talked about what we came for. I was already thinking of leaving at that time. When the doctor asked my mom his final question, my mom was having a hard time thinking and talking. I cannot answer this time as she is the only one who knows that information. BUT THE DOCTOR lost his patience. HE ASKED US TO LEAVE. I WAS MAD. I WAS ANGRY. AND UNFORTUNATELY DUE TO ALL THE EMOTIONS, I WAS SPEECHLESS. ALSO, THE DOCTOR LEFT IMMEDIATELY . I just told myself, we just need to leave and never come back. But before we left the clinic, the staff told us to call them if anything else and they will see if they can do something. They gave me their card while I'm looking at their sad faces. RACIST DOCTOR. My father in law has been going to this place about three times he had really bad experience with this doctor my FIL doesn't speak English and when we made his appointment we told the receptionist that he doesn't speak English and that he needs a translator (he is Spanish speaking) the first time everything went ok the 2 last times he went the staff didn't want to translate for him even tho the staff does speak Spanish and the doctor got mad and gave an attitude to him saying that "he has to learn english" he knows that we know that but if you are gonna have that attitude towards non English speaker patients then don't accept patients that doesn't speak english. **UPDATE!!!! April 2022 I wrote the original review a little more than a year ago as seen below. Today Dr. Nguyen and his amazing staff went above and beyond for me in my very unique situation. Not only did they solve my problem they made me feel like I was wasn’t even a problem in the first place. And honestly it was a weird frustration situation complicated unrelated to there office. As always I would highly recommend this office. And the newest staff team is by fair the best. Those girls truly care about there patients whole heartedly. I've been seeing Dr. Nguyen for roughly 5 years now, and can honestly say without any hesitation he is an extremely caring and knowledgeable doctor. I've visited him regarding a broad range of health concerns and have never left thinking "Man, this guy doesn't care." For a period of time I was working abroad, and no matter how long between visits, he would always remember and ask me how the country I was working in, and if work was going well. Someone can only manage to do this if they're genuinely listening to you, which Dr. Nguyen does. The office is clean and well kept, maybe not as flashy as some other places that just want your money and could care less about your actual health. Front desk and nurses are always friendly, quick, and polite. He is also a huge Houston sports fan with numerous awesome plaques and memorabilia. I've recently moved down to Lake Jackson, and still make the drive up to Spring because I know who I'm dealing with and can honestly trust him. I'm not sure about the other negative comments, but I'd be willing to bet that it's most likely their attitude/problem and not Dr. Nguyen's. He charges more and more every time you see him. I just had a telephone appointment with him and it cost more than a new patient fee. His response was "well you dont have to pay but I also dont have to call in your medications". Hos front desk people are rude too. They've been rude every time I have ever been there. I used to see him a lot when I was a kid and he was in the building next door. I went back today and he is still a really good doctor. However I was charged incorrectly and I it took a while for the refund to go through.

I first started seeing Dr Nguyen about 3 years ago or so. One day I was feeling terrible and my regular doctor couldn't see me. I decided on the way home to stop in. I was able to get an appt as a new patient that very day. Since then I have made him my primary doctor. I've never been told they are too busy or any other nonsense some offices tell you.

DESERVED ZERO STAR.....Dr. Hac Nguyen is VERY VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. DR HAC NGUYEN DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE WELLBEING OF EVERY SINGLE PATIENTS. NO RESPECT. I went to a doctor Dr Hac Nguyen MD. I have a sinus infection. He put me on Hydroxyzie. I will NEVER use this doc again. I ended up at an ER last night cuz i was getting worse. The meds he put me on was a perscription bendryl. It would never fix the sinus infection. Im now on steriods and antibiotics. One dose and alrdy feel better. Thanks to the ER. The girl (while on m the phone w/me had to ask her coworker several times), so after confirming I made an apointment. WHEN I get to my apointment & see the Dr, I was then told I needed to fast. I've been going to Dr Nguyen for several years now. I love how they always find time to see me, have Saturday hours, and it's always a quick in and out visit. Very accommodating and friendly staff.

I Currently take antidepressants and really need them to keep me level. When I was almost out, I called and spoke with the receptionist. She informed me that the dr had left early for the day and she’s send him a message and then call me back the next day. Next day, I hear nothing. Because of my work schedule and them being closed the next day, I had to wait till today and call again. I explained the severity of the situation, this being day 3, and she said that she’d send a message to the dr and call me back. When she calls me back, she informs me that my prescription is ready to be refilled and I could have gotten this on Friday what I originally called. I asked her why I wasn’t told this that day so that I could avoid the thoughts of killing myself, and her response was that I needed to calm down or she wasn’t going to speak with me again. This rude individuals name is apparently only 2 letters. If you want to see a dr that has staff that cares, find anyone else to see!!!

This doctor is a dangerous pill pusher who prescribed my family member a dangerous cocktail of antidepressant, anti-anxiety and pain meds. As a general practitioner he has no business prescribing these types of medication without a psychiatrist’s involvement. My relative became addicted and started abusing the pills. We alerted the doctor to the abuse and told him to no longer prescribe those medications. However he continues to do so and we will be reporting him to the medical board and authorities. My husband came in with a bad infection on his leg and was spreading. Dr. Hac told him to “come back in a few days if he didn’t feel better”. He also said it could be staph. The same day I had to take him to the hospital because it was worsening and his fever was climbing. If we would have waited like instructed by this Dr., it could have spread even more. We were also told at the hospital that it was Cellulitis and not staph. I advise anyone who even thinks of coming to turn the other way, because this Dr can’t even give the correct diagnosis. Should have read and listened to the reviews. I've been going to this doctor for about a year and today he couldn't call in a prescription for my asthma rescue inhaler. I was under the impression he gave me refills like all of my physicians in the past have done. I've had this disease for about 40 years now and I know what this office did was wrong and unethical. When I call my insurance company to change my PCP I will let them know why and also find out where to file an official complaint. I’m surprised at some of these low reviews. I always get in quick to see Dr. Ngyuen and he is direct and to the point and helps me with what I need. He was referred to me by many friends and I refer him to many people. I’m happy I found him years ago as he is close to my home and work and takes good care of me.

used Hac for 13 years, yeah the fee thing but he's straight with you and does the job he's supposed to do. people complain too much. be lucky your not going to these other doctors that talk in circles and then a month later your insurance sends you a notice they only pay x amount and your stuck with a thousand dollar bill.

I love Dr. Nguyen, he takes very good care and listens to me, and a wonderful manner, he's a sweetheart. His staff is super sweet and the girl who works referrals keeps me updated until completed.

Pros: I have been a patient with Dr. Nguyen for 8 years and I have never had a bad experience. He is thourough and quick. He always provides me with the correct medication and diagnosis which I already know what it will be since I am a nurse. I make my appointments and I am in and out. He is very straight to the point and I love that. Cons: The staffing has a high turn over rate. I do not go to the Dr. very often, but when I do its always new faces. I have been told he is very hard to work for. Bedside manner could be better but I believe it's a more cultural practice than him intentionally being rude. The add on fees are ridiculously high priced. If I have labs done then it is an xtra charge when it should be included in my copay since he has an in house lab. There are upcharges on alot of services and medications he offers in the office but it's his practice but I believe those are minor issues that I can live with. Overall I feel Dr.Nguyen is a great Doctor and I am sticking with him. I always make sure if I get new insurance that he takes it because I do not want to go to any other Doctor. They refused to call my insurance provider AARP Medicare Complete through United Health Care for coverage of costs. They insisted they would bill Medicare Health Insurance. This is NOT my insurance. They would have refused to pay and would have referred them to my insurance company. They wouldn't even take the phone number or call Medicare or my insurance agent!!!

Dr Nguyen is extremely knowledgeable. I trust him with the care of my entire family.

I was in the waiting room and I hear a lady screaming and I was surprised because it’s always a very calm and positive environment. She was screaming to the employees that they will not get paid unless she received her money. Ambition. She is very rude to her employees. It’s sad. My visit was not a pleasant one - my issue is with the manager as she was extremely rude to me and her employees. I will not be returning if she continues to be employed there. I made sure to notify my friends and family to avoid this clinic at all cost, unbelievable!

Dr. Nguyen is a great doctor but unfortunately I will not be returning due to the manager. I was waiting for my appointment when she started yelling and speaking to the employees very rudely. I did not like the way she handled the situation and spoke to them. It is not the first time I’ve been in the lobby and heard her yelling at the employees. Unprofessional and rude. Because of this I will not be returning.

Long time patient and have referred many friends and family to Dr. Nguyen. When my son outgrew his pediatrician, he wanted Dr. Nguyen for himself as well. Excellent doctor, quick & convenient appointments.

I used to be a patient next door. Then a few years back I decided to attend the clinic since Doctor Nguyen went on his own. I was so unpleased with the staff that used to work there. Recently I have been very ill. I decided to give doctor Nguyen another try. My opinion has completely changed. The staff is very helpful! They are a great team. Love the positive energy. Overall my yearly physical was fast and not painful at all. Thank you to the lab lady San. Completely Satisfied.

This clinic is pretty convenient - I came and came out really quick. I love the staff, and all the smiling and friendly faces. The young ladies were all very helpful, especially the young lady Cirena. All in all, I will definitely recommend this place!

Been going to doctor Nguyen since he was partnered together with another doctor, they ended up splitting and that's when I should of figured out it was time to move on. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and stuck with him. If you want a doctor with outrageous hidden fees and poor practices then this is your place. The staff are rude and disrespectful. Since Dr. Nguyen opened his new place of business it seems like he is more money hungry than ever offering Botox etc. Which there is nothing wrong with that but I think that got his head in a bunch and he forgot he was a family doctor. The past year my father went to his office to get some disability papers filled out for his handicap sign. Mind you all Dr. Nguyen had to do was state what was my fathers disabilty and sign. I was really surprised at how great the service at the front desk was. I came here before and was skeptical of coming back because of my previous experience but since then they have hired two ladies in particular (Jaissa and Soledad) and they really went above and beyond to get my insurance verified and just gave me a great experience. Dr. Nguyen is a fine doctor. Unfortunately, his recent staffs are very unprofessional and rude. They refused to listen to clients and insist on what they want. If you don't go along with it, they'll put you on hold forever or hang up on you. Try to call back and they are worse. I'm leaving Dr. Hac Ngueyn after 10 years because of the lousy staff.

Went in about a week ago and had the joy of being serviced by the sweetest girl. She came in did her work and kept a smile on her face. She had braces so she caught my attention lol. Good job

Dr. Nguyen is awesome. His staff is friendly and I have never had to wait around for my appointment.

Dr. Hac and his staff runs a first rate medical practice and health clinic. They have a full offering of services which includes basic medical care to luxurious spa and beauty treatments. Dr. Hac is compassionate, caring, learned, and honest. He is completely thorough and will always out his patients first. Dr. Hac also commits a significant amount of time to learning the most advanced medical treatments and keeping up with the latest medical procedures. In short, the best doctor in town!

Dr. Nguyen is thorough in his diagnosis and gives his patients the utmost attention when providing information. He is an extremely intelligent, caring and patient doctor. Dr. Nguyen's is dedicated to the overall success of his patient's health. In addition, the office staff provides excellent customer service and are very friendly. I would definitely recommend Dr. Nguyen to my family and friends.

Dr Nguyen is one of the few physicians left that genuinely takes the time to listen to his patience as well as explain the diagnosis comprehensively. There is never a long wait time and the clinic is up to date and in upstanding condition.

They never disclosed they'd charge $25 for a new patient fee that isn't covered by insurance. We won't be going back. There are plenty of other doctors who don't charge a "fee" for being a new patient.

Dr. Nguyen is convenient to the neighborhood and a great doctor. He always takes time with me and answers all of my questions.

Dr. Nguyen is very personable and easy to communicate with regarding your medical needs. He knowledgeable about the medical profession. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Hac Nguyen and his ladies in the office are wonderful ? They're always so patient and understanding. I've been going here since 2011 and drive 45 minutes because they're all worth it.

I have been going to Dr. Nguyen for over 15 years. He is second to none. He is very efficient and always greets you with a smile and a handshake.

Wish i could gave 0 star. Took 6 shots 3 ppl just to get my blood sample. Charged $150 on my card just for medication refill. They told me I'll will get the refund after 2 weeks, and now is the 5th week . Don't ever go there

Terrible facility...I'm on Medicare, they accepted it...I had my yearly physical, so there is no deductible , they still charged 75 dollars, saying 25 New patient fee, lol, 20 blood work, and 40 dollar copay. U should b glad to have new patients so u make money and they keep coming back. Not charge them new patient fee, ridiculous..Ohhhh then an annual fee, lol, read that after i filled out paperwork..I called Medicare and they talked to his office people and told them I don't have a copay, so they said when billing goes thru that i would receive a refund. Got my eob, and they were paid, and still no refund. Got my blood results and still shows my cholesterol is still high. I was already taking fenofibrate meds, so i went to his office to ask for a prescription, he was not there, so they emailed Nac, he said i would need to make another appointment to c him , lol..Duhhhh i just saw u and u have my blood work results , thats when u prescribe medication for ur patient's, u don't have to c them again, for what??. 1st impression after walking in door was that I walked into a place that was going to push additional services on me. Every square inch of wall/door space is covered with posters/etc. of all these services this office provides. Included on all of them are costs. In fact there is a huge board in the waiting room that goes over fees if you pay cash for some of their services. It was all overwhelming to say the least. Even in the examining room you'll see more of the same "advertisements" of extra services they provide. Not impressive at all. Dr is polite & kind. In the end I was given a prescription for a drug that was supposed to save me $ monthly. I was paying $90 a month with insurance for my 60 mg Duloxetine. A few hours later I called my local Walgreens to ask if my prescription was ready & I was told that the doctor had to call my insurance company for pre-authorization for whatever he wrote for me. I know this takes WAY too long! Not to mention that I was told that the cost w/ insurance pre-approval was $200 a month! WHAT?!?!?!?!? I called the doctor office right away & asked to have the doctor send over a prescription for the medication I was taking as I was completely out & did not want to go through the withdrawal of it. No, it is not a narcotic BUT the withdrawal symptoms I read about scared me. I was taking 60 mg of Duloxetine every morning. I was assured my the woman that I was speaking with that i would hear back from someone right away. 2 hours later I hadn't heard a word, so I called again. This time I spoke with another woman who took all my info AGAIN & she promised me to call me back within minutes. NO ONE EVER CALLED ME BACK, even now. Over 24 hours after my appointment & paying over $100 to see this doctor, I am still without my medication & am going through withdrawal symptoms. NEVER EVER GO TO THIS MAN! HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!! No doctor should make you pay a $50 fee for doctor office annual fees?? Keep reading reviews all he does or cares for is charge the utmost fees to benefit himself on top of copay. If you've been diagnosed or taking a narcotic substance for two years with him he will still make you come in for a visit every month to get that prescription. Patient of 5+ years now, same day appointments, shortest waiting times by far of any physician I've seen. Fast, efficient & thorough - personable staff! Highly recommend this doctor :)

Dr. Nguyen is a very good Doctor. He has taken care of my whole family (four of us) for over 2 years now. The only issue that I have with his practice is that he is very aggressive about his patiences to give him good reviews, which to me is not completely honest. Reviews should not be aggressively encouraged. The mentality is that of a pre-online thought process. My first visit to Dr. Nguyen's practice was the past Monday (6/12/17). Before setting my appointment I did my due diligence and made my decision. I would like to say that the office visit was great. The Check-in was good. There where a couple of patients in the waiting room but everything moved quickly, and it was an inviting environment. Being someone who had never interacted with Dr. Nguyen and his staff before I can say that it was relaxing, like I had been a patient there for a while.

Dr.nguyen treats my whole family. We love having a good doctor right around the corner.
