My Daughter has been a patient of Dr. Ishmaels for 18 years, since she was a baby at CHOC. Dr. Ishmael has always been a fantastic and knowledgeable Neurologist treating my daughter's rare brain condition and he is the only Neurologist I want and trust working with my daughter. Im actually looking to schedule a checkup and wanted to leave him a review. Thank you Dr. Ishmael for 18 years of care, we will continue to schedule with you as long as you are in practice!

Patient Beware!!! This Doctor does not look out for patient well being. I had a neck injury a few months back that is causing some weird effects. He was the only neurologist I could get within a reasonable time and boy was it a waste of time. On my first visit with him and him only doing a visual/questionnaire during the visit, diagnosed me with depression/anxiety and prescribed me medication. Odd since I thought I was seeing a neurologist, not a psychologist. I questioned him about why he thinks I need those medications and what tests can he show me that led him to the determination...of course he said there is no test for that diagnosis. Well doctor...how about we look at the injury around my neck that I talked about. Nope, wouldn't refer me to get an MRI on my neck. Only a brain MRI, which showed no issues (still relieved to here that). He also performed an EEG which he said I have "seizure tendencies..."What does that even mean? I never had a seizure. Anyways, I went to another neurologist that was scheduled a month after all this madness and explained what happened. He doesn't even know what Dr. Ismail was talking about. I am very disappointed by the poor customer service and management skills delivered at this office. The office called me twice to cancel my appointments in the span of 4 weeks because the physician was exposed to COVID-19. I had an EMG test scheduled for next week to assess nerve pain that I have suffered from for years and was called to be informed that it needed to be cancelled because I had not been seen for a consult. After a back and forth exchange with the front desk supervisor, she agreed to schedule me for a consult within two days to ensure I could receive my nerve test accordingly. The minute I show up she apologizes to me and states that she has to cancel my upcoming nerve test because she was not going to have my insurance authorization for the procedure on time. When I complained again that the office canceled my appointment TWICE, she stated that it was my responsibility to call them and reschedule my appointment earlier on to prevent this occurrence. So not only was my consult cancelled twice, but I was also reprimanded for not rescheduling the third appointment, then “accommodated” for a consult only to arrive and be told I should not have been scheduled in the first place. Wonderful Doctor. The staff is great. I would trust him if you need a great neurologist. Mary the office manager is so nice.

We waited a month for an appointment. My appointment was at 1pm and they told me to arrive an hour early but refused to talk to me on their long lunch break so should have showed up at 1. Anyway my autistic sons waited a month for an appointment. When we got there they said their insurance papers were not up to date despite them saying them saying they accepted Tricare a month ago. Unbelievable staff. First time to see this so expert doctor and it was the mistake of my life. Took me a month to get/find an appointment. Arrived 15min before my appointment as requested and filled all needed paperwork. I still had 5min left before my appointment. Then I kept waiting from 8:15am till 9am.. There was only one patient inside seing the dr already. Another patient arrived at 9am and before he sits down he was called to enter and see the Dr!!!!! I went to tge receptionist to ask what is going on and she did not have any answer... Then I was called by the head nurse.. and she started telling me that the patient who entered at 9am had his appointment before me at 8:15am... so I got really angry and told her if he was supposed to be here at 8:15 and did not show up till 9am then he should not delay all other patients and either you should cancel his appointment or let him wait till you guys have a free slot!!!! She started defending and telling me that I have to wait anyway each time I visit this dr... She is the worst and most arrogant person I have ever seen.... Obviously if this dr is soooo good but has no control or is not aware about his support team then he cannot be real ya good dr... he should worry about his patients and monitor his staff ... Office staff is totally unprofessional in attitude, and assisting clients in question, paper work and in scheduling they are so rude. Doctors have no knowledge of what goes on at the front desk. If they don’t like dealing with clients they should look for a new profession. As for the doctors they are absolutely wonderful.

Dr. Habib have a very unprofessionally staff, they didn't now how they communicate with the patients, and now one in the office can answer to the questions with smile face. I left the office after 45 mints waiting without any apology. very bad service I'm not recommended this office to any one

Doctor is great but billing office is awful. They treat you like a moron if you are on Medicare. They don’t listen when you try to explain anything. Awful and a shame, I’m not returning to a good Doctor

The doctor is 4 stars, he is kind and patient. I'd give 2 stars for the environment, no warmth or care just uncomfortable chairs and lots of coughing. 1 star for never being on time. They overbook people for the same time slot so there is always a wait. If you arrive on time, you'll easily wait 30-45+ minutes for 5 minutes with the doctor. There has to be a more organized way. The front office is fine with me, so I don’t know why there are complaints. He’s a great Dr. He doesn’t just hand out medication like a drug dealer and starts off very conservative when dealing with neurological disorders.

Dr Ismail is a great doctor wouldn’t change him for no other doctor

this place is really really bad...i did egg test done and already 4 weeks and report was not ready. The front office is lie to me all bunch of reason and they refused to give medical record because they didn't chart properly. Don't wast you time and insurance in that place

Our family has been seeing Dr. Ishmail since 1997. He is knowledgeable,compassionate,kind, considerate,gentle he listens to the patient, patient concerns, he takes his time, he truly cares about his patients! He does though examineations, runs the necessary tests in a timely manner! Dr. Habib Ishamil is higly respected! He is one amazing neurologist! Yes he is reserved. Quite. He is very busy, his office staff is busy handeling patients, needs of Dr. Ishmail, the phones and papper work, scheduling appointments, Insurance companies, filling, test results,RXs. The office staff can get overwhelmed, who wouldnt! He is very respected by his colleagues!! None of us are perfect, we all have our good days and our bad days! I think it's completely unfair to give this doctor a bad review based on their office staff alone. I have been to Dr. Habib's office once so far and I must say I was very impressed with him. He was thorough and took his time with me. He was very kind and caring. I am very glad I was referred to him. As for the office staff, I didn't have a problem with them. I don't know how this doctor is still operating!!! horrible front office service! he will sued for malpractice soon and he should have his license taken away. it took them 3 months to get back the MRI results and when i complained nothing was done. they don't even know how to write a prescription. don't go to this doctor.
