Dr. Gretchen Eh Makai

Good part - is pretty patient at very beginning, and requested tons of exams to figure out the problems. Bad part - once she gave you the treatments/medicine, she became super impatient to answer your questions, and ignore your concerns. Once your situation becomes complicated, she is reluctant to offer help and handle it. She has more excuses than actually conducting the action. To better treat yourself, you may want to find another one. Please be aware of that...

Dr. Makai is amazingly capable and treated my condition thoroughly. I felt confident in her care from the first consultation. She took the time to understand my issues and I would recommend her without hesitation.

Meeting Dr Makai for the first time after having months of pain etc. was truly a relief. I felt like someone finally understood what I was going through. She explained what all of my results meant before asking. She is very knowledgeable, talks with you & welcomes questions. It is now a week after my hysterectomy & she was with me every step of the process. She took such good care of me and my recovery is going so well! I can’t say enough wonderful things about her & my experience!

Dr. Makai is excellent at listening at anything that I feel I should bring to her attention regarding my health. After spending numerous visits with “the best” doctors in my area that made me feel uncomfortable or that I just didn’t know what I was talking about. Dr. Makai not only assured me that I was in good hands, but she also made sure to let me know that I’m not crazy and I’m completely justified in my feelings over my new endometriosis diagnosis. I don’t know where I’d be without her!

Dr. Makai is knowledgeable and patient. I'm a new patient and she probably spent more time with me than what was allotted during our first visit but she answered all of my questions, put my mind at ease and didn't make me feel rushed. Her support staff is also very helpful. Danielle, her nurse, has followed-up on care even after I forgot. She too is knowledgeable, patient and return calls quicker than expected. I would certainly recommend Dr. Makai to my family and friends.

Love Dr. Makai. She's very personable, clear, trust worthy, and she doesn't judge you for any decisions you make. I went through many OB's before finally finding her!

Initially liked her bedside manner. Found my problem quickly. Went ahead with hysterectomy. HOWEVER, this is where NIGHTMARE STARTS. Had a foley placed 3 times during hosp stay, caused & denied injury to my ureter during procedure. Ct proven. Have been to ER for pain because she DOES NOT prescribe pain meds after small additional rx you go home from hospital with. Refused to treat my pain & argued many ridiculous reasons why I was in pain never once considering this being her fault. Beware.

Phenomenal surgeon; she's meticulous, thorough, and caring. I'm finally free of fibroid issues, and am looking forward to this new chapter in my life.
