The Role of a Doctor | As a writer, it is difficult to convey all my emotions through one paragraph. As a starting point, I want to draw attention to the importance of the doctor's role. During the minutes preceding my surgery, I was feeling extremely nervous and contemplated cancelling. There were two procedures for which I was scheduled, one of which was beneficial to my physical health and the other beneficial to my mental health. Upon arrival at the hospital, my doctor conducted a final evaluation before starting the procedure. His gentleness, professionalism and thoroughness made my disparities seem less daunting. In our conversation I asked him one question. Do you love what you do? He did not know that his response would profoundly change the decision of my surgery. In an ironic twist, the response he gave was truly heartfelt and destined for me to hear. He replied, “Yes, I love what I do!” I initially started my career just simply doing the work. Many years ago, I started seeing my role in an artistic perspective. Through art, I want to help individuals feel good about themselves. I recognized the truth in his eyes as he looked into mine. The truth alone was sufficient for me to proceed with surgery. In my opinion, that statement was not only related to my surgical procedure; it also motivated me to take a global view of my life decisions. As far as my career is concerned, I've never treated it like an art form. As such, I simply perform my duties at the end of the day. I am forever changed by these words. Thankfully, the surgery went well without any hiccups or issues. All of the details were orchestrated perfectly, the staff synchronized which reflected the leadership, and a beautiful canvas was produced. Thank you Gregory J. Dr MacKay and his staff are excellent and very caring! Dr MacKay is always available for questions, insures you both are on the same page. I could not be more pleased with my care!

After an extensive amount of research, I chose Dr. Mackay to perform my facelift. Following my first consultation, I was completely confident I had chosen the right doctor. He is extremely respected in his field, passionate about his profession, and a perfectionist. He and his whole staff are so kind, and it is extremely obvious they all enjoy their work, and ensuring their patients are well looked after. I truly cannot say enough to relay what a positive experience I had with Dr. Mackay and his team, and I am just two weeks post surgery. I am SO happy with the results. I do not think of myself as the type of person to have plastic surgery, but after this experience, I would imagine I may have a couple more procedures in my future. My wife is still recovering from a diep flap she had Monday and honestly she looks fabulous. She has had a long journey and fight with cancer but I will say I’m so impressed with how great she is doing and what an excellent job both doctors did on her. She still has a considerable amount of pain but that was a big surgery. Im very pleased with their responsiveness and proactive approach towards infection and pain. I would highly recommend this team for breast reconstruction related to cancer !! My wife had tears of joy to look so great after cancer ruined her body. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Mackay and his whole staff. At arguably the worst time in my life (breast cancer diagnosis and required double mastectomy), they have been reassuring, confident, and kind always. They make scheduling, insurance, and work claims easy (those things are never easy!). They demonstrate with every appointment how committed they are to not only helping me move forward after cancer, but how to feel whole again too in spite of cancer. Dr Mackay makes you feel like the only patient while he meets with you and is actively listening and explaining. He has years of experience and you want that during this journey.

I have been a patient of Dr Mackays for almost 15 years and without a doubt the best medical care and staff I have been under the care of in all my years. Not only from a professional standpoint, but everyone is so attentive, friendly, and understanding of a patients needs and concerns surrounding the medical issue/subject.

First of all Dr. Mackay is very attentive and caring. Between him and his PA Jacqueline, I was able to talk to a professional about my unexpected upcoming procedure for over two hours during my initial consultation. They both truly took their time in answering a plethora of questions I had and even offered answers to questions I didn't even know I had or should be asking. Dr. Mackay and Jacqueline are both clearly perfectionists when it comes to perfecting other people's bodies, but I also very much appreciated that neither of them was JUST concerned about appearance. They asked questions about my lifestyle and based on that made suggestion that would lead to not only a visually pleasing result, but also an overall practical result. Even when the surgery didn't go quite as expected because my body wasn't able to support the originally planned way of doing it, Dr. Mackay first chose the path that was most pleasing to me once I came to post-op, and then offered alternative ways to still get the end result of what would be visually as well as practically satisfying. After my surgery, I had occasional questions about medication and drains and the on call nurses always called back within minutes and also truly took their time in answering questions - even at 2am. I've had a few follow up appointments and always feel respected and well cared for. I also truly appreciate little aspects - like Dr. Mackay even greeting my husband by his first name and having him and his office welcoming my husband to every appointment. Especially with having had a need rather than a desire for a plastic surgery, it's important to me to have someone close to me at every appointment and during times of coronavirus, it's not necessarily a given that a care taker can attend a patient's doctor appointments. If I or my family members and friends should ever have a need or desire for plastic surgery, I would without a doubt highly recommend Dr. Mackay, Jacqueline, and the rest of the staff. I have always needed/wanted a breast reduction. I made sure to do my research and find the very best plastic surgeon. I found him! Dr. Mackay changed my life. I finally feel great in my body. Dr. Mackay and his whole staff make the surgery process from initial consultation to follow up care seamless, safe, and as pleasant as possible. They are all sensitive to patient needs and patient feedback. They made a very difficult surgery recovery better and the results are AMAZING!

After a lot of research Dr. MacKay was who I chose to perform my breast augmentation. Dr. MacKay was extremely professional, listened to all of my concerns, and made me very comfortable going into my surgery. I ended up going larger than he had advised, but we were both very happy with the outcome. All of girl friends who have seen and felt my breasts post surgery have asked for Dr. MacKay's information. Dr. MacKay and his staff are very professional. If I decide to have another procedure performed, I would trust Dr. MacKay and his opinion. I can't recommend Dr. MacKay and his staff enough.

I can’t believe I waited this long! It’s been 3 weeks since Dr. MacKay and PA Jacqueline performed my abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), and I am extremely happy with the results. During the entire process, Dr. MacKay was very professional, provided excellent education, and made me feel comfortable with the surgical procedure. My pre-op nurse Nancy was amazing. She made me feel at ease and excited about the procedure. I also received great care from my post-op nurse Jodi. Overall the experience was amazing and I would highly recommend Dr. MacKay and his team to anyone!

Dr. MacKay performed a breast reduction on me approximately 5 weeks ago. I am beyond excited with the results. I especially love that Dr.MacKay and his staff prepared me prior to the surgery and educated me the entire process, what a stress reliever. Did a ear surgery on my son. The ear looked worse than before. Had to have it corrected with another plastic surgeon. Dr. MacKay should have said he did not know how to fix it in the first place. I had to put my child through two ear surgeries. Please Beware.

Dr. MacKay is awesome. I have used him/his office multiple times. Butt lift, Leg/thigh lift, breast lift (due to massive weight loss and lastly and most recently a face lift. I have been thrilled by the results of each of these procedures. Dr MacKay is a perfectionist and it is apparent he loves what he does. Thats the key to awesomeness !!!!! Had a consult with Dr. MacKay about a surgical procedure I was considering. I was very apprehensive, had lots of questions. He took time with me to sit and thoroughly answer everything I asked and I never felt rushed or anxious. The rest of his staff was as personable, patient, and kind as Dr. MacKay was with me. Given his excellent reputation and his overall manner, I’m going into the procedure with less trepidation and look forward to excellent results and great patient care and follow-up.

My son had broken his nose and we were concerned that he made need surgery; however, I was unable to find a doctor to look at him prior to us going on vacation. Dr. McKay was very accommodating and scheduled my son the following day so he could be treated before he went to beach.

I have been seeing Dr. Mackay this past year after having been diagnosed with breast cancer. I had a bilateral mastectomy and he has been taking care of my reconstruction. From the initial consultation, I was very impressed. He helped us figure out which was the best reconstruction approach for me and educated us about the options out there. His bedside manner is the best! He's always kind and will explain everything always answering my questions and concerns. I had tissue expanders in for 9 months, and during that time any doctor or healthcare person that saw me remarked how good my reconstruction was looking. My daughter has had this mole type thing on her nose since she was about 1, it started to worry the doctors and dermatologist. We all decided she needed to see a plastic surgeon. We looked and looked hours of research and decided to go with Dr. Mackay because he had very good reviews, and had an amazing plan. On the 12th of March she had surgery, no problems at all. The staff was amazing with her follow up and after care. They called to check on her, were very patient with her while taking her stitches out. Everything has been absolutely PERFECT! If we ever need ANY type of plastic surgeon again, Dr. Mackay will definitely be our first choice! She still has some healing to do, but it looks beautiful!!! I was recommended to Dr Mackay by another surgeon. Apparently I do not have any idea what to expect. The first time I had an appointment with Dr Mackay, I noticed he sensed my fear and gave time to answer my questions. He showed me his works and let me know his team will be with me every step of the way, and they did. He has great staff in his office. Dr. Mackay is a brilliant and amazing surgeon. He did a wonderful job on my reconstruction and spent so much time throughout the process explaining everything and answering my questions. I could not be more pleased with my reconstruction. And his nurses, PA, and staff are so sweet and caring.

Dr. Mackay is a kind, caring, detail oriented doctor/surgeon. His PA, Jacqueline, and nurse, Robin, are just as wonderful. During Pre-op Dr. Mackay took his time to carefully measure, draw, and discuss his approach to my surgery with Jacquleine and allowed me to ask questions one more time. My experience has been wonderful. I am 3 weeks out from my reduction surgery and the recovery and swelling has been much easier to deal with than I imagined. Each time I look down I am amazed at my results.

Dr Mackay always made me feel comfortable and patiently answered my questions. Knowing I was scared of having my mastectomy/reconstruction, he would encourage me that everything would be fine. It was and I am pleased with my implants.
