EXCELLENT & METICULOUS NEUROSURGEON Dr B has done 3 spinal surgeries on me & 1 on my husband last week. I am in the healthcare field & myself, and every RN and doctor I know, RECOMMENDS him 1000%. He has literally changed my life. I have multiple problems with my spine and know future surgeries may happen but Dr B is the ONLY doc I will let touch me or any family member. He IS very straight to the point but don?t be put off by this. He will tell you if he feels surgery is not right. He?s honest. He doesn?t care about making a fast buck by performing any surgery just for the $$ like most orthopedic surgeons I know will do. I?ve gotten to know him over the years & get along great with him. He does talk very fast but just stop him & ask questions if you don?t understand. He WILL explain things to you kindly. In all honesty, would you like a super friendly doc who is horrible at surgery but sits & talks to you bedside or a PHENOMENAL doc who tells it like it is & fixes you? When I first came in, I was very afraid for my life. The nurses and doctors made me feel better every step of the way, even though it was an uphill battle. I felt so very thankful and cared for. I now have another chance at life, thanks to all you hard working and caring people. Thank God I came here to be cared for by such a wonderful staff.

He saved my brother's life almost a year ago. May 14th ,it will be a year . We actually are back in the ER for fluid in the back of his brain right now ! Riverside in Columbus . I'm certain they will figure it out. This Doctor is AMAZING! He is a true Hero. Thank you for everything you have done . Forever grateful the Rosser family.

This was the best experience. Dr. Balturshot explained everything in detail. He took his time and did not rush me. all of the pain I had before surgery is gone. My scar looks great. I would recommend him to anyone. I would come back to him again. He has great bedside manner. The staff is great.

I love his work. He made me pain free

This Dr. Was not very friendly at all! I went in for a consultation and I feel like He just came in from a meeting where he got his head chewed off so he treated me like I was a problem. He was not interested in my case because of the “whole Covid situation he can’t do surgery and he doesn’t know when anything can be scheduled. “ His exact words! This was a waste of my time money and energy. Why if I bring you all the images, and records of my problems do you ask me what the problem is then argue and talk over me that everything I’ve been told by the other doctors is a lie. MRI results don’t lie!!! I was told you were the best doctor in this field but you could really use a lesson or two on how to talk and listen to your patients. This Dr. Was not very friendly at all! He entered the room with an attitude. Asked why I was there. Interrupting me at turn and very dismissive. Very short visit not any answers. This is not my first back surgery and he actually suggested that I just deal with the pain, because the surgery would mean replacement of old hardware and installing the new and would have to be done again in the future because it’s a continuous disease. He made me feel like I should be ashamed of having a disability because of my age. I left feeling extremely angry, and sad, and depressed. He did go ahead and schedule the surgery even though he said they aren’t doing any surgeries because of Covid. I canceled anything and everything! I will not have this man near me.

I can't say enough of how thankful I am for Dr. Balturshot and his team. I had an MRI performed on 11/22/21 for severe pain from my lower back all the way down my left leg through my foot. It was extremely painful and made it very hard to walk/function. I found Dr. Balturshot through a Google search and contacted his office on 11/24/21. His team was able to get me in to meet with Dr. Balturshot on 11/30/21 and I had surgery (Left Lumbar 5-Sacrum Microdisectomy) on 12/8/21. I returned back to work on 12/16/21! My pain is 95% better and am beyond thankful and blessed with how Dr. Balturshot and his team treated me. His office staff is amazing and very responsive! His surgery team was awesome as well! The hospital staff is second to none! Dr. Balturshot is an absolute miracle worker! Office staff are extremely helpful, both in Columbus and Portsmouth. I have recommended to family/friends.

I went to Dr. Balturshot yesterday for the first time and my experience was awful. First of all let me say that the ladies at the front desk and the nurse that took me back were very nice but the doctor on the other hand was not. When he walked into my room I could already tell he had an attitude. He told me his name and never shook my hand or anything. He sat down on the table where the sink is and asked me what I was there for and started looking at my MRI. I told him I was there for low back pain and he asked me my symptoms. He told me that my MRI didn’t look bad and that he wouldn’t recommend surgery due to my age but if I wanted it then he would do it. Then he proceeded to tell me that I could possibly get injections or just live with the pain. He wasn’t at all concerned about my pain. He interrupted me several times while I was talking. He spent maybe 10 mins with me and didn’t explain anything but told me if my leg starts hurting to come back. He is very cold and callus.

How was my experience with Dr. Balturshot? Horrible. This was not my first visit, but a follow-up from a visit 3 years prior, which was not horrible, but seemed "off", in his arrogant tone describing what he would have to do to resolve the problem. (lumbar surgery) but didn't want to do it at that point. However, It got worse, had another MRI with a new neurosurgeon indicating surgery could help me. I came back to Dr. Baluturshot for a 2nd opinion. He said what are you here for? I said I was in worse pain since my last visit with him and now have to use a walker. He then interrupted me and said I do not feel you need the surgery. He said you don't even have sciatic pain, (I do, but he didn't give me a chance to respond.) I said, "what about the severe pain and can't even stand straight? He said, "Just deal with it." Say what?? I was shocked by his cold response and condescending tone. With no advice or future plans, he walked out. I was devastated. What kind of doctor does this??

Extremely rude and unprofessional. Rushed through appointment and assessment while insulting my local hospital. Acted extremely arrogant and condescending the whole time and didn’t sit down once to talk about my condition. He acted like I was wasting his time from the moment he walked in.

Does what is best for his patients weather they like it our not, great doctor

Dr. B. is very wise and very caring. I can trust no one else. He saved my life and I will always be indebted to him for that. Getting ready to see him again tomorrow for my degenerative spine.

The most amazing surgeon that you could ever ask for. He genuinely cares about you and goes above and beyond to make sure you have a great understanding of the procedures. All of his staff are caring and also go above and beyond. Can’t recommend him highly enough!!!

I cant say enough about this man . I suffered with sciatic nerve pain in my hip and right leg for 10 years . He didnt think surgery would help the pain in my hip but he said it would help the pain in my leg . I thought any relief was better than none. I had the surgery on October 15th 2020 and its March 2021now . There was days I couldn't hardly walk before surgery. I'm absolutely thrilled to say I haven't felt the nerve pain in my hip or my leg ! Still sore muscles from surgery but I'll take that any day over that nerve pain. I'm 51 and I couldn't imagine living the rest of my life in that kind of pain . I think he literally saved my life because the pain was so bad on a daily basis, I was very very depressed . Like I said I cant say enough about this man for giving me my life back . If you are suffering go see him . Even if he says there a very slim chance it will work do it . I thank god every day that I went to him and had the surgery. He is the absolute best ! I love everything about Dr. Balturshot and his staff. Surgery went great! I have had no sciatic pain since surgery on October 15, 2021! Still some soreness from surgery but I have had the best possible outcome and results. He saved my life! The best doctor ever!

I haven't had surgery yet, but I did see Dr. Balturshot for a consultation. He answered all my questions without making me feel rushed. He exhibits confidence in what he is able to do. I will definitely be going back to see him if/when the time comes for me to have spinal fusion surgery.

Dr. Balturshot has performed 2 surgeries on me, and will be doing a 3rd, and if deemed necessary there will be a 4th. I have total trust in him. I have had great outcomes from both.of the surgeries he has done. One was a brain surgery, and one was on my cervical spine. Dr. Balturshot is upfront and honest. He showed me my ct scan and explained it. He answered my questions. His staff is wonderful, friendly and caring. Doc was great with everything. Took care of me very well with every thing he did. He took care of my leg pain and the burning pain. We first met Dr. Balturshot when he did surgery on our daughter. We were very impressed with her procedure and overall treatment. When we had 1st consult for back surgery we were impressed again. Time between consult and surgery was 13 days. Recovery has been amazing. We would highly recommend Dr. Balturshot, his team, and Riverside Methodist Hospital.

Well i just left the hospital after have my 4th shunt revision done by Dr Balturshot and i am very well please. He is the best of the best thank you Dr Balturshot.

“Angel” When you think you trust your doctors and then a doctor tells you there is nothing you can do but call hospice. I could not give up. From Texas A&M to the University of Dallas and Scott & White of Bryan Texas, my next trip was to get my sister to the State of Ohio to see Dr. Balturshot. After going thru surgery myself from Breast Cancer and Reconstruction surgery on my chest, I wheeled my sister in his office on Eastwind Dr. Westerville Ohio. Two days off the plane and into his office carrying films and records of previous doctor visits he looked at me and all I could do is cry and say please help my sister. She had surgery on her neck in Texas and was in very bad shape. Dr. Balturshot put her in Riverside Hospital where he operates on her spine and cared for her and she is still with us today. When it comes to a Neurological Surgeon, Dr. Gregory Baultershot, in my opinion, is one of the finest surgeons that ever walked God's Little Green Acre. He is a skilled surgeon. If you want to place your faith and confidence in a physician who can be trusted to insure the very best outcome in your surgery, this is the doctor. I am a walking, talking example of the miracles he is capable of performing. He changed my life for the better and continues to be a positive advocate in good back health and care. He's that good!

Awesome Doctor.

Dr. Balturshot is the best of the best! I had severe scoliosis and chronic pain. He performed a lumbar fusion and now my back is straight, and I have no more pain. He has a brilliant mind, skilled surgical hands, and a kind heart.

Dr. Balturshot did a magnificent job. Very grateful I am much better and only 4 weeks in.

I am pain free now down my left leg and my bladder problems have went away.

Dr. Balturshot is a straight shooter. He helps you understand your options, risks and benefits. He is not one to rush you to surgery when conservative treatment should be tried first. When I did eventually go the surgery route I woke up pain free in the recovery room. Came recommended by other physicians and nurses.

I had a spinal fusion - rods/screws - part of the battle was the staples - once out felt better. My floor nurse for my inpatient stay was great. Dr. Balturshot is awesome. The office staff is very understanding, attentive and caring.

He is a great doctor and very good bed side maner he fixed my c5 c6 disk and after surgery he came in to talk to me witch I loved and I felt better right after surgery was in very little pain and been doing great since its two weeks post op today and im feeling almost back to normal will be telling everyone I know about dr.balturshot

With all of the phobias and scare you read about spine operations I have one explanation:you all went to the wrong surgeon. When I visited Dr.Balturshot a few years ago I had a different feeling about the whole experience. He sounded motivated,confident and very encouraging and that's because he is able to deliver . Well I was almost paralyzed by then and almost wheelchair bound after the surgery and while in the recovery room my feet were telling me to get up and walk you are not the same. Dr. Balturshot is a standout guy and great doctor. Really listens to you. The only thing is that his office staff need to work on timeliness and organization. This day of my appointment the dr was an hour and a half behind but nobody received a call to arrive maybe 45 mins later. So the waiting room was full. I was given an order to have a procedure done and the medical assistant was about 2 weeks behind in putting that order in. It was just frustrating. But Dr. Balturshot is an amazing doctor.

My wife came to see him for relief of significant neck and shoulder pain. His advice was “to learn to live with it” given in a condensing and arrogant tone. He finally sighed that if he had to do surgery (which he did not want to do), it would be a complicated one that would take a full year of recovery. He is not a surgeon who empatizes with patient’s pain and suffering. He could benefit from sensitivity training to compliment his clinical skills.

Our family member needed immediate surgery for a severe back injury. Dr. Balturshot took our case after we transferred from another hospital and worked the surgery into the end of his day. It has now been 8 weeks since surgery and we are extremely pleased with the success and progress. We are thankful Dr. Balturshot took our case and for the successful surgery. Would highly recommend this doctor.

He will tell you like it is, whether you want to hear it or not! But he is a fantastic surgeon and is clear to see he is meticulous when it comes to his work and he expects nothing but perfection! I would recommend home with a billion stars! Hope I never need another surgery, but if I do...he will be the guy that I see when it comes to the spine!
