Dr. Grace Qing Chai

I contacted Dr. Chai's office to schedule an appointment as a new patient after hearing positive feedback from my colleagues. During the call , the receptionist interrupted me and asked (Where are you from?) where I was from in broken English. I am confused by her response to my question. When I asked for her name, she replied with "Spine? quickly corrected herself said Spring “. which did not address my initial inquiry. This made me feel unwelcome and I believe they need to find a better receptionist.

Made appointment for the Dr. but the PA saw me. Dr office was very chaotic.

The front desk is very rude. My child is sick and has a serious cough. The front desk says they won't accept us as a patient. I want to know if the doctor knows what the front desk is like? If you don't accept sick patients, what are you doing as doctors?

I think the doctor should check more whether the work quality of the front desk receptionist is up to standard? Before seeing a doctor, the first thing a patient contacts is the receptionist. Will a bad reception directly affect the image of the doctor? Will it make people doubt the doctor's medical ethics?

Billing team rude and disrespectful, got billed when you only want a annual physical exam without knowing need to pay for extra items.

Terrible customer service. They failed to provide positive test results that returned 9 days ago. We had to call for results and find out for ourselves. I called to ask to speak to the nurse at 11:52am and was told to call back at 2pm since everyone is at lunch. It's not noon yet and you know I'm upset so why not attempt to resolve the situation. Best doctor good service

Dr. Chai is very experienced and professional. After they have a new receptionist, even better lol. I saw the reviews about the receptionist, I just thought Dr. Chai was too nice to her. Now they have new front desk thank god.

My mom has been going to Dr. Chai for years now. And I chose this office because I thought they were okay, at least. Put my appointment in for Wednesday morning, have my mom come with me. When I show up, there's no welcome, there's no "please write down your information right here on the red board". The receptionist pointed at it as if i should have known. She looked me up and be like "Do you have an appointment?". Should have been your first question when I opened the door. Then I asked her if my mom can get her check-up today too, if not that's fine I can make an appointment for next week. She asked me with a frown "then why didn't you make an appointment for her?". I'm just telling you... I was willing to make one, but nevermind. What comes down to was that she took my mom in. Despite me telling her multiple times that my mom has been going to Dr. Chai for years, she still gave me the new patient packet. Fine, i will fill it out. The front desk very rude, very horrible receptionist. They need to replace better one.

The Doctor is ok., not more than that. Just fill the blanks but not extraordinary. The Problem ,big, are the front desk employees SPECIALLY a lady that filters the calls and keep giving instructions to patient without being a doctor or specialist. It seems that they are desperate to charge patients. Don't go anymore.

The front desk is rude and I am annoyed they asked me to pay the copay from my pocket and meanwhile charged my insurance again for the prescription refill on the phone. I think they did this purposely, and I wont have any trust on them from now on.

I called them and provided my insurance card and triple checked with them that if I am in network since I am all good and I just want to do the preventive check. And they said yes they would take the insurance. On the day of the preventive check, I gave them my insurance card again and checked again when registering and was told my insurance will cover everything. However, after couple days of the service, my wife and I received an almost 400 dollar bill each. It turned out that our Cigna plan was not in network and we were charged out of network bill. Also, in the bill, it says the service was with Dr. Grace Chai. However, on the service day, we never saw Dr. Chai. Another young lady was in our room and asked a few brief questions like "any medicine history" to my wife and I. I was not even sure if she was qualified to be a provider. It was a 5 minutes conversation to each of us. When I called them to see what happened there, the manager of the billing department was very rude and she told us she can show mercy to us to give us a self pay rate at 150 dollars which is provided to the people who doesn't have insurance. That's absolutely not accepted since we don't think it was out fault. We checked at least 3 times with them to see how much it will cost after insurance and were told insurance would cover everything. Also, we didn't even see Dr. Chai at all. Don’t rate a doctor just because she/he is nice. It’s about her capability and skills. Otherwise I can be a doctor too because I am nice. This doctor and her staff shouldn’t be in medical. Clueless. First of all misdiagnosed me for years and now we have to treat for cancer and other doctor asked us why hasn’t dr. Chai referred me long time ago. Her staff refuse to give me our medical records saying they have to charge and then they can’t send it. I researched and told them it is illegal for them to refuse sending patient records. Very horrible receptionist. Lack of professional ethics. I also called to make an appointment as a new patient. When I spell my name, The receptionist （named Seven） pointed that my pronunciation made her spell wrong.（ when I said M she thought I said F） I’m having cold and my voice does sounds nasal. Which is not big deal. If you ask me to spell again nicely I will do it. the point is , this receptionist said it out in a very very unrespectful way. Dr. Grace Chai is a amazing doctor. I would personally recommend her. She is friendly and make you comfortable.

Very experienced doctor in metro Atlanta. She calls back several times over the weekends when our parents have semi-emergency situations. We highly recommend Dr. Chai.

Dr. Grace Chai has been our family doctor since 2017 and we have followed her to this new location. Medical record department is horrible. The lady is very very ( unacceptable) rude with her broken English. Be careful if you get their service, in the future when you need your records, you will have a very hard time to deal with them. they will not release your medical record when you need. Doctors here are great - they review your conditions and spend ample time making sure your questions are answered. They default to Western medicines but if you push for it or if your condition continues they won't give up on you like my other doctors did. I'd say that the building is starting to look run down and the receptionist can be quite short with you but I continue to come here b/c the doctors that work here helped me fix a small, annoying problem that my other doctors pretty much told me to live with. I also haven't had any billing issues here. I had a really annoying itchy throat/coughing condition that followed any sickness; any time I'd get sick I'd get a dry cough for the next month. This could happen several times a year. Previous doctors brushed it off as a post-nasal drip, prescribed things up the wazoo, and told me it'd just go away. I had this condition for 4 years before finding this practice; and I only came here b/c it was near work. Dr. Chai worked with me and solved it after 2 yrs of trying different things. We started with allergy meds like every other doctor.. and then stronger allergy medications (did that too). Even tried things to make sure it wasn't mold induced irritation (less conventional); finally she went in to a combo of home remedies - heat treatments, essential oils, dieting, etc. Knowing that my wife cooks Asian food she also made recommendations on things to try out. Called the office to request information about medical exam cost and the front desk person was extremely rude.

I read the reviews and they are true, feels like the receptionists are intentionally unhelpful and rude, seems like they only want to cater to Asian cliental and discourage everyone else using this clinic. Don't worry, I won't be back.

Our family physician for over 10 years. Staff is friendly and great with kids. Dr. Chai and Dr. Bao are great. Due to increased patronage walk in and same day appointments can be hard to come by.

I have been going to see Dr. Chai since 2010. I am so thankful to have her as my family medicine doctor. The ladies at the front desk always greet me when I come in, and are considerate to document everything carefully. I have been seeing Dr. Chai for a little over a year now. She is always kind to me. She is very good at not trying to charge me for things I don't need or want!!!! Which in my opinion, is a real problem these days in the medical field!

The front desk service is horrible. The front desk lady said she cannot find the information in the system. Then I called my healthcare provider to get the benefit plan to send to my phone. I showed the plan coverage to the front desk lady who rudely refused to check. She said she has no time to read the message on the phone. If a front desk person doesn't have time to do the work then why she is still working there? She also tried to trick my payment. I asked my preventative care is 100% covered by my plan. Is there any other charges? She said " I don't know. Either you want to do your check up or not. It's up to you." She refused to respond to patients questions and rudely pushed patients to leave. If there's an option to choose 0 star I definitely would. This place is horrible and only care about money. The 2 doctors Dr Chai and Dr Bao are pretty good especially Dr Bao, she will take an extra mile to make sure you are ok. But the front desk service is rediculous. The worse I ever seen is the skinny short hair Mindy. Her attitude and craziness should never be in the healthcare field. Learn some freaking manner and responsibility. Dr. chai is the best so I suggest you make an appointment with her. Staffs are very friendly and willing to help you with anything: my appointment is normally 0-1 day I don't have to wait like 2 months like other ripped off places.

I have known Dr. Chai for years. I think she is a wonderful doctor. I have been going to this practice for over a decade. Dr. Chai spends quality time with patients (as does her colleagure Dr. Bao), which is sadly not true for all doctors. I see some of the reviews complain about the front desk staff. While they are not as exceptional as Dr. Chai and Dr. Bao, I have never had any problems with them. I find them to be friendly and courteous. The wait times are usually reasonable if you have an appointment - better than average in my experience (and I unfortunately have too much experience with doctor's waiting rooms). The waiting room is simple with little decoration, and I find the magazine selection leaves something to be desired, but with a smartphone I am able to find something to do anyway. Sometimes I bring them some of my recently read car magazines, so people like me have something to read. Totally unlike the other doctor in the same office, she is NOT money-focused and she will NOT prescribe high-cost meds for the kickbacks. Stay away from the other one and Dr. Chai is the one you need to see.

I've been a patient for about 7 years. Dr. Chai is amazing! On the other hand the staff can tend to be rude. Maddening, after spend countless hours looking for a new doctor and then finding a doctor who accepts Medicare for new patients, I was going to be charged my full yearly deductible, even though it is now the end of February and I have met my deductible for the year. I was told that I would receive any amount left over from my charge for the visit. This type of business model is not the least patient friendly and I will be reporting to the applicable government agencies because of the potential for patient fraud.
