Dr. Girish Chiyyarath Vallabhan

Arrived at Lubbock Urology for first appointment without knowing that I would be required to give a urine sample as I wasn't informed, which would seem to be procedure. Was unable to provide quantity of sample they desired as a result. When brought to patient exam room, I briefly visited with the doctor and then was told I would get a radiology test down the hall. After the test, I wasn't brought back to the same room, instead shuffled to another room. I was also unprepared for the test they performed because the the doctor didn't explain anything of what it was about. When visiting with the doctor, my symptoms were nearly all disregarded. After leaving the clinic I received a missed call from Lubbock Urology about an advanced test that would be needed. I called back for two weeks in a week for a call-back from a nurse or the doctor to explain, no one explain. No call backs. I'm not doing advanced tests without understanding why the tests are ordered.

I cannot recommend Dr. Vallabhan more highly. Because of his skill and expertise w/ robotic surgery my prostate cancer surgery went smoothly and my recovery went MUCH faster than anticipated. I followed his directions to the letter and everything turned out just the way he said it would. I did NOT need narcotic pain relievers, just Tylenol, and 1 month after surgery I am feeling great and ready to return to work AND working out. If you are diagnosed w/ prostate cancer this is the man you MUST see. Thank you Dr. Vallabhan. I cannot recommend Dr. Vallabhan more highly. Dr. Vallabhan is the top urologist in West Texas in my honest opinion. I did extensive research and decided I was not interested in radiation therapy or the traditional radical prostatectomy. My research lead me to have robotic surgery because it is less invasive, there is less blood loss and there is a quicker recovery time. If you decide on having robotic surgery, make sure to use a urologist that has a lot of experience with robotic surgery. You do not want to be their guinea pig. Dr. Vallabhan uses the da vinci system, and I was told by a nurse at the hospital that Dr. Vallabhan has completed more robotic surgeries than all the West Texas urologists. I am so grateful to Dr. Vallabhan for fixing my bladder issues. I was totally amazed at how easy and quick the recovery process was. Not only is his robotic surgery less invasive than the traditional surgery, but his kind disposition and friendly bedside manner is extraordinary. Dr. Vallabhan made an unpleasant situation better! God has truly gifted Dr. Vallabhan with a wonderful talent which he has chosen to bless so many with...including myself. He is an exceptional surgeon as well as a fine doctor. Great DR and staff

I’m a retired MD who’s interacted with many Urologists over the decades and who’s visited with several Urologists to deal with a medical problem I was having. I can say, without hesitation, that this Urologist is the BEST I have ever dealt with. Fabulous bedside manners and phenomenal procedural outcomes.

Dr. Vallabhan is a very skilled surgeon, which is only surpassed by his compassion for his patients. My surgery was a success with zero complications and Dr. V and staff always very professional and caring in every follow-up appointment. Couldn't ask for better!

Dr. Girish Vallabhan has been my urologist for 3 years now. He was referred to me by another urologist in Lubbock. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer an I decided that I wanted to have the robotic procedure to remove my cancer. The operation went great and I was back at work in 10 days. Dr. Vallabhan and his staff have been incredible. My husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer and in the process of being treated by another local urologist - including having a surgery date. An acquaintance of my husbands called and told him not to have surgery until after speaking with Dr. Vallabhan because he was so pleased with his surgery, care, and recovery results. After going through the process of a cancer diagnosis and reading the on-line negative possible outcomes of prostate surgery, I am so thankful that we took the advise and contacted Dr. Vallabhan. His staff was very helpful and supportive through the entire process. I will give everyone with a prostate cancer diagnosis the same advice we were given - do not make any final decisions about your treatment until you have met with Dr. Vallabhan. Dr Vallabhan is an exceedingly competent, caring physician and individual. My wife and I carefully selected Dr. Vallabhan to perform a robotic prostatectomy following my cancer diagnosis. Even though he has a wonderful reputation, he does not have a big ego, and carefully listens to and addresses every question and concern. You are not simply a number, and post-surgery care is also exemplary. As a plus, supporting staff, including the front desk, nurses and other medical professionals provide a high level of efficiency, compassion and care. Your choice of physician is critical! I am glad, and blessed, that we selected Dr. Vallabhan.

I had a great time visiting with Dr Vallabahn. He was friendly, listened carefully, thoroughly explained for my symptoms and went beyond to give extra help by contacting another doctor for other related symptoms.

The front desk staff at Lubbock Urology Center was extremely rude and unprofessional especially towards the elderly patients. Dr. Vallabhan was cold and unwilling to explain his diagnosis or answer questions. He acted as if he had better things to do and I was his last priority. I will be searching for another urologist.
