Not sure why people leave bad reviews on him because of other staff. He is a five star doctor in my opinion. I went in to my appointment, was taken back maybe 10 minutes after (wasn’t busy) then maybe a total of 20 minutes after he was in the room. He was very mild mannered and not aggressive or rushing at all. He listened to everything I had to say, and it was a long thing about another ent that didn’t do his job right and so now I was there. I was there to get wax on my eardrum off that a horrible ent at another place just left in my ear causing no hearing and also my throat that the other ent rushed through and didn’t explain anything. And this guy handled all that perfectly in every way. He checked everything that needed to be checked and never was acting like he just wanted to get it done. Super nice guy and thorough at what he did. It’s hard to find doctors today that act like they even want to help you. Much less one that is polite and kind mannered. I definitely recommend.

If I could give negative stars I would. The staff was so rude and mean they caused my father to have a PTSD episode. They bent rules for their more "well off " clients obviously and were seen doing to by multiple other in need patients. With the video and pictures we have I hope to shine a light on this mean staff. Dr Ruiz is a doctors doctor. He’s the best in his field!

Dr. Ruiz and staff were outstanding!! I totally recommend them 110% Had polyps remove from my nose, and didn't feel a thing. Thanks Doc.

A warm welcome by the receiving nurse, short waiting time in the exam room, and a thorough and caring examination by Dr. Ruiz made today's visit to Ear-Nose-Throat clinic a pleasant experience. Therefore I can only heartily recommend Dr. Ruiz and his staff.

My appointment was at 4:00 and I was not called to the back until 5:15. Staff is rude and cold. While I was waiting to be called back, I was reading the negative reviews on here and I couldn’t agree more. Waited all that time to be seen for five minutes and told to come back in six weeks. I left work early for this appointment, and couldn’t be more disappointed and disgusted. The Dr. was friendly, but needs to get his staff together. They are extremely unfriendly and uncaring. Back in 2001 and 2002 Dr. Ruiz misdiagnosed me and failed to realize I had hearing loss as a baby. He treated my mother like a paranoid parent and was unsympathetic to the whole situation. He misdiagnosed me three times in a row. Luckily my mother found a different, and competent, doctor and I was taken care of properly and can now hear, speak, and otherwise communicate on the level of a hearing individual. After him essentially telling my mother that I wouldn't be able to read or write or talk normally I, in 2nd grade, was tested and was found to have the reading comprehension of a 10th grade level. Most people I meet don't realize I have hearing loss because I speak so well. 17 years later I've graduated high school and am preparing to study law at UH. This doctor couldn't have been more wrong about me and never had an ounce of compassion towards my mother. He is the best. Both my wife and I have seen Dr. Ruiz on more than one occasion. How good is he, I would recommend all of my family and friends to go to Dr. Ruiz.

I've been a patient of Dr. Ruiz for over 20 years. I have had two nasal polyp removal surgeries with him, and he is fantastic. He is a great Dr. and a great surgeon.

You will not find a more compassionate, caring, empathetic surgeon than with Dr. Ruiz. My family absolutely love him! He is so fantastic. He has the most gentle touch, he makes you feel like family. He listens to what you say and is very concerned when you are. I can't put enough good things in here about him otherwise this will become a dissertation. He is by far the most wonderful surgeon. They just don't make them like Dr. Ruiz. My 8 year old and 14 year old have been his patients since they were nine months old. Febrile seziures, ear infections, terrified mama and daddy. He settled our fears and found that tubes were the best course of action for our babies. They love him. Not to mention my own sinus surgery and my husbands reconstructed middle ear that he will not let anyone else touch. Thank you so much Dr. Ruiz for always treating everyone like family, you are a magnificent and truly a wonderful surgeon. God help us all when/if he retires. That will be a very sad day!!! He's awesome! Listens to his patients & takes time to explain things to us. Only negative things is we need two of him! He's very high in demand so it's hard to get an appointment. He's definitely well worth the wait.

Have always had to wait a long time for this doctor, but this last time left after waiting 2 hrs and was told it could still be another 30 mins or longer. If he can't schedule appointments what else can't he do???

Love Dr Ruiz. I'm just not willing to wait for an hour and a half to see him. This is a consistent problem. Too bad. He's s great doctor. They cancel your appt if you're 15 minutes late. Mutual respect is important. His staff become s pirritated oif you ask for an estimate of when you'll finally be seen. so disrespectful.

Wonderful doctor and staff; just really hard to see him if you don't mind waiting at least a month and at least an hour in the waiting room. But the wait is worth it to have Dr Ruiz carry for you and your needs.
