To the person who made a "false" review in March 2020. It appears that you're either 1) His disgruntled ex-wife or 2) One of the nurses that has shown complete incompetence and has had to have a "conversation" with him regarding your incompetence which includes; 1) Calling and wanting medicine for a patient, when told it was ordered, you said, "I didn't know what that was." 2) Pretended to be him and ordered tests to be run on patients WITHOUT his knowledge or consent through the computer 3) Informed him FOUR HOURS LATER that something happened to his patient as a "Just to let you know." His shift was OVER but he still went back to the hospital to see his patient out of concern when he got the call 4) When you page him, you don't give ANY INFORMATION including a call back phone number, patient room number, what you want, NOTHING. When he calls you, you say "I don't know" about a patient that you've had for an entire day. You "don't know" vitals, you "don't know" what PRN medications you've given nor do you know their effectiveness, you "don't know" lab results that he ordered, you "don't know" about pain, you "don't know" what type of pain it is, just "discomfort," you "don't know" if pain radiates, you "don't know" whether or not a different PRN worked, and YOU HAVEN'T READ HIS NOTES OR LOOKED AT THE ORDERS HE PUT IN, sometimes HOURS ago, nor do you know what SBAR charting is which is common standard practice in healthcare. His 4 years of medical school, his 3 years in an Ivy League residency program, and his experience of 26 years working as a MD in his field means that he DOES have more experience & knowledge than your 2 or 4 year nursing degree. There's also a different skill set and level of responsibility between the 2 jobs. He does "know" more than the nurses when it comes to "medicine" and making a "medical diagnosis." It is AGAINST STANDARD NURSING PRACTICE for a nurse to give medical advice, to make ANY medical diagnosis, write prescriptions, and write orders under someone's name. You're NOT a NP who has passed boards and you DON'T HAVE prescribing authority. Given that you're writing a review on a location that he hasn't worked at in a VERY long time, this review CLEARLY shows that paying attention to detail is NOT one of your strong suits which is CRITICAL to being a competent nurse. How do I know? I too, am a RN, and I can see through this. Dr. Bernardo is an EXCELLENT physician who will FIGHT for his patients. He will go toe to toe with ANY nurse who is NOT taking care of his patients to his standards. You're a nurse who has been butt hurt for being called out on your incompetence. This "false" review is retaliatory. You're too much of a coward to talk to him one on one, so you hide your identity behind a keyboard. This is NOT the professional way to handle a personal issue you have with him. You're the type of nurse that I wouldn't want anyone near my family including our pets!

Horrible bedside mannerism and attitude towards Nursing staff. Perception is that he is better than a nurse even though he spends 5-7 minutes in rooms with patients and doesn’t explain things, even when asked to call patients family in the room. Would not want him caring for me or my family.

This so-called doctor was rude, crude and bordered on harassment when he was in charge of the care for my mother at Saint Joseph's Hospital. Mom could not walk due to CBD (left side deficit) and fractured back (referred right side pain) yet this poor excuse of a man entered our room, whipped off the sheet that was covering my 76 year old mother's nakedness and told her to get out of bed - door wide open, no curtain. Would not speak to family whatsoever about mom's treatment. STAY AWAY!

I would never recommend this physican to care for your family member. He will not change his bedside manner until a physican like him cares for one of his loved ones. He walked out of the room while we were asking questions, without addressing our concerns, he could not give me data (lab results, etc) on my loved one nor could he explain his plan of care. This is UNACCEPTABLE in todays world of holistic and cohesive care of a patient that involves both patient and family!
