He needs to retired. Incompetent to practice.
I'm in desperate need of neurologic care. I was injured in a work MVA accident Jan 29th21. I'm RN and at the time of the accident I was working. I've been a nurse 19 years. I've received awards for my CARE as a nurse. I'm writing to say, The care I rec'd from Gerard Gerling was GROSSLY SUBSTANDARD. I came to him diagnosed with MTBI, vestibular dysfunction, unremitting headaches, light sensitivity, demyelination of nerves. Spasms 24/7 with sleep disturbance, Ataxic gait, heat intolerance During the visit, He asked questions terselyharsh tone. Forbade me from using my notebook to answer his questions. My brain shut down in panic. The visit was so overwhelming that the second visit I took my 74 yr old Christian landlord with me to bear witness to this sham. This man wears a doctor's coat and that's where being a doctor begins and ends. Ps, he performed zero physical/Neuro assessments on me.... besides squeeze my hand. Then he discharged me from workers compensation Neuro care Truth
This Doctor has lost his mind and can not be trusted.

Saw my father and was disrespectful and rude. Unhelpful. Terrible experience and no bedside manner.
Wish I could give him ZERO Stars. My best friend was referred and instead of examining him he started examining me. Never heard of a drug for Parkinson's that has been on the market for 9+ years that was prescribed by another neurologist in South Florida. I want cutting edge medicine ???? after all, It's cutting edge medicine that has helped Michael J Fox for 20 + years. You are putting your loved one at risk by visiting this QUACK. He needs a Neurologist himself. Wish I could give him ZERO Stars. My best friend was referred and instead of examining him he started examining me. … More
He was not as bad as others put in previous reviews. He is just old school and you can tell he doesn’t take any foolery. I wanted to go back to work so that is how I greeted him. So he released me... he did do a minimal exam that a doctor can do in the office. He is older and has been practicing longer then I have been alive so I’m sure he has seen a lot in his days. He is horrible. The only reason he has a 1.3 is because he rated himself a 5
Complete joke! Spent 10 minutes testing my reflexes, having me bend forward and turn my neck. Magically, in that 10 minutes, he determined I require no further treatment. My spinal doc and my MRI do not agree....
My husband has Parkinson's Disease. We were both in tears by the time we left. Never have I seen a physician treat a patient with such disrespect and contempt as he did my husband. Hateful, rude and said our referring physician didn't know the difference between a Psychiatrist and a Neurologist. Laughing now because I see he has given himself a five star rating on here. The worst doctor I have ever seen. So old he can’t form a coherent sentence. Apparently believes you can’t have a concussion (as I was diagnosed by other doctors) because I did not lose consciousness; the CDC specifically reports most concussions do not result in the lose of consciousness. Told me my injury wasn’t on a CT scan given 4 weeks after the injury, in addition to the fact that concussions generally don’t show on MRI or CT scans - as confirmed by another doctor. He has absolutely no bed side manner. Does not care about anything more than getting paid for what he “should” say. Patient care is the least of his concern. He clearly worked with my workers comp insurance company - which is why I had to wait weeks for a consult in the first place. Barely gave me an exam but instead interrogated me about the happenings of the accident that I had already been over with my adjuster and frankly had nothing to do with him. He should have been focused on my injuries. He had no regard for my symptoms or anything else. I was warned about him being a quack before I got there. On my follow up I barely sat down for 15 seconds before he was shooing me out of his office with no information on my work status or anything else. Would not recommend him to anyone. No idea how he has any awards in his office because he was AWFUL. The worst doctor I have ever seen. So old he can’t form a coherent sentence. I took my wife to see Dr. Gerling. Because of the scripts she was carrying, he gave the impression he thought we were doctor shopping and advised us to go to another doctor. I should have taken his advice. He gave us no information regarding the condition we had gone to him for. Alltogether he was totally useless. And rude with him is an understatement.
He should lose his license and visit a competent neurologist himself.
Unfriendly, anytime someone says “well what do you want me to do about it” is short sided on the people meter. I’m referring to a friends appt and I had gone with her.
The worst doctor. He lies to the automobile insurance stating all your injuries are pre-existing, when in fact the injuries are due to the automobile accident. HOW DID HE BECOME LICENSED TO BECOME A MEDICAL DOCTOR? He appears to be like a paid liar who should not be allowed to lie constantly while doing independent medical exams. A VERY DANGEROUS DOCTOR. Why do the insurance companies hire him for IME's because he is willing to lie and deceive and cause great harm to people. Horrible person. The worst doctor. All it took was 2 visits of being treated like dirt and I can't take it anymore. Every sentence started with "I don't care". I have serious memory problem, and because I can't afford $500 for copays on images, he talked down to me, wouldn't let me express any opinion, and blew me out the door. ATTENTION!,Don't walk, but run from this guy. I'm a grown man, and I left in tears. No compassion at all. With all the bad reviews, this guy should be reported. Hmmmmm. My wife was being seen by him for one sided weakness/numbness, he saw her for a consult, asked 4 questions- none of which were even neurological in nature and then told her he couldn't help her... reviewed none of her scans/paperwork/medical history and refused to treat her. "People usually come to me when they don't know what else to do, and I cannot help you." The guy literally never even asked a single focused question, my wife and I both work in medicine - this man needs to retire. He literally is a joke to the profession and I'll be filing a formal complaint against him with the hospital and possibly the Florida Medical Board as well. My appointment was to assess a neck injury and pain level. Dr. Gerling made me feel rushed when arriving at my appointment. His questioning for history of my injury was very scattered in sequence. He repeated questions as if he hadn't listened to any of my previous responses. The staff offered to stay for the exam and he refused her offer. When the physical portion of the exam began, Dr Gerling told me to stand up and face away from him. He then instructed me to bend over forward. At that time with no warning or permission requested, he grabbed both of my hips with his hands. I then demanded for a female staff member to be present. I did not see this supposedit doctor in his office but my insurance company wanted me to see this quack at a local physical therapy office. I was recently in a car accident and had severe neck pain. I never had neck pain in my entire life until this accident. So I had multiple test done to prove my case. Once I arrived at the location of the appointment the doctor came in didn't even introduce himself and wanted me to sign paperwork. Once I did that he took me over to a table might I add this was at a physical therapy location so this was out in the open with about ten other individuals in the building and started asking me personal health questions. Then he started reading my test results and stated that I had made health claims that I had never made. Then after all the questioning he forcefully grabbed my neck for evaluation and then tested my reflexes. That was my whole evaluation and he was very very rude. I found this whole appointment useless because he violated the HIPPA law asking me personal information in a open area. I would not recommend this doctor to my worse enemy. I got a referral from my primary physician to see this doctor and was able to see him promptly. I found the doctor and his staff very friendly and efficient. My exam was for testing nerves in my arm that were giving me trouble. I was thoroughly informed of what to expect before the skillful doctor performed the fascinating testing with the assistance of two staff members. He was able to pinpoint my nerve problems quickly. I would highly recommend this practice.

Spent literally 5 minutes with me, 4 of which were of him sitting silently reading my history, asked me 3 questions, no physical exam and promptly diagnosed me and sent me out with 2 prescriptions. Waste of time. Seemed annoyed by my presence.
He was one of the rudest people I have ever met. He treats you like an addict before even saying hi how are you. Extremely judgmental. Said that headaches are subjective and there are no tests to diagnose them. Put simply he is an ass. I wouldn't recommend him to treat a pile of dirt.

He is rude, unresponsive to questions and is the only doctor I know that thinks he is psychic as he performed a diagnosis without an examination or moving from his chair.

I wouldn't send or recommend this doctor to anybody. First, I was sat in a back room, I heard a doctors voice yelling my name, and ten stating "Im in here" I had to go to find him. Next he looked over my paperwork that I filled out, asked me what my problem was. I explained to him that I was diagnosed with neuropathy several years ago, had recently moved to the area, and was looking for a new doctor in this area to transfer my care to. He stated that he could not help me. He said that "we dont help people looking for drugs, nor do I prescribe them." Mind you, I was not looking for controlled substances, only what I had been ordered by my other neurologist. I am on an anti inflammatory, and he stated that there is no scientific proof that this particular medicine helps in neuropathy pain. I told him that it helped dull my pain, but I was very sensitive to most other drugs. He quickly kicked me out of his office stating that I am too young to have these symptoms. I'm confused about this since he clearly never examined me. Never took a look at my feet/legs, never asked for my test results, never even asked me to take my shoes off. I am a registered nurse, so I do understand that sometimes people do abuse the system, but I also learned that when I have nerve conduction tests ect to prove that I have a condition, I am probably on the medications for a reason. If this doctor claims he "does not do that", then maybe he should not be listed under neurology, and his secretary should stop accepting patients that he "doesn't do." I didn't know there was a minumum age for pain, or needing help. This doctor is 73 years old. I think it might be time for him to retire considering he is just a mean, cranky, grouchy old man. I will not be recommending this doctor to anybody including my patients. I wouldn't send or recommend this doctor to anybody.
