I walk today because of Dr. Schell! He is a miracle worker!!! I was in a very serious car accident and this man saved me! He never gives up on you or your condition! Never!!! He's the BEST! I highly recommend him!

Dr. Schell has done a great job on all he has done. And I would trust him w/ my future surgery I will have. I have had 4 procedures thus far and they have worked out great

I would highly highly recommend Dr Schell to my friends and family. I previously had a Neurosurgeon prior to Dr Schell. Who was down right a know it all! Dr. Schell is to the point but I like that he doesn’t give up on you and he is willing to do more surgery or procedures to relieve the pain. I have had to have numerous procedures and surgeries by Dr. Schell and I will dread the day he Retires! I really like his Medical Assistant and nursing staff! The sweetest girl ever!

Wife had surgery with him. Awful experience. In more pain after surgery and he wouldn’t listen for weeks. Finally did testing ended up with staph infection. They never even followed up. Worst care ever. Ended up at Beaumont with excellent care.

Dr Schell has taken good care of me, Hes not just a brilliant Dr he is a kind person. He listens and makes me feel safe and confident with the surgeries I have had. Would not go anywhere else

I had one surgery with Dr. Schell. He did a procedure during surgery that he never discussed with me. It ended up causing me a lot of unneeded pain. I think he is an average doctor and would have given him a three star rating if it were not for his staff. The staff are rude and unprofessional. It takes months to get scheduled for surgery. I was to have a second surgery with him and the staff scheduled me for the wrong surgery. Dr. Schell did not realize this until I was in the holding room and I was next in line for surgery. I got no apology from the surgery scheduler and she never called me again to schedule me for the correct surgery. I switched doctors and am very happy I did.

Dr. Schell did surgery on my husband and it couldn't have gone better!! He is an excellent surgeon and if not for him, my husband would be a quadriplegic. He was very thorough and caring. His staff was wonderful and made us all very comfortable during a stressful time. I could not recommend him enough for anyone in need of a good surgeon!

Dr. Schell performed back surgery on my husband 3 years ago which turned out to be a disaster. He ended up with drop foot and a massive infection in the hardware that was put in. He lost 50 pounds, had to be on IV antibiotics for several months at home, had a wound vac and now has been left with the inability to walk without a walker or cane and still has unbearable pain most of the time. He went from being an avid golfer to an invalid. Dr. Schell assured him he would have him back playing golf within a few months following surgery. We have not recommended him to anyone.

Professional a d humane neurosurgeon who saved my life.

This has been the most comfortable surgery I've ever had, not that I've had many, but just saying. The doctor and staff have been great, and there have been no surprises, which I like. All in all, I would recommend Schell Spinal, Dr. Schell, and spine surgery as a solution for lower back pain

Dr. Schell was exceptionally exhaustive and described every method in detail. I felt extremely sure about his capacities to play out the strategy he felt would be useful.

The spinal fusion went very smoothly. Everything explained, and follow-up was consistent so that the procedure was successful.

Dr. Schell saw me for low back pain I had suffered with for a very long time. Using an MRI, he spotted the problem, confirmed it during my first visit, and recommended an injection, which I agreed to. I experienced instant and complete relief! With the help of the team at Schell Spinal, I feel at least 30 years younger! Not my first experience with this office, just my latest. I will never seek another orthopedic office. These people have earned my trust and loyalty. I highly recommend this office for all spine care

Had outpatient treatment for sciatica on the right side with good results. Could not have been happier.

For several years I tried many things to fix my back pain including rhizotomies, injections, chiropractors, physical therapy, nerve blocks, you name it. Nothing ever worked and finally a doctor recommended I have an MRI. I found out that that I had a herniated disk at L4 and L5. I researched for several months and contacted Dr. Schell. Had a surgery earlier this year and have done better ever since. Highly recommend

I am so thankful to be pain free today thanks to Dr. Schell. The back pain determined my lifestyle for around 2 years. I was very limited and couldn’t do much. Now 10 months after surgery on my lower spine, I have no pain and can do whatever I want to!

Painless surgery. Up and walking a few hours after start of surgery. I woke up the next morning, at 4 AM not from pain but to go to restroom. I felt no pain whatsoever. I felt so good for the first time in 8 years that I didn't go back to bed. I just kept walking around enjoying no pain. It's been a year now and still feel great.

After being on pain meds for over 12 yrs and 3 surgeries over the years, this is now my 4th surgery and am free of pain meds! Just AMAZING, I reccomend Dr. Schell...highly!

Dr. Schell has been correcting my back problems as they appear over the last 14 years. Each time i needed new fusion in my vertebrae's, it 100% took with no pain and only limited loss of mobility.

He is a horable surgeon, 2 surgeries a week apart and wantd to do a 3rd. Got 2nd opinion and new surgeon. Had Mri's from before and after both surgeries with him. New surgeon said He never got it, New surgeon did 3rd surgery on same disc, and I woke up without pain every since. Dr.Schell is a hack

Well, to start, my life has changed forever. I have no quality of life. My laminectomy ruined my life. Total backfire. Lt. leg with neuropathy, walking with cane. Serve pain and spasms. would never, ever go back.

Doctor Schell done a lumbar fusion on me in March and he was great, he has sat down with me and went into detail of what was going to be done and why. he was ready to go the morning of surgery and explained to my husband step by step of what was going to go on, after surgery he’s still been awesome and always answers any questions I have no matter what! Hands down the best in my book!

Dr. Schell is the best. At 16 years old, I ruptured a disk in my lower back. I was in terrible pain with a lot of numbness in my legs. I had x-rays, injections, physical therapy, and numerous rounds of medications, including steroids. Finally, I was able to see Dr. Schell. He told me that my MRI and symptoms did not line up. I went in for surgery and he found more nerve impingement than the MRI showed and in several spots that were not shown. I felt immediately better. I went on to play HS basketball and football, ultimately earning a college football scholarship. No other doctor believed that I had the problems that I had, only Dr. Schell and he fixed my back and gave my life back to me.

Dr.Schell saved my life and my mobility. My soon was 1 when I had received shocking diagnosis that of I slipped and fell on ice, trip and fall that I could become paralyzed from my neck down. He's now a running 5 year old full of energy and I'm right there with him. Thank You!!!

The staff is rude, slow to get tests scheduled, they argue with patients and doesn’t matter if you are in severe pain or not, they don’t have training or knowledge in patient care. Their web site and paper work is the only site talking about how if patients are rude trying to get medication they will not be seen however they are rude, unprofessional, no matter what you call for.

He is a quack and doesn't care that he causes years of pain to your life. My new surgeon spent 13 hours reparing this man's mistakes.

After having a few previous back surgeries in Port Huron , Dr Schell performed more to relieve my pain every time ! I was the first patient to have the SI Joint That Dr Schell performed in Saginaw. I would highly recommend Dr Schell to any person having back related injuries or pain.

Office staff is very rude and unprofessional. Had to call multiple times to schedule an urgent appointment.

I broke my spinous process, #6. In 1998. It didn’t heal properly, i had a new, hot shot neurosurgeon, in Flint perform a laminectomy. It never fused and the pain continued. My close friend, who had Dr Schell perform a laminectomy on her, mentioned his name in passing She talked how kind and proficient he had been with her. When it was my turn, I turned to Dr Schell. It was nineteen .Years ago last summer. If I should ever need a neurosurgeon, I’d call Dr Schell. Carol Kerry Flushing, MI

Most of the office staff are very ride. They barely give you any information, they never answer the phone or return calls. When I asked to speak to a manager they told me to wait and I never saw anyone. The Flint location looks like it popped up overnight, no T.V., music, or magazines in the waiting area. There was a miscommunication about anistigia that they're not set up for, the doctor said we could just reschedule then and started to walk out of the room like he could care less.

Dr. A he'll put the wrong plate in my neck. The plate slipped and broke my neck. Dr. Sales I had to correct his mistake.

Dr Schell has more experience in spine surgery than anyone in Michigan. Incredibly caring, and very very skilled surgeon. This is the go to guy for spine surgery in Michigan

I had 360 lumbar fusion done to my lower back. I have not had any problems. Dr. Schell is my hero. I also had cervical surgery on my neck. I'm still experiencing alot of burning but will b following up with him on this. I don't have any problem referring him to others. He truly cares about his patient's & explains procedures. I also absolutely love Deckerville Hospital their stuff is always amazing. Great little hospital!!

Dr.Schell did my lower lumbar, as well as 2 anterior fusions on me. He's a Blessing in my life, my hereo ..my angel. He and his staff are amazing hard working people.. They Really do care about you and your feelings. Even 5th floor at covanent were amazing with his pt's...I am thankful for all you..thank you and god Bless you all and Dr.Shells for the gift to heal so many

5 weeks since surgery and doing good. He thoughtfull , caring , and a very good surgeon. But his office staff are the worst people I have ever. They are rude,mean,and uncaring. I get yelled at and they even hung up me. I was told to not call there any.more. Now what kind office is that. I would like to talk about my questions, but cannot.

I had shots done in my back and he hit the nerve it Worst experience ever! 1 month later I went to his office to talk about my back and he fell asleep during our conversation!!!! I walked out and never went back!

After having 3 Dr's do 7 surgeries on my back, Dr.Schell has been most informative before surgery and concerned after. His education and experience is beyond any other Specialist in the same field. I have had 5 surgeries with Dr Schell having success with each one. I was his first SI Joint patient in 2011, I am now experiencing nerve pain from that surgery which he will correct next month . I would highly recommend Dr. Schell for consultation and surgery for any procedure needed.
