I have to say that my husband was lucky enough to have Dr. Colvin, in the end game. I really wish that we had the opportunity to have him right from the beginning of our journey, but that was not the case. Dr. Colvin was the only one that worked feverishly to help my husband have some semblance of "quality of life" and he was honest with us. I would recommend Dr. Colvin to anyone. Very kind, caring and truly is out there to help people! I can't thank him enough.

I was also shocked and disheartened when I found he had just disappeared without any notice. My endocrinologist who is a friend of his said he is at RWMC. If anyone finds him please let us all know! He was, by far, the best dr I’d ever had at SCH. After losing my Favorite surgeon (And Dr Colvins good friend) Dr Dowd, to a massive heart attack, I feel so sad To have lost Dr Colvin!!

Yes, I agree with the past insert that Dr. Gerald Colvin was and I am sure still is the best Doctor I have ever had also. Please let me know if you find him. I have been all over the internet trying to google search him in numerous states. Dr. Colvin seems to have disappeared. I called Providence again today with no luck of anyone knowing where he is. Last week, I was in the hospital at the receptionist's desk. I asked if they knew where he was, they even searched on their computers and found nothing. A man was sitting in a chair across from the desk and told me to come over to him. He told me that Dr. Colvin was at roger Williams Hospital. I called today and asked them to search for me, they said he is not there. Anyone?

Dr. Colvin is the best physician I have ever had. He is the most kind, caring, & patient centered physician I have ever encountered. He is brilliant, tenacious, and reassuring every step of the way. He worked diligently to make sure, as well, that there was a patient-friendly, local cancer treatment option to better serve patients & their families. I will be forever grateful to have known Dr. Colvin and to have been able to call him my doctor. As far as South County Hospital-it is a tremendous breach of patient trust to have a physician there one day and gone the next- with no notice or word to patients. Send us a letter; provide some info-even if only to say that he is well, but has stepped away from the hospital; tell us he retired; or, that he moved- anything really! To have not even sent a letter to his patients- who care about him very deeply- is irresponsible, unkind, and has left people bewildered. I would follow Dr. Colvin anywhere, but have lost faith in SC Hospital.

Superb! South County hospital is without the best doctor they ever had. It’s a terrible loss. What a loss for this hospital. Please tell us where he is. As his patient I feel abandoned and scared, but I feel it’s the Hospitals responsibility. hospitals

Dr. Colvin is hands-down, the very best physician I have ever encountered. I first met Dr. Colvin when I was sent to the hospital for infusions and was scheduled in to also see Dr. Colvin at his first available appointment- three weeks out- which I actually thought was reasonable. He had his office call me to instead come in around noon the next day. He spent an extensive amount of time with me. He was compassionate, knowledgeable, and kind. I felt hopeful and really knew that he cared about me. I noticed on the way out that a luncheon looked to have been set up in the back and staff were enjoying this- it appeared that Dr. Colvin had fit me in on his brief lunch. In all my interactions with him, he always put the patient first. He saw me many times after that, even as he and others were able to move across the street to open the South County Cancer Center. I remember his pride in that accomplishment, but more so his strong belief in having cancer treatment available within local communities. He showed me many of the patient-centered details that he hoped would make treatment easier and better for patients. I have never known a doctor who was more patient-centered, caring, compassionate, and such a truly good person. I will be forever grateful to have had Dr. Colvin as my doctor. He is brilliant, top of his field, and he truly cares about his patients.

Excellent doctor been with him for 5 years, he’s dedicated caring who cares about your overall health. I want to no where he is there not saying at the office shame on them.

Dr. Colvin is the best, most caring, and compassionate person I have ever met. He has gotten my son through 4 very difficult years. Dr. Colvin is a doctor others doctors should strive to be. He listens to his patients and does everything he possibly can and then some! He will work with other doctors on your behalf, battle with insurance companies, and he keeps digging until he finds answers. Our healthcare system would be so much better if we had more doctors like Dr. Colvin! His staff is beyond excellent as well!

Dr Colvin is the epitome of the perfect physician. Empathetic, thorough, unwilling to drop a problem until he has ascertained what the problem is, and how it will be resolved. Tenacious and kind, Dr Colvin makes sure that his patients are secure and understand what their issues are and how he will help. And help, he does. Even if it’s outside his hematology arena. He takes care of the WHOLE patient. And there is no doubt that he is passionate and devoted to his profession. I am very blessed to have him as my physician.
