This is truly a five star team! The office area is clean and well maintained and the staff are welcoming and professional. Dr. Chan is a detail oriented dentist who truly cares about the patient. He always has ideas on how to improve your dental health and utilizes the latest technology.

Dr Chan has been my dentist for over 20 years and I could not be more grateful. His personal knowledge of my dental issues and his technical skill have combined to keep my teeth healthy for years ! I know folks who've had poor dentist in the past and are now rebuilding. As an engineer, I appreciate how Dr. Chan has approached his work - he actually develops a strategic plan for healthy teeth - he thinks long term and he "builds to last!"

Dr. Chan has been my dentist since I was 2 years old. 25+ years later, he’s still my dentist! My parents and siblings also still go here too! Whenever anyone asks me if I know of a great dentist and dental team, I always recommend Gaithersburg Dental Care (it’s worth the drive if you live far!). Dr. Chan is the best dentist I have ever had the pleasure of having in the Gaithersburg and Montgomery Village area. He is professional, personable, and an amazing dentist and person. The team at Gaithersburg Dental Care is equally as amazing in that they are extremely friendly and accommodating to your needs. After being frustrated for years about not being able to set an appointment with other dentists in the area, I am glad to have found a dentist that has appointments available. I have been going to Dr Chan for more than a decade. He did Invisalign for me and my teeth are now perfect. He has done a number of dental procedures and everything he does is beyond perfect. He is also one of the nicest people in the world. He actually rode his bicycle to my house one weekend to deliver my retainers. Love his entire practice.

My wife and I have been patients of Dr. Chan since 1989, only four years after he started practicing! We have crowns which are still holding, one more than 20 years. That’s amazing! Our three children went to Dr. Chan also. I heard from my 34 year old son last week who broke his front tooth in half as a child three separate times, that his new dentist reviewing his dental records, could not tell which of the front teeth was the one that had been cut in half. There’s good, and there’s amazing. I’ve been going to Gaithersburg Dental Care for a very long time now! Dr. Chan is the best dentist that has worked on my teeth! He has gentle hands and always gives good explanation of any work or procedure that needs to be done. He also gives a little warning in anticipation of the next step he is about to do. His dental hygienists have all been (are) very friendly and kind. His front desk staff are always professional and nice. I don’t ever recall having to wait a long time from my appointed time. I have been a patient at Gaithersburg Dental Care since 1988. Back then I had a number of dental issues. The biggest issue was trusting dentists. I had a number of dentists in the past who seemed to be quite judgmental, unconcerned with the anxiety I was feeling, and other dental concerns. I came across Dr. Chan at Gaithersburg Dental Care way back then. He was a young dentists at the time. We got along well at the very start. He was quite different in his approach. An approach that was inviting, understanding, and care for those he provided dental service. I had many dental problems and his approach to care was timely and we dealt with the problems one by one. One of the biggest problems was the need for implants. I got the implants with no issues and with the greatest dental care I have ever expected. Imagine that. Very professional, compassionate with exemplary attention to detail- ????

At the beginning of the year, all three of my family members needed better dental care urgently due to the unique conditions each of us were experiencing. For me, I had a failed implant installed by another dentist years ago and it was really bothering me, and for my wife and daughter, they needed to straighten their teeth. So, we switched to Dr. Chan at that time after hearing great things about him. Dr. Chan examined each of us carefully and came to the right diagnosis and went over the procedures in details with us. It’s been long processes and the progress has been excellent. Dr. Chan is such a perfectionist and just wanted to make sure our smile looks perfect. Dr. Chan and his team are absolutely outstanding. My family has been connected with his practice for a couple of years and we have ONLY had exceptional experiences. I recently had a major oral procedure and I was so surprised that I experienced ZERO pain from the beginning to the follow-up. I have had other procedures in the past with other wonderful and competent dentist and I have always felt that initial sting of the numbing medicine. With Dr. Chan, I felt absolutely nothing. I was so pleasantly surprised! My mother-in-law who had multiple procedures with him always expressed the same for all her procedures. If you have any fear of pain with dental procedures then look no further! He is absolutely amazing!! He is kind, caring, and incredibly knowledgeable. I am updating my review below now that I am all done with my treatment. I wish I could give Dr. Chan more than five stars because I am happy beyond belief with my results! The entire invisalign process went very smoothly, correcting my bite so that it is perfect. And my veneers are perfect as well! I have gotten so many compliments! Not only that, but the retainer I wear at night now (instead of a mouth guard) is very comfortable and was designed to deal with my nighttime clenching. Dr. Chan has many years of experience working with invisalign and doing veneers, and he is indeed a perfectionist. I highly recommend you see him if you need to correct your bite, or just want a more beautiful smile. You won't be sorry! I went to see Dr. Chan for a second opinion about my front teeth that were damaged due to my bite continuously changing. He recommended I do invisalign to correct my bite so the front teeth no longer hit and to fix many other issues with my teeth (the lower ones are crooked and inconsistent in height, for example) before repairing the broken teeth. Repairing the damaged teeth with crowns as my original dentist suggested would not solve the problem and I would probably end up damaging some teeth again. I agreed to do the invisalign. I have been to the office a few times for the upfront procedures including xrays and pictures etc., and I got my first set of aligners yesterday. I can't say enough good, positive things about Dr. Chan and his entire staff. He takes time to speak with me on each visit and answers all of my questions. I can tell that he is a perfectionist and I know my teeth will look amazing when he is done. I also can't say enough about how friendly, knowledgable and helpful Maria, the dental assistant, is. Dr. Chan is the only dentist I will see. I have been going to his practice since I was a kid. Unfortunately, in my early twenties due to insurance reasons I had to go elsewhere and I was borderline traumatized by those experiences for many years. When I was emotionally ready for dental visits again, I made a beeline for Dr. Chans office and have been beyond thankful and happy to be back. I have since brought both of my kids to see Dr. Chan; him and his staff have been nothing but wonderful with them as well. It was very important to me that my kids have positive experiences at the dentist to help cultivate a lifetime of good dental care. With my oldest, we have previously tried a specifically pediatric dentistry practice and you just can't compare. Dr. Chans office is by far a superior experience in every way possible. I am glad I found this office! I have had some great experiences and some not-so-great experiences with dentists in the past. Add my visits at Gaithersburg Dental Care to the list of EXCEPTIONAL experiences. The office staff is super friendly and inviting. They create an atmosphere of warmth and you can tell that they genuinely enjoy their jobs and each other. When teams appreciate one another, it translates into good customer experiences. The hygienist, Jen is awesome! She is fantastic at what she does. She is thorough and thoughtful as conducts her sessions ensuring that you understand what she’s doing. Dr. Chan is the best dentist I've ever had and will probably ever have. I never want to go to another dentist for the rest of my life. Through cleanings, fillings, root canals and crowns he and his team have talked me through every step, made sure I knew exactly what was going to happen, and respected the constraints of my small mouth and anxiety over my gag reflex. He corrected my bite with invisalign and gave me veneers to replace my top front teeth, one of which had chipped due to my nighttime clenching. My bite is now perfect and my veneers are beautiful! I never write reviews but I wanted to take the time and write one for the office because it is well deserved. The staff and Dr. Chan makes sure you feel welcomed and comfortable and it seems genuine. They went over every single procedure very thoroughly, explained everything to me because they know that I am not fond of going to the dentist in general. They only want whats best for you and they do not try to scam you for more money which I have unfortunately experienced. I have stopped going to dentist's because they have all been bad experiences but Dr. Chan debunked that for me. Although I pay out of pocket, it is 100% worth it. Dr. Chan is an excellent dentist and his staff are top-notch. I just got my teeth cleaned and felt very safe. Dr. Chan and the whole staff have done a fabulous job ensuring the office is clean and safe including hepa filtration units to taking ur temperature and ensuring SD etc. I have received the best care for my teeth including taking advantage of Invisalign treatment in my sixties to ensure that I have healthy teeth and correct jaw alignment, both key to a healthy life! Dr Chan is out of network for me and I won’t go to anyone else (I’ve been to A LOT of dentists and had work done on all my teeth). He has done crowns and cosmetic work on my teeth and he’s excellent. He answers any questions, takes his time, and is very thorough and detailed. I’m very particular about my teeth and I trust him completely and we talk through every minute detail with each procedure. He has had to fix the shoddy work of other dentists in the area and I’m so glad to have found him. Posting on behalf of my Grandma, I took her to see Dr. Chan after she underwent an urgent dental surgery. She has been absolutely thrilled with the level of care she has been receiving from both Dr. Chan and all the staff. He is correcting problems that had been severely mismanaged by previous dentists. Very happy that I was able to link her up with this office. The staff is friendly and professional, they do amazing work, take plenty of time to explain everything to her and she has been raving about how great it has been ever since the first visit. Dr. Chan is a very caring and fabulous dentist. He is very gentle when working on a patient, always asking the patient if he/she is doing okay. I would recommend him for all types of dental work. His staff is also very caring. I would not hesitate to use Dr. Chan as your family dentist.

There are three things I like and admire about Dr. Gerald Chan and his dental practice. First, he and his team care 100% for their patients; second, they know dentistry and provide patients with the right information; third, they are skilled perfectionists in the art of dentistry. There is a saying, “people want to know that you care before they care what you know.” Dr. Chan and his team demonstrate this saying from the time they first meet you and throughout your treatment. You will have an underlying sense of this caring attitude at every appointment or phone conversation. That includes the follow-up call I received after my procedure. Knowledge is critical when it involves dental care. Dr. Chan’s 30 years of dentistry are evident when he discusses the condition of your teeth and gums, and the options for treatment. He has a critical eye that spots issues, then provides an informed assessment that allows you to decide. Skilled perfectionist is the term I use to describe Dr. Chan and his team. From the detailed examination at your first appointment to the intricacies of any type of procedure, they demonstrate the depth of their skills and talents. I have been going to Dr. Chan for over 25 years. I have a phobia with dentists due to experiences as a kid, and the first time I ever had work done by Dr. Chan I knew I was in the right place. He made me feel comfortable, and the lidocaine injection was virtually painless - even with the injection being above the front teeth (and you know how painful that can be). He has always been patient, caring and concerned to make sure I am comfortable. What I also like about him is that he continues to study and get better at dentistry. When I first visited Dr. Chan, I had given up on having healthy teeth. Going to the dentist meant pain! I had spent thousands of dollars only to have to have the same areas retreated again and again. Dr. Chan taught me that, after everything I'd been through, I could have a healthy smile. He is gentle, conscientious, and very skilled. He thinks through every problem to give his patients the best possible experience and result. His office is warm and inviting and all his staff members are the best! There are a lot of dentists around, and there are a lot of bad dentists. Dr. Chan is about the best you can find. He is professional, clearly explains any work that needs to be done, and is very particular about his work. His staff is always friendly and very capable. His office is beyond clean and pleasant. I would recommend him to anyone.

I've been to dentists throughout the country for more than 50 years. Dr.Chan is the best I have seen for both routine maintenance and complex restorative procedures.

My first time was a great experience. The staff was very friendly made me feel comfortable. During my cleaning, the hygienist talked through every step and was very informative. Plan to go back again:-)

This was the most pleasant cleaning I’ve had. I don’t usually write reviews but Jennifer deserves some recognition. She was very thorough with explaining everything and very knowledgeable. I also cane out feeling clean Without my mouth hurting like I’ve left some places. I’d highly recommend.

I would highly recommend Dr Chang and his amazing team, he did my crown buildup and took his time to ensure that my bite was perfect along with some other work that I needed. His assistant, Maria does an amazing job of making you feel at ease and is so in touch with Dr Chang that it makes the process seamless!

I don’t often write reviews, but I just left this visit with such a positive outlook and feeling. From the first time I called, the woman who answered the phone and provided the scheduling options and information, was nothing short of fantastic. Upon arrival this morningc I was instantly greeted with enthusiasm and professionalism. I was a few minutes late, and I forgot my new patient forms. This was no issue at all with them, and I was quickly taken back to hand my exam and cleaning. The dental hygienist was nothing short of exceptional. She was quick, funny and very informative. She took every possible opportunity to explain each and every thing; Mind you, this was my first dental visit in many years. Dr. Chang came in towards the end and was equally enjoyable. He’s very friendly, humble and comes of as someone who generally is there to help and take care of his paitents. There’s no accident that this practice is reviewed so highly. I’d be confident to say this is among the very best in the Washington DC area. I can tell they keep their staff small and to keep only the best and most positive people. You can tell they really care and love their job, and they have a family atmosphere. Suffice to say, I won’t be using another dental office as long as they let me come back!
