I went there today for a eye exam. I went there in 2020 and 2021 when it was called eye trends and had great customer service. Today, the assistant who helped me did not know what he was doing and had to call for help from someone else. Dr. Wong in the previous years would give me the pupillary measurement so I can buy glasses online. This year however, she refused and told me to talk with the person trying to sell me their expensive glasses. I am not please with the service and will likely get my eye exam somewhere else next year. Don't go if you just need a eye exam otherwise they will try to make you buy their overpriced glasses. Update. I got a call from the eye center where if I had comeback they would be able to get me my pupillary measurement. Since they tried to fix the issue I will raise it to 2 stars. But it should not have gotten to this point. Also , when I went back I was told that they normally don't give out the pupillary measurements so if you just want an eye exam to buy your glasses online. don't come here . Go somewhere else. .

Love Dr Z but the office is now under new management and the service is terrible!! They are rude and do not care about loyal customers at all. They walk away from you when you are talking, they hang up on you, they blame all issues on someone else and did I mention they are RUDE!

If I can give them 10 stars, I would. Great service from every single person at that place. Harold, Gina, and Dr. Zaibak stand out. Everyone is very willing to help and extremely responsive. The quality of their glasses is great, price are good and the store is very clean and well maintained. I’ll always recommend this place!

I have been going to Dr. Zaibaq for over 10 years. It use to be Eyetrends. Now it is Memorial Vision Center. Usually I have always been pleased with the service and Dr Zaibaq. In October I went in to use my benefits before they expired 12/31.21. I saw Dr Zaibaq got new Prescription for eyeglasses. I chose a round pair of Calvin Klein tortoise wire eyeglasses. Ample room for my progressive lens. When I picked them up I was handed my glasses. He did not check them adjust them on my face. He was in a rush to get me gone. Well of course as I started to wear the glasses the vision PD appeared to be off. Also distortion, I have a lot of astigmatism in both eyes. Left eye being the worse. I went back to get the glasses adjusted or returned for the correct prescription. An elderly Caucasian lady said that they just needed adjustment. She bent the arms on the glasses and sent me on my way. Of course this did not correct the problem. Glasses prescription still is off. My vision is still distorted. I see like double. I work out of time and working OT because we are understaffed. Now I called today 2/16/22 to take my glasses and I am told they have a 30 day return policy. I am floored upset that I have a pair of eyeglasses from them that I cannot use that they collected a $1000 in benefits on,. Since Memorial took over it is now horrible. Dr ZAIBAQ only works 1 or 2 days now. The service here has gone down tremendously. It is horrible not the same anymore. I'll give it a 2 and that's just being nice. Dr. Wong and the staff was very nice but what is so aggravating is the lab and getting the glasses. I had my appointment 11/29 and to this day 1/5, i still have not received my glasses. The second time i called the guy told me they didn't pass inspection and had to be remade. In my 25 years of wearing glasses, i never have had to wait this long. Thankfully my prescription hasn't changed that much but imagine if it did. Again the office was great but they need to change what lab they use, if not they will lose customers. UPDATE: FINALLY got a call 1/11 that my glasses were ready. I have been coming to this eye center for about 4 years now and it’s been good until this time. I went in on 9/22/21 to get a eye exam and get a new pair of glasses. I ordered some Gucci glasses that they told me they did have, two weeks later they called me to tell me they were actually out of stock. They claimed to order some more glasses very similar to the ones I originally ordered. About 3 weeks later the glasses finally came in and they were completely different from the style I had originally ordered. At this point I been waiting for over a month so I’m pretty upset. I found some glasses online and I asked them to just order them for me, which they agreed on. I waited for over 2 months for them to finally get my glasses. I got my glasses today 12/8/21. Very rude and unprofessional staff. 1. First time I called to schedule an appointment, they told me that they don't take my vision insurance. I went online to find a provider in my network- they were listed on their website. They reluctantly scheduled an appointment for me when I called again and referred to the information from the insurance company's website. 2. I arrived 18 minutes late for my appointment due to an accident on the road and a traffic jam. The staff declined to accommodate me. However, they took a patient who was scheduled 30 minutes after me (which means they took the patient early- in my time slot). They were in such a hurry to close down (at 4:49 pm), even when they are supposed to stay open until 6 pm. How about when I have arrived early, and I had to wait in their waiting area for 45 minutes? Well, not able to see properly and $400 down .......so not happy !! I have used them for the past 5-6 years but this year the eye exam did not turn out well. My prescription numbers were completely off and when I got my new prescription glasses made (somewhere else), they were not right. I could see better from my older glasses than the new ones. I have been waiting on my glasses for 3 weeks. I called today 06/07/21 and was told that they (Mary Beth) received a fax this morning saying the lab would have to start my lens over from scratch. I should receive them next week. I explained that as to long and I wanted a refund. She said "you cannot get a refund." Dr. Wong was very professional and answered all my questions. She was very patient and let me try on many different brands of contacts until I found one I liked. Any issues I had were immediately fixed. When I told her one eye did not see as clearly as the other, she took me back to the room, ran some tests, and was quickly able to make the adjustment. The lady fitting glasses is very good too. I have a high prescription so the lenses are quite heavy. It took several visits to find a light enough frame and adjust it so that it wouldn't press down on my nose. The lady was very patient and made sure I was comfortable with my glasses. I know some other places the staff would be lazy to adjust the glasses and tell the customer to go somewhere else, but the people here are very responsible, patient, and skillful at adjusting glasses. I was getting both contacts and glasses, but I could only use my insurance for either frames or contacts but not both. Dr. Wong and other staff wrote down all the pricings for me, whether I get monthly or daily contacts, whether I get year supply, half year, 3 months, whether I use my insurance for frames or contacts, how much I pay after insurance and rebates, etc. It was hard to make a decision at first, but Dr. Wong and staff neatly wrote down all the pricings and helped me find the most cost-effective option. I knew there was a reason I wasn’t going to return back to this location and after my visit yesterday I will NEVER be going back. First of all, every time I call on the phone, they are super rude, try to rush you off the phone and interrupts you when you speak. The first time I called to schedule an appointment, they told me they would “call me back and schedule it”. They never called back. So I end up calling back to schedule an appt finally. My appointment was at 130. I arrived at 1. I really adore and love Dr.Wong but The “General Manager” Marybeth or Elizabeth something like that Definitely needs to take a class or two on Customer Service. I noticed the staff deals with customers of different skin tones differently. When I noticed people of a lighter or white skin tone they were greeted at the door very warmly. When I came in it was more like “ummm what can we help you with” like “why are you here”. My insurance is GREAT. I never pay anything when I go. And MaryElizabeth kept trying to tell me what my insurance covered when I know that my insurance includes my contact lens fitting. Then she kept trying to haggle me to buy glasses and a year supply of contacts when I told her SPECIFICALLY I want 6 months supply of contacts. That’s it. She then made it seem as though I could not select a different brand and color of contacts. By now the time is almost 3 o’clock. There is no reason an eye exam should take 2 hours. I had an important meeting afterwards and needed to go. I asked her about other colors (a chart for me to see) & that I needed to go. I was in a rush. She had NO urgency and actually moved EVEN SLOWER on purpose. I eventually ended up going to find the chart on my own. I hand her my card for payment & instead of placing my card in my hand, she placed it on the counter which REALLY pissed me off. The front desk employees are very nice. I have been going here for years and couldn't be happier with everyone working there. Cynthia is especially helpful when ever I go there. The selection of frames is extensive. Dr "Z" is very patient and caring. I would definitely recommend Eye Trends Myerland.

I just left the Eye Trends on Meyerland and was so very taken aback by the complete disrespect and out right rudeness of the employee Cynthia who works there. I had never before gone into Eye Trends and just went in to look for a new frame. I found one I liked that was frameless and because I have -5.00 far sighted vision, I wanted to know if it was even possible to have the prescription fit to the frame. I said, "Excuse me, would you mind helping me?" to an employee at a desk and she held up her finger to shush me. I was a little surprised but thought OK, I'll wait for someone else to help me. A minute later this employee, Cynthia, came to "help" me. I asked about my prescription in this frame and she proceeded to say "No, won't work you'd need a 1.67 polycarbonate for this." I asked, "Can you explain that to me?" Because I honestly had no idea what it meant, I asked her to explain further. She started waving the glasses in my face saying "Do you understand what I am saying? Where are you even from?" To say I was offended was the least of it. Not that it matters at all, but I happen to be white. I would seriously hate to imagine what she says to people who aren't. I tried to keep my cool and said, "I just want to know what polycarbonate means..." Then she stuck that glasses under my nose and said "THIS. THIS." I really wanted the glasses so I walked away and talked to the later at the counter who was so kind and she had a nice woman named Nikki explain my options, pricing, and how long it would take. I was still very upset by this Cynthia woman, but thankfully there were other employees there who cared about customer service. Dr. Zaibaq, I hope you have a chance to read this. i had very bad service experience with these guys....Can you imagine it took me 3 months to get my glasses. I had opted for shipping option and i was asked to wait for 2-3 weeks for glasses and week for shipping time. I waited over a month and gave them call to find out status, they gave me some non sense reason to not have glasses ready. I was told that someone will call me when glasses are ready... i waited for another couple of weeks but NO CALL !!!. When i called up again, this time glasses were ready and they gave a promise that it will be shipped on same day. I was happy ignoring what happened so far...... After another week i called them to find out why i didn't receive the glasses, I was told that i had to pay $7 fees as shipping cost so no one dispatched it. Aweful experience. First time visit, walked in and 2 lady techincans walked right pass me, didn't offer any assistance. I should have walked out then. A male technician offered to help. Explained what my need were to the man technician and ordered glasses. He was the only polite person. Second visit, wrong prescription used, re-order lense. Third visit, picked up glasses. Used them the following day at work and had problems looking at my computer screen. Called about the problem was given the run around, was asked to wait for the male technician to return to work to handle my problem. I asked for a manager..well they don't have one. I was visiting every optical shop around Meyerland and this one has the best service for me. It's my first time here and I was greeted by the time I step into those doors. I already have a prescription so my visit is to get a new frame. Staffs are very friendly. They approach you and ask you nicely if you need help and they also suggests frames that is similar to your liking. The one who helped me was Memo, who is a very cool dude and talks to you about everything and helps me get the right fit for my new glasses. The only thing that costs them -1 star is they forgot to call me or email me regarding about picking up my glasses. I just decided to go there for a visit and for some quick update. Luckily, my glasses are already ready. I was a little bit disappointed but at the same time I was glad because I don't need to come back and wait for a few more days. During the time I picked it up I was wearing contact lenses and the staff asked me If I want to remove it to test my new glasses and so I did. They gave me new contact cases and a free cleaning cloth for my glasses. Before I left, I did asked some few adjustments like bending the frames to make it snug fit on my face and they have the equipment to do so. They can adjust almost everything that you wanted and they do it with no extra costs. Overall, I like this optical shop. I recommend it highly. Give it a try. Went in for a comprehensive eye exam last week and it was very easy and painless. There is no more buff of air in your eye to test for glaucoma, no more touching your eye to measure pressure, employees are helpful and knowledgeable. Easy in and out.

After my experience I am very surprised to see all the good reviews. I had an eye exam elsewhere, so didn't deal with Dr. Zaibaq, but did bring my prescription to get filled here. My eye doctor told me Eye Trends was great with progressive lenses for computers, and had a special technique. It seems their technique is to sell high cost lenses that don't do what they are meant to. Rather than opening the viewing channel on my lenses so I could see better at the computer, they made a very narrow viewing channel, and skewed it so that I could only work if I had one eye closed. It took 5 visits explaining that before they finally relented and re-ground the lenses. To top it off, the nose pads on the frame fall off 6 months after I bought the frames. I feel like I need to right two separate reviews on this place. First, the front desk staff is terrible. My fiance and I had two appointments, one at 12:40 and the other at 1:20. We arrived at 12:30 since we were first time patients. Amy is probably the rudest person I have met in my life. We had a 30 minute conversation where she tried to convince me that I didn't have insurance because she could not locate it the day before. (Not only did I not get a phone call, but she refused to contact the insurance company for me while I was there) I called VSP and had an authorization number for them in 5 minutes. Once insurance was sorted out, it was 1:20, which she then decided to harass me and tell me that I cannot see the doctor that I was supposed to see because "I was late" Which was not true. Well, one full hour later, I got to see the doctor; who was great. I have many positive words for him, but somehow, the experience with his staff makes it hard to praise the company. The rest of the staff was nice. Many of them even apologetic for Amy's behavior towards me. One of the other doctors even told me that "sometimes she has a bad attitude." They assisted me in picking frames and checking out. It is unfortunate that I had to catch a day of her attitude. If my fiance hadn't already gone back, I would have left and gone elsewhere. It is a shame when you have a business that has potential to be incredible... but one employee can ruin it. I have no idea if I will go back next year for my annual check-up.
