Dr. Tipton is an old-school doc who cares about his patients health, well-being, and concerns. He can explain medical issues to lay people. He is thorough in his examination and has years of experience as a doctor. He is also quick to call in prescriptions and answer medical questions. I highly recommend him.

I absolutely enjoyed the top notch quality of care provided by the whole office. Dr. Tiptons nurse was first level great. Dr. Tipton himself was amazing with explaining my diagnosis, kind and very knowledgeable. I would recommend anyone to this Dr.

Friendly, helpful, informative. Helped me with my back pain.

My husband, James. W. Rogers, D.O., is a practicing family physician with Austin Regional Clinic; he has practiced with ARC for over eight years. He recently developed moderate-to-severe cervical radiculopathy due to foraminal tearing, disc degeneration, and a bone spur located C6-C7. After receiving an epidural steroid injection and physical therapy, plus several months of chronic pain and neuropathy, he wished to discuss with a QUALIFIED neurosurgeon whether he was a candidate for cervical foraminotomy. He felt, due to his own medical responsibilities and welfare, that he should see a neurosurgeon, and chose Dr. Tipton, to whom he has referred dozens of patients. Dr. Tipton summarily dismissed my husband to see his PA instead, and very rudely responded to him by text messaging. Collegiality? What happened to this? If my husband does not get appropriate care, he may be truncating his career at ARC, and to their detriment. He is one of their highest producing family practice physicians in the Austin area. Dr. Tipton was very helpful, professional and addressed my concern.

My husband, James. W. Rogers, D.O., is a practicing family physician with Austin Regional Clinic; he has practiced with ARC for over eight years. He recently developed moderate-to-severe cervical radiculopathy due to foraminal tearing, disc degeneration, and a bone spur located C6-C7. He was empathetic to what I was going through and have me a plan to feeling better

Dr Tipton’s patient respect and bed side manner are not paralleled by any other Dr. I’ve ever met. I’ve had two back surgeries from him and a CSF leak scenario he hasn’t seen in his 30 years of practicing. He’s fought so hard for me and has tried to find me a wonderful neurosurgeon to work with (which seems harder than you would think in South Austin). He calls me practically every week to make sure I’m getting the care I need. He’s kind and caring with a very strong fatherly feel without being patronizing. I'm giving Dr. Tipton NO STARS! He messed my Mother's back surgery up a couple of years ago, took bone marrow from her hip that he never informed her or my Dad about until after the fact. Now that hurts her every single day and he didn't even fix her back and needed a second back surgery (from another surgeon). She's 85 and I'm not happy she won't ever be the same. Dr Tipton saved my wife! She crashed her mountain bike and was misdiagnosed by St David's. We ended up in the seton emergency room and the ER Dr said she herniated 2 disc at an extra large buldge level at extreme. She had sciatica pain. We saw Dr Tipton for a prior injury that she had due to Judo and he did not recommend surgery at that time and sent her to PT. Well when she hurt herself on the bike we had a doctor on Easter day sending her for surgery. We paused everything to wait for an opinion from Dr Tipton. He came to the hospital on Monday to see her and did some motion tests and agreed that based on the MRI needed a microdisectomy. He was so informative and compassionate to our situation. I felt like he was a father guiding us both and explaining every step. She is 100% recovered and owes everything to Dr Tipton. She is so happy for the outcome and chosing to wait for Dr Tipton as the hospital surgeon didn't explain much and was not clear on the procedure. He diagnosed my problem and got it taken care of. He was much more attentive to what I had to say and knew how to treat me while testing stretching, reflexes, etc. with out being too rough as others had been.

Dr Tipton saved my life. I thank God everyday Dr Tipton was there. I'm 65 years young and still working as a commercial construction electrician. This was nineteen years ago and still going strong!!!

Initially gave 5 stars based on squeezing me in for an emergency appointment. Dr did not meet with me before or after surgery as he promised. I was treated as a checklist in the follow-up appts after surgery. He did not listen to me as a patient and instead kept restating the same things over and over with "typical patients" and never seemed to remember anything I said. Did not review followup mri results. Office consistently does not return phone calls. I will NOT be returning to this dr.

I've had three spine surgeries in 20 years with Dr. Tipton. All surgeries were warranted and this belief comes with working judiciously with Dr. Tipton to confirm the surgery need. His approach starts with anything but surgery until the appropriate options are exhausted then surgery only after he's confident he can affect the desired outcome. I'm so confident in him that I'll let no one else operate on my spine. Very high recommendatoins.

Dr. Tipton has been my back surgeon since 2011. He has operated on my back 2 times and now it looks like I'm headed for a 3rd. I have the utmost confidence in Dr. Tipton and his experience. Additionally, the staff at his main office has always been very supportive and helpful (Stephanie was awesome!!!). I cannot endorse Dr. Tipton and the staff enough!!

I found Dr. Tipton to be rude and condescending. I was in the exam room and needed to go to the restroom and walked out of the exam room and Dr. Tipton asked, Can I help you? like I wasn't supposed to be there when I am already wearing a hospital gown. In the exam room as he was explaining my options, I asked a question about the procedure. He then asked me in a rude tone, Do you want to ask questions, or can I finish. I don't know why people call him Buddy. He was not a Buddy to me.
