I went in to see Dr. Moynihan last May for an otoplasty. The consultation process was very smooth I had 2 FaceTime consults since it was during Covid ,1 with the coordinator I believe and the second with Dr. Moynihan. My visits kept getting rescheduled which was a bit annoying, but working in healthcare myself I know things come up, the schedule changes and changes need to be made so I was fine with that. After having gone to a few other consultations with other doctors I decided to go with Gold Coast. The day of surgery everyone was very nice and it went by pretty smooth. Once I got home I started bleeding a lot and I was told if I had any questions or concerns to call right away so I did just to get some piece of mind. No one got back to me until the next day which sucked but again let that slide. After I finally received a call the next day checking in that was literally the last time I ever heard from anyone. It has now been over a year and no one ever contacted me to schedule a follow up or check in to see how I was doing nothing! I thought it was a bit weird since at my practice we usually schedule follow ups right after surgery and call patients right after as well as next day. I feel like when it came down to taking my money they were constantly contacting me and once surgery was done they no longer cared. I’m happy with my results for the most part there is a bump on the inside of my ear that never went away that looks like it could be a suture that may have migrated and never dissolved. The overall results are good the experience not the best, just wish that this being my first surgery and spending $7000 I would have had a better experience I went in to see Dr. Moynihan last May for an otoplasty. I have no idea why anyone would ever post 1 star for dr.Moynihan. Seems like a fake post. I have had many things done by him and he is the absolute best! In everything that he does, he puts 100% in, gives his professional opinion and has made my self confidence go from a 0 to 100. I recommend him for absolutely everything. Staff is very friendly however, I would NOT recommend coming here for a rhinoplasty. After completing my rhinoplasty I instantly noticed a few things were off as things healed. I contacted the Dr. who was very understanding and went back to do two separate in-office procedures (on separate occasions) in an attempt to ‘correct’ the issues I discussed. I did end up paying around $200 out of pocket for the second in-office procedure I did (I was not told about this until after I finished and was going to check out). It was a lot to pay considering I had already payed for the rhinoplasty itself in full. Nonetheless, it’s been quite some time now, so I’ve had time to ‘heal’ and nothing has improved. Not only does my nose look MUCH worse than it did before surgery, but my breathing is significantly worse as well. Worst decision I’ve ever made. BEST DECISION OF MY LIFE TO GO TO DR. MOYNIHAN!!!!!!!!!! Dr. Moynihan is who you want to be in charge of how your face looks for the rest of your life! I debated getting a rhinoplasty for years, but was always concerned about getting work done that was "too much" or "too little." After getting many consultations, I felt most comfortable with Dr. Moynihan because he goes for the natural look that best fits YOUR face. The staff is extremely supportive, caring, and I even had a lady texting me late throughout the night answering all my crazy questions/concerns. Very comforting to know they have staff there for you at all times, giving you the full supportive experience. I have stronger cheekbones/jawline, so I felt like the other surgeons overdid the initial demonstration of what my results would look like. Although it is very pricey, I decided I loved the way he projected my results to be over any of the other surgeons. I kept asking myself, "why would I be looking for a "bargain" on something like a rhinoplasty. Just for a rough estimate, most other surgeons were close to $8,000, and I paid $12,000 for Dr. Moynihan. I figured I would much rather only have to get it done ONCE by someone who would give me exactly what I needed/wanted as opposed to getting a bargain deal, hating it, having long-term issues, etc. He also specializes in rhinoplasty as his main surgery, so I was comforted by the fact that he has probably done millions of noses. I am a bit of a control freak and wanted Dr. Moynihan to tell me exactly what he was going to do, but he basically told me right before my surgery, "just trust me." From what I understand, he mainly goes in on surgery day by taking measurements of your face to make sure everything is proportional once already in the operating room. It almost seemed like he didn't even have a plan (although I'm sure he did). This part was scary to me, because I wanted to know exactly what my results were going to be before going into surgery, but I am so happy with how it turned out! Dr. Moynihan is an amazing surgeon. When doing my consultation, I knew he was going to be the perfect surgeon for what I was looking to achieve with a rhinoplasty. My results are subtle yet outstanding. Both Dr. Moynihan and his staff answered all my questions both pre and post surgery- I never felt nervous or scared because they were so thorough with pre and post care and what to expect and only a phone or text away if I had anything additional to ask. Dr. Moynihan is a skilled surgeon, as long as money is no object. My husband suffered a traumatic nasal fracture after a crash. My husband was referred to Dr. Moynihan for a rhinoplasty to correct the deformity that was preventing him from breathing. I confirmed with our insurance company Dr. Moynihan was in-network. We went for a consultation and a surgical plan was made. After the exam, we were brought into the office to discuss the financials with Susan. She went over the charges stating what the fees were and had us sign the appropriate paperwork stating we were responsible. I stated per the insurance, this would be covered at 100%. Seeing as my husband had met his deductible and was almost to his maximum out of pocket for the year, we did not expect a significant out of pocket. She stated the insurance didn’t always cover their fees and I stated I spoke with the insurance and had confirmed the coverage, so my husband went ahead and signed the paperwork accepting responsibility for payment. We had to pay the $8000.00 fee up front, but were expecting a refund once the claim was submitted and processed by the insurance. What was not explained this charge is a premium above and beyond what our insurance covered. We had no idea an in-network physician could have you sign paperwork waiving your rights to insurance. If we understood this fee was a premium that we were solely responsible for, we would have sought care elsewhere. We chose Dr. Moynihan based on the referral AND because he was an in-network physician. We wanted to make sure he was in-network to minimize our cost. There were several months between the consultation and the actual surgery. During that time, there were several phone calls back and forth between the insurance, Dr. Moynihan’s office staff, and myself. I continued to question the billing and the coverage by the insurance. I continued to say to the staff that his fee would be covered at 100% per the insurance. These conversations gave Dr. Moynihan’s staff ample opportunity to clarify that this $8000.00 fee was solely our responsibility and not something they submitted to the insurance, but they never did. After the surgery, I received the EOB from the insurance. The charge was less than what we paid up front and thought this was due to the surgery taking less time than was originally scheduled. The bill was $6575.28 and the amount covered was $2342.44 with our portion being $234.23. I expected a refund of the $8000 less this amount. I was told there would be no refund. In response to my inquiry I was told. “You asked how insurance coverage would be handled for the $8000 surgeon’s fee. I explained that any additional coverage would need to come in the form of a reimbursement after the procedure. You were confident that a significant portion would be covered so I noted again that I have not seen more that $2,000-$3000 total coverage even in the most extreme cases. I also noted that Dr. Moynihan is not the only doctor who performs these procedures and there my be another doctor who could do a decent job within the limitations of insurance coverage.” Even in this reply, you can see the ambiguity of lumping the $8000.00 fee with the $2,000-$3,000 the insurance company would cover. The $2,000-$3,000 coverage was for the amount billed the day of surgery and had nothing to do with the $8,000 fee paid up front. Implying the insurance would cover any portion of the $8,000 was misleading since this amount was a premium and not submitted to the insurance. Never once prior to surgery or even in the above quoted response, was it explained that an in-network physician was not obligated to accept the in-network contract limitations that would limit the fee charged. I found out the hard way the piece of paper my husband signed essentially waived the insurance obligation Dr. Moynihan had as an in-network physician. Dr. Moynihan is skilled, as long as money is no object. An in-network md that charged $8000.00, to be paid up front. The procedure was covered at 100% but this fee is a premium on top of the bill. We had no idea an in-network physician could do this. The staff had ample opportunity to clarify the fee was solely our responsibility and not something submitted to insurance, but they never did. After the surgery, we were given an additional bill. When questioned we were told, “You asked how insurance coverage would be handled for the $8000 surgeon’s fee. I went to Dr. Moynihan back in March to receive a non-surgical rhinoplasty treatment using filler to help with a minor bump on the bridge of my nose. The filler treatment only seemed to last a few months compared to receiving this same treatment from other doctors in the past where it lasted at least a year.

I absolutely love him. He helped me get my confidence back. Seriously, he is just great at what he does. He has great customer service, and I will recommend him to everyone who wants to get work done. :)

I don’t know how I can thank Kimberly enough for the beautiful work she did for on my face! Her hands are MAGICAL, her personality is vibrating, warm, funny and straight forward! While I have experimented with Botox before (you know, prevention ????) I’ve never had fillers, but I am getting married this year, so… we always want to look our best for major events in our life! SO… besides dealing with the nerves surrounding a high stake event, poor Kimberly had to deal with my irrational fear of needles ????????‍♀️, and let me tell you, she mastered it! I am a giant baby so I took some Tylenol before ????, and after a very through consultation, we had a plan of action! Even though I was a nervous wreck, she calmed me down and gained my trust (she did come highly recommended, after all), she has a very gentle touch, and told me when to expect a little pressure here or a little pinch there. Before I knew it, she was done. My Liquid Face Lift, looks immaculate! I have been so self conscientious about the shape of my face (wanted to get the fat pad removal surgery to give my face some definition) and now I am glad that I never did, because it turns out, I don’t need it at all! I finally have cheek bones, a chin, and a jawline ????. Whatever she did with my under eyes worked magic for my otherwise deep dark circles… I had sinking under eyes lines that are now gone!!! I was absolutely terrified to touch my face before a major event, I was ferried that I would turn out looking artificial and overdone. End result??? I have never ever been happier with my face. Would not recommend. The nurse, I believe her name was Kimberly, didn't use numbing cream even though i had asked for it. This was my first time getting filler so when i first got them done, I thought they looked amazing so I made an appointment to get some more injected 2 weeks later. Because she did not use numbing cream and the pain was excruciating, I was getting very bad anxiety about coming back so i called to cancel my appointment. When calling back, I mentioned this to the person on the phone and she was quite confused because they do in fact offer numbing cream. At this point i was thinking that she probably just was rushing and didn't wanna wait the 10 minutes for the numbing cream to set in. Very unprofessional. In addition to this, Kimberly injected the filler way too high on my lips causing a dark overlaying shadow. For a nurse that was supposedly hand picked by Dr Moynihan and had over 13 years of experience, absolutely did not know what she was doing. I own a plastic surgery consulting company based in Miami, but my wife and I were on a road trip during Covid for 3 months and landed for a month in Chicago. Dr. Moynihan, and his superb staff led by Beata, Nicole, and Susan exceeded our expectations and I'm honestly hard to impress overseeing so many wold class practices. Lip filler by Dr. Moynihan is demonstrably impressive, natural and customized to the particular face being treated. Hydrafacials by Beata are highly recommended, with safety protocols from the cleanliness of the office and arrival process through masks and other sanitation efforts. On one visit my wife had some light redness from a facial - they drove to our home in the North Shore and dropped off cream even after we insisted this was not necessary and not only did it clear up the pinkness overnight, my wife said he face is glowing for the first time since the start of the pandemic. On a personal note other than other surgeons, few can comment on the doctor's quality of work. As a relatively rare facial specialist and board certified FACIAL plastic surgeon, in the Chicagoland area, it's hard to find someone more impressive and conscientious than Dr. Moynihan. He is highly trained, honest, and a bit of fun as well. I had a revision rhinoplasty last year with Dr. Moynihan. I went in with some major deformities from the first surgery. I articulated repeatedly how a straight bridge and 90 degree nasolabial angle were essential to me. While he corrected some problems, he created a pug nose and scooped bridge and my breathing has not improved at all. When I tried to talk to him about my concerns at month 5 post op, he berated me, telling me I had body dysmorphic disorder (which I do not).

The worst injections I've ever got! My lips were so bumpy. Never will ever go back.

I always feared the worst when I decided to get surgery on my nose. I really thought I did my research on doctors, I was wrong. I spent 8,000 for my nose to look worse than it did before. Not only are my nostrils different sizes, I now have a breathing problem. The size of nose didn’t change either. I can’t explain how devastated I am. I went back three times to complain about my nose and I always got “it’s still healing” even after 2 years went by. I am truly disappointed in him and his staff. He told me he could perform surgery again for 2,000, but I declined. I do not trust him. I always feared the worst when I decided to get surgery on my nose. I have had an issue breathing for years and needed a septoplasty. I went to one Dr who said they would have to do some rhinoplasty as well as fixing my septum which is not what i wanted. I later found Dr Moynihan through lots of research on multiple review sites. I got my stitches out today and i couldn’t be happier. I expected the work to be top notch which it was but what created my “magical” customer service experience was beyond that. First Dr. Moynihan is extremely nice, he called me after surgery to make sure i was ok. He responded the day after thanksgiving when i had a question. His staff is professional and set me up with a very detailed packet. They followed up constantly. I was never nervous, i never felt my questions weren’t Answered. Top notch work. With Dr. Moynihan’s skills you could get anything you want, he is very professional and will improve any difficult case. Dr. Moynihan helped me so much in my life. I had rhinoplasty and chin implant as well as my lips done. He thoroughly informed me on each procedure, what my expectations were as a patient but also gave me realistic expectations. He's so patient and calm, I literally called weekly and asked the same questions about my procedure and each time they answered them calmly. He genuinely looks out for your best interest and doesn't unnecessarily do procedures just because, which I appreciate.

If you are looking for cosmetic work Dr Moynihan is the best. I have seen him regularly over the years for botox. Then recently I had upper Blepharoplasty, a brow lift and a CO2 Laser treatment. Recovery time was quick. I went back to work 12 days later. No one could figure out what was different but commented that I looked well rested and younger. Also that my skin looked brighter and refreshed. To me, that spoke volumes as I wanted natural results. His work is amazing and would not hesitate referring him ! Fantastic results. I've always been pleased throughout the years with my botox from Dr Moynihan. Recently, I decided to have upper Blepharoplasty, a Brow Lift and added a CO2 Laser Treatment. If you want natural results he is the best. He listens to all your concerns and puts you at ease. I would highly recommend Dr Moynihan !

Dr. Moynihan left me with disastrous results and permanently disfigured from the botch job he did with injectable fillers. Not only is he unskilled, he is arrogant, impolite and dismissive. I would never, ever trust him to do anything to my face!

For several years I had been considering having my nose fixed. After doing a considerable amount of research on line and asking different people I knew, I made an appointment with Dr. Moynihan. I had Rhinoplasty done several months ago and am so pleased with the results. His office is close to where I live and he had excellent reviews. Dr. Moynihan’s staff is very efficient and helpful. Dr Moynihan made my whole experience smooth and comfortable. I had my rhinoplasty procedure done with Dr. Moynihan and after meeting with 3 doctors, Dr. M took a very medical approach in explaining the pre op prep, actual procedure, and what to expect during the healing process making me feel at ease. He was realistic with what to expect in terms of individual results. His whole staff communicated well and often and always answered my many pre and post op questions quickly and thoroughly. I had Botox at Dr. Moynihan?s office this past Wednesday. Everything was fantastic. I loved everything about the experience, from his bedside manner to have much he made me feel comfortable. Dr. Moynihan did a great job. A friend recommended me to the office, since I really wanted some improvement for my aging skin. I already think I can notice the results and I like them.

I've come to expect consistently great results from Dr. Moynihan. He's got it all: expertise, exemplary technique and a prodigious chair-side manner. I trust him with my face and he's never let me down so, when he recommended something new, it took me only a moment to say yes. I knew I'd be happy, but I had no idea I'd be amazed! Dr. Moynihan recommended Juvederm Voluma in my cheeks. He said it would give me back some fullness and put a little lift in my lower face. I had a great experience at Dr. Moynihan's office. The receptionist and office manager were both friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Dr. Moynihan was on time, which is great when you trying to get in and out fast. I'm extremely happy with my Botox results and didn't experience any problems following the procedure. I had a rhinoplasty last March with Dr. Moynihan after some friends mentioned his name. For as long as I can remember I just wanted to tweak my nose a little bit to make it fit my face more. I am so happy with my nose now and I would definitely recommend Dr. Moynihan. He is professional and super nice. Everything went great.

I recently broke my nose and got 20+ stitches in an out of town accident. Seeing Dr. Moynihan immediately after was the best thing I could have done! He was nothing but reassuring and has done everything to be certain the nose healed well and, more importantly, that the scarring will be minimal. Dr. Moynihan was very clear in what the expectations were and how things should look for my Rhinoplasty procedure. His calmness and clarity were overall the best way to feel comfortable with a doctor. And you can actually see the images before you go through the procedure. Those few characteristics are what made me go through with it with him. You don’t feel anything during the procedure and it’s not painful when you wake up. The only thing you have is being uncomfortable, as you should since you are having a surgery. So from that standpoint, Dr. Moynihan sets expectation very clear. He’s got a good track record and is really easy to talk to so based on my experience, I would recommend him.
