The guy is a flake, He took a look at the wrong part of my body and kept saying it was a weight issue. Went to Dr. Velamarovich and he found the issue right away. Avoid George Martin at all costs, he sucks.

I had lumbar fusion surgery and was an absolute success!!! I’d been suffering from pain and discomfort for many, many years. I experienced more pain before than after the surgery!! After 7 weeks of PT, I feel like a new man. No more pain or severe cramping. I can actually walk without limping. My sincere thanks to Dr. Martin and his staff for changing my life!! Dr. Martin is the best neurosurgeon in our city. If I had to do it all over again, there would be no hesitation, Dr. Martin ALL the way!!!! I had lumbar fusion surgery and was an absolute success!!! Dr. Martin is an amazingly gifted doctor! Our strong and healthy 89 year old mom began with hand numbness and 6 months later was unable to do the simplest of daily tasks, followed by severe weakness in her legs. After seeing multiple specialist and paying out-of-pocket for a cervical MRI when disapproved by her insurance, results showed mom needed immediate cervical surgery. The day after mom’s surgery as she walked the hospital hallway, she was no longer dragging her left leg. Dr. Martin called mom his hero, as she didn’t complain and followed all of his instructions. It’s been a year now and not a day goes by that we don’t thank God for Dr. Martin. Mom went from being in a horrible depression as she became incapable of caring for self and Dr. Martin changed all of that. He gave us back our healthy, strong, happy mom. He gave mom back her youth! Dr. Martin is OUR hero! We celebrate every day with mom and always thank God for Dr. Martin!! Thank you Jesus for giving Dr. Martin such an amazing gift! Thank you Jesus his wonderful staff!! Incompetent and dishonest. My mother was referred to him after an MRI with contrast revealed a lesion on her brain. He told her that he thought it was an inflammation/infection on the brain, which would cure itself. He also told her to cancel the appointment she had with an oncologist to whom she had been referred, stating that the lesion was not cancer. He scheduled a new MRI for six weeks later. Two weeks after that initial appointment her condition worsened and she wound up in the ER. He stuck by his diagnosis. Her condition continued to degenerate over the following two weeks, and he finally ordered another MRI, two weeks before the one he had scheduled for her. After that second MRI he stuck with his original diagnosis, but did say that there was a small chance that it was a low grade (non-malignant) tumor. After a few more tests, and continued deterioration of my mother, he ordered a biopsy. After the biopsy he told my brothers and I that he now thought it was a low grade tumor, but we had to wait for the lab results. It took eight days to get those results: it was an anaplastic astrocytoma, a very aggressive malignant tumor, one that spreads tendrils throughout the brain. Ten days after this diagnosis my mom's condition worsened to the point that we had to place her in hospice care. She died seven days later, never having a chance to get a radiation treatment. We later learned from the oncologist that would have treated her, had she lived longer, that Dr. Martin told her that he saw the tendrils during the biospsy and knew that it was high grade, and that the tendrils would prevent him from being able to surgically remove the tumor. The S.O.B. had outright lied to my brothers and I after the biopsy. My mom only lived for two and half months after her initial symptoms appeared. It's possible that it was already too late for medical science to have prolonged her life at that point, but my siblings and I will never know. Martin's diagnoses were wrong at every turn, having her cancel that oncology appointment was criminal, as was lying to my bothers and I after the biopsy. Martin is not only a terrible doctor, he is a terrible human being as well. Incompetent and dishonest. My mother was referred to him after an MRI with contrast revealed a lesion on her brain. I’ve been a patient for many years now and has performed two lumbar surgeries and he is the best, great bedside manners, attentive, very knowledgeable and has great expertise. It is unfortunate that I can’t see him anymore for other issues because he is now out of my insurance network. But I do recommend to anyone even my family members and definitely trust him. Dr. Martin's office told me to mail in my MRI disc (I live 200 miles away), his office called to say I wasn't a candidate. When I asked if they would mail back my disc, I was told "we don't have the capability to do that." They aren't capable of putting a disc into an envelope with a stamp and mailing it back? I spent a lot of time making photocopies, writing a letter and mailing them a packet of stuff - they won't spend a minute and a dollar mailing my disc back to me. Total waste of time.

I went to Dr Martin with grade 2 spondyolisthesis at the suggestion of my son, an orthopedic P.A. surgery was just two days ago but I am already better. He is a quiet man, but very proficient and detail oriented. His PA is very very good. I would highly recommend him. Any changes I will update.

Incompetent/dishonest. My mom was referred to him and an oncologist after an MRI revealed a lesion on her brain. He diagnosed her with an infection on the brain, said it would heal, & told her to cancel the oncologist appointment. He stood by that diagnosis for weeks, then said it was a low grade tumor, even after performing a biopsy. The biopsy results revealed that it was a malignant tumor. My mom died shortly thereafter. His misdiagnoses and lies after the biopsy delayed her chance for care.

WARNING! Be very careful with this Dr! He decorticated my husband's lumbar vertebral column from the L1-L5. After experiencing the horror of 2 unsuccessful surgeries, Dr. Martin was rude and didn't want to see my husband anymore. My husband has tried numerous times to contact Dr. Martin but he refuses to answer him. Even worse, my husband continues to suffer everyday from severe pain in his back down to his legs and feet. He is now permanently disabled and unlikely to resume a normal life.

Terrible. Everything was so disorganized and diassapointing. I should have just spent the $150 on pillows to help my back pain. I am still having excruciating pains and all I got for my $150 is for a few hits with a hammer on my knees. All I kept hearing is " tell me about your symptoms and we will tell the doctor" so here I am like an idiot repeating my symptoms and answering the exact Questions to 3 different people. Hours later... I'm still In pain and I have received no answers. Waste of $$$

On Oct. 21, 2016, after providing my Florida Blue Cross information, Dr Martin's Business Manager scheduled an appt. for Oct. 27, 2016. In an early morning voice mail I received on Oct. 24, 2016, I was informed that my appt. was cancelled because they were not in my plan. When I told her I found the doctor through the Blue Cross directory, she told me, we know who we have contracts with. When I asked "why schedule an appt. then?", she said they can only take Blue Cross of Texas. Go figure!
