Dr. George Dennis Leaks

I would love to give this place five stars but I had a negative experience with two women who work here. One was rude during the exam, the other spoke down to me as a child because I signed my name instead of print. “Can you read what it says there?” Like no… I’m here for glasses I can’t see. Plus why would you make a big deal in front of other customers trying to embarrass a client? I have loved this place but the older woman with the bleach blonde hair has ruined it for me and made me not want to return.

My first time there and everyone is very nice. The best experience I've had getting eye wear. Thank you.

Love Dr Leaks as my eye doctor. Never have had any issues with getting an appointment or getting my glasses. They are always so helpful and super nice.will not go to anybody else.

My wife and I experienced complete professionalism. Everyone there shows hospitality and kindness.

My name is Jim Mahan. Today was my first AND last visit. I reported at 2:15 for a 2:30 appointment. Paper work easy enough to complete. No cars but mine in the parking lot. No one else in the waiting room. Three doctors on staff. Gonna be a good day. Still waiting at 3:00pm. So I check at the desk to see if maybe they forgot about me since it was so quiet. They tell me that they are waiting for a room and that I should be next. No time frame. No apologies. Not really a believable story. My time is valuable also. So I'll not go back there. I went to Walmart n got a script fo glasses. I called you to get a estimate on glasses. Transition bifocal. General idea. Nope, got to come in. Well if you cant give a approximation. Then i go elswhare.

Went to this eye doctor for over 25 years. Not anymore unfortunately. I drive from and hour away to find out they cancelled my appointment. The lady said they left a message but they did not. Appointment time 830am was seen at 915am said my insurance would not cover a percentage of the cost of frames but they do and have for 10 yrs. Called my old eye doctor out of state they will order my frames and lens with this new prescription billed my insurance no problem. Received my frames and lens the prescription is completely wrong now i have to pay out of pocket and start over again for lens and exam.. thanks for nothing..Won't be coming back. They seem nice enough, but ... They got the glasses wrong the first time, i.e. incorrect lenses in my frames. Then, it has now been at least three weeks with no word from them and no glasses. I also have never met Dr. Leaks, only his staff, Does he exist ? Not sure .... Now they are strangely just 'closed' with only an answering machine and have been this way for over a week. Hmmmm COVID-19 ??? I tried to give a local small business a chance but it has taken so long, I just went to Costco and got an eye exam $69.00 and ordered three pair of glasses from Warby-Parker in less time and for less money than Dr. Leaks office. I've been going to Dr. Leaks office for a least 3yrs, but today was the first time I've met Dr. Vander Veldt, he was a very pleasant, knowledgeable and respectful young man I was referred to him from my Dr. Washington last exam of my eyes for a little addition look into possible glaucoma. Dr. Washington was fantastic in dealing with my 7 year old during her eye exam! I was so pleased with the interaction I made an appointment for my 3 year old

I have been doing business here for several years and highly recommend it. All the optometrists are personable and knowledgeable. The staff is personable and efficient. Dr. Leaks maintains a good selection of frames and lenses.

The visit was relatively quick without feeling rushed. The staff was helpful and courteous. Dr Van der Velt was professional & efficient - also without feeling rushed. Prices are reasonable, especially after my insurance.

Very clean, professional, with all the latest up to date equipment. Friendly efficient staff. Couldn't be more pleased with my initial visit.

They are always prompt and professional. The staff is always there to help, and Dr Washington is great. My grandson told me I needed to go to her, he is 8 years old and really likes her.

The staff are always friendly and helpful. It's always clean. I've been going to Eye Care for many years and have always been happy with the way I'm treated from when I walk in the door till I walk out the door. Their a great group of people. I'd recommend anyone and I have to the wonderful Doctors.

My daughter was scheduled for the week following the state shut down. You would expect that they would call their cancelled patients due to Covid 19 to reschedule first. However, the first we could schedule was in June. The ladies are nice; but the policies about customer service in this weird time is extremely lacking. Due to layoffs, my insurance is changing, and I pray I can figure out how to help my daughter to see enough to drive and function in daily life.
