Dr. Barros is truly one of the best doctors at Memorial! I truly don’t understand where some of these reviews are coming from. He is very thorough in his explanations and takes his time to ensure you have a wonderful quality of care. My grandparents have been going him for a while and they’ve never had a problem! His staff has always been friendly and very helpful in addressing any admin concerns pertaining to insurance, copays, etc. Both my father (who was practically on his deathbed) and my husband (who had severe CoVid pneumonia) are both alive today thanks to the quality of care Dr. Barros has provided and the extra mile that he is willing to take to save his patients’ lives! Dr Barros is a wonderful doctor. He cares about his patients and he is honest. He thoroughly explains and answers your questions. I would highly recommend Dr Barros because of his knowledge and medical expertise. His staff efficiently addressed insurance concerns too.

Dr. George L. Barros, MD Is by far one of the best pulmonologist. Just had a horrible experience in the ER with this doctor.. not only did he scream a false diagnosis in the ER, allowing ALL surrounding patients/nurses to hear.. he didn’t even hear me out. He shut me out. And disregarded all of my other GI doctors and specialists... not to mention, he said he would treat me for nausea, and didn’t even check to see if I was pregnant... I am... WORST. Doctor. EVER. He could have administered something to hurt my baby & he wouldn’t have known because he decided to be the specialist and not the EMERGENCY room doctor... DO NOT MAKE DIAGNOSIS THAT YOU ARE NOT SURE ABOUT!!! DO NOT SCREAM INFORMATION ABOUT ME VIOLATING MY HIPA!! Dr Barros is very professional and knowledgeable he saved my life with Covid. Besides a great doctor he is an amazing human being.

Never been to such a rude and disrespectful doctor EVEN screaming at me in the hallway waiting to get a test done. Secretary talked to him and I went back in room after her kindness of realizing his actions towards me and told me that he was very stressed and that when something goes wrong like a printer/scanner not working, he freaks out. That has NOTHING TO DO with the patient and I felt completely disrespected. The doctor did not let me express anything of the purpose of my visit, total loss of time. sad to say I was an RN and worked with him at the hospital. Needed a pulmonologist. Waste of money, treated extremely rude, was told he's a lung doctor and not what I needed until I asked well I'm kind of here for those five nodules in my lungs. How is that not supposed to be covered by a pulmonologist??? And the PA in his office playing doctor was just as ignorant. If a pulmonologists does not realize nodules in your lungs are considered a pulmonary problem... I guess I was at the wrong office. Never again!

I have been a patient of Dr. Barros for 15 years. My biggest criticism is the reception area. The chairs are absolutely terrible and need to be addressed. When I first went I was in my mid fifties I was a little taken aback with his bedside manner but, if you want the best you go along with the plan. Dr. Barros is not a sugar coater, so put on your big male/female pants on and get over it. If you want the best then Dr. Barros is your Dr.

I find that when I have a question or need to request something I have to make multiple calls to the office and the level of understanding from the staff is lacking. Dr. Barros himself is very knowledgeable but doesn't have much of a personality and I find it difficult having a conversation with him. his PA is also very knowledgeable and much easier to speak with. They really need to work on their waiting time. Over an hour is way too long to wait to see a doctor for 12 minutes, if that.

Dr. Barros is a wonderful physician. He has been my doc for 18 months. He is the ultimate professional. He is warm, kind, very knowledgeable. He has been consistent and has helped me to navigate significant lung disease.
