He is the best doctor I have ever known and deserves a 5 star rating in every aspect of his profession

Dr. Ang is knowledgeable and unusually personable compared to other doctors. He explains his decisions well and listens to questions and concerns. When test results had not been forwarded to his office because they came from a different system, he worked with me to get through menus on my phone in order to access the record on the patient portal. He needed the information to make a treatment decision and he could have just said we'll have to reschedule - instead, he was flexible, collaborative, and made the visit worthwhile. I would definitely recommend him.

Dr. Ang took the time to explain my condition so I could understand and he set a good plan for me. He answered all my questions.

I find Dr. Ang to be engaged and attentive. He listens well and is up-to-date with the latest science.

I appreciate how quickly I was seen and that Dr. Ang spent time reviewing my test results and discussing next steps. He genuinely seemed interested in my progress.

Dr. Ang assessed my risks and prescribed Alendronate last summer to address my diagnosis of osteopenia. I recently had blood work done and, in a follow up with him, he clearly explained the results. He answered my questions and asked if I had others. I appreciate his calm, clear, reassuring manner. He is efficient without rushing.

I was glad to see Dr. Ang who told me I had osteoporosis and scheduled a bone density test for me in addition to prescribing Prolia for me. He also gave me the FreeStyle Libre 2 kit to monitor blood glucose. So good to see him again.

Dr. Ang was well prepared for our visit. It was apparent that he had carefully reviewed my prior health history, labs, tests, etc. I felt very comfortable speaking with him. He was gracious, intelligent, kind and clear in his explanations. I did not feel rushed at all by him (which is not the norm in medical visits anymore!). I felt confident in his experience and ability as a provider and am grateful to have access to him as a new patient. Highly recommend.

I have been seeing Dr. Ang now for over 2 years. I quite like him and find him to be a straight shooter. He doesn't sugar coat things. I can only speculate that maybe his background may possibly affect his demeanor, thereby making him seem curt and/or unfeeling. But that is far from the truth! He is knowledgeable and thorough. I wouldn't want any other specialist treating my diabetes. I have improved greatly under his guidance.

My last Endocrinologist moved away and so my file was transferred to his peer, Dr. Ang. I had my first visit with him yesterday. He said my labs looked really good and since I am already seeing a Naturalpathic Doctor to help me with my thyroid autoimmune disease, Dr. Ang was confused why I was seeing him at all. The answer, because 13 months ago I was nearly in a Thyroid Storm and the ER put me on a pharmaceutical drug and need an endocrinologist to monitor and renew my prescription. What was really weird is that he never physically palpated my neck/thyroid. Why would he not check for goiter or nodules? Seems like a very rudimentary baseline exam would be necessary. It’s been 8 months since I last saw his peer and 13 months since my initial diagnosis. Are physical changes with my neck/thyroid not possible? Are they not a piece of my health picture? I was not able to understand the explanation about when my medication will be stopped (likely in 6 months). But why?

Dr. Ang was forthcoming, honest, and straightforward. He gave me options I had never considered. He knows his stuff!

I highly respect Dr. Ang as a physician. He demonstrated empathy and patience while responding to all of my questions. He was thorough when informing me of how I can best manage my condition.

It is always a pleasure to speak with him. He explains everything very thorough. Excellent care from him.

I felt that Dr. Ang is both caring and forthcoming. If you don’t want to watch you diet, do the work and exercise then Dr. Ang is not the Dr. for you.

Dr. Ang is my 84-yr old diabetic mother's doctor. On first visit, he seemed hesitant to be her doctor & introduced another colleague to her. Mom decided to stay with Dr. Ang & we are so glad she did! His bedside manner is wonderfully kind & never condescending. He talks to HER, not me & even jokes around a bit, which she enjoys very much. He really has improved her quality of life & helps her to understand her personal health care in a patient & easy way. We highly recommend him!

I went to see Dr. Ang because of hypothyroidism. I was shocked at his lack of knowledge about my thyroid issue. He made many comments about thyroid that he said were supported on the American Thyroid Association website. It was contradictory to what I had previously read. After my appointment I went home and read thoroughly on that website looking for the statements he made to me and I found just the opposite. He did not listen to what I was experiencing nor did he ask me what other symptoms, other than fatigue, that were concerning. He actually told me tiredness is not a symptom which is not true according to the ATA website. He did not make any recommendations about trying to figure out why my thyroid function has deteriorated. I will never return to him nor could I recommend him as a knowledgeable doctor for thyroid issues.

Dr. Ang is a wonderful doctor. I had my first visit with him today and it was a pleasure to meet him. Dr. Ang was totally prepared for me. He had read my records and knew me on paper and he then took the time to get to know me as a person. Dr. Ang did not rush through my appointment, he answered my questions and I felt totally well taken care of. I wish all doctors cared as much as he does.

I have been a nurse for 18 years and have had and worked with many providers. I have a high expectation which Dr Ang more than exceeded. Not only did he take time to read my history thoroughly and was very knowledgeable he spent ample time to answer all questions and explained in great detail. I could not recommend him enough!

Dr Ang may be knowledgeable about endocrinology, but he is not a caring physician, so it's best to select another Endo if you want care and understanding. Dr Ang refused to see my son after his initial visit because my son has not made a follow up appt. The Rx had expired, and needed a prior approval, but Dr Ang did not provide that. It has been 3 weeks trying to find another Endo in our remote area and we've had to purchase the strips outright, still waiting for the approval. Avoid this one.

Never felt so disrespected by a health care professional! Wouldn't recommend Dr. Ang to my worst enemy.

It's been my experience that the more specialized the physician, the less time they spend with the patient. Not so with Dr. Ang. He asked a lot of questions, he spent time to tell me what he was looking for and ordered a set of labs to further tell my story. My bloodwork revealed a thyroid issue that I didn't know I had! His willingness to work with my primary care doctor is wonderful. I look forward to following up with him and working with him in the future for my good health.

I was just told by Dr. Ang's office to find another provider as he would not "tolerate verbal abuse" from patients. Interesting, as neither do I. His treatment of me in his office was badgering. I found him to be sarcastic and arrogant and I alluded to this in a word I used to describe him to his nurse. I found Dr. Ang to be dismissive and disinterested in me as a patient. His manner was curt and intolerant. He does not come close to meeting my standard of care.

I saw Dr. Ang when I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. My family was concerned with the level of care I would receive in a small town like Gallup. But now that I've relocated to a bigger city I really appreciate the time and attention I received from doctors like Dr. Ang in Gallup. He always did a thorough exam and took the time to explain the diet changes I would need to make. More importantly he treats you like a human being, unlike some of the patient mills I've been to since. Can't recommend him more highly to anyone seeking quality medical care.
