Dr. Gene Tekmyster

I saw Dr. Tekmyster for a consultation regarding low back pain. Very professional and skilled at assessing patients.

After getting an epidural last year, I returned with pain and Dr. Tekmyster told me there was no reason I should be in pain and suggested I go to therapy. He was rude, dismissive, and didn't even say goodbye when he left. He was in the room for less than ten minutes. After my visit, I immediately saw another doctor because I knew something was wrong, and sure enough, I had two additional herniations in my lower lumbar spine. If Dr. Tekmyster had listened to me or bothered to even do an updated MRI, he would've seen this for himself instead of just brushing me off. I do not recommend him at all, but I'm glad he acted the way he did so I could get proper help.

I want to thank Dr. Gene Tekmyster for he is the only doctor who made the right diagnosis and treatment of my pains. I have seen enough wrong doctors after my car accident 3 years ago in June 2018, for pains of leg, hip, waist, and back. Dr. Tekmyster just treated my lumbar spine and now I am not afraid of walking with sharp pains anymore. He sent me to the best Physical Therapy Center SPARC. He encouraged me to take the right treatment and each time I raised questions, he listened patiently. He also gave me the hope that my back and legs should be able to function normally in time. Now 2 and half months after his treatment, I stopped taking Tylenol everyday, and already made 2 trips to Costco, 1 trip to Target without riding the electric carts in the stores. I came to Dr. Tekmeister with back and hip pain that was extremely debilitating. I have always been very active so I was seeking help to return me to my normal life. I don’t know how he has good reviews. He missed a spinal fracture and I went to see an actual spine surgeon. Not a want to be surgeon and they found my problem. He is nice to make up for his lack of knowledge and skill. Beware. Get a second opinion

Dr Tekmyster, assistant prof ortho surgery, Keck Medicine USC, is a wondetful spinal injection specialist ! I 've been suffering age-related low back pain, and it turnrd out to be osteoarthritis... Some so-called specialist in Beverly Hills wanted cash up front of $2,000 for a spinal injection ! Dr Tekmyster accepted medicare and BlueCross(anthrm) senior plan abd gave me a steroid shot... Six days later, I am nearly pain free for the first time in years and I am just so grateful to USC snd Dr Tekmyster ! I am a senior and have been suffering from low-back pain, spondylosis, an osteoarthritis. Dr. Tekmyster of USC's Kekmedicine gave me a corticosteroid spinal injection, and today is the fourth day, and I feel much better. De. I was suffering from really bad pain in my hip joint. I was able to see Dr. Tekmyster within the week of contacting his office. Since he is an athlete himself he was well versed in the mechanics of different exercises and that helped him diagnose my injury immediately. I got an XRay and received a hip injection to treat my pain during the visit. Dr. Tekmyster’s treatment and care allowed me to resume my fitness activities without pain. I’m very grateful to him. Dr Tekmyster is honestly the best! Super professional, amazing staff, clean rooms & onsite X-rays. He's very friendly & replies to emails super quickly. I won't go to anyone else from now on!

I have had continuing back issues for years. Then my pain hit my knees, I at that point had two partial knee replacements, went back to the surgeon he did all the tests, etc and they showed there was nothing in the knees that would explain the pain and he realized that is was most likely generating from my back. He referred me to Dr Tekmyster who step by step took me through different treatments, when none of them worked long term he said it shows me that a spinal ablation should be the solution. I had this in January and today I can say that my almost lifelong chronic back pain and the knee pain are gone. I cannot say enough good about how confident I am in his abilities. My physical therapist recommended Dr. Tekmyster to investigate ongoing issues with my back that was able to be resolved in PT. I was pleasantly surprised how quickly I was able to obtain an appointment. Dr. Tekmyster listened to what I had to say about the ongoing issues and after an examination was able to diagnose the problem which was confirmed with X-rays and a MRI afterward. We discussed several solutions and opted for the solution that best meet my needs. From the time of my initial appointment to the solution was less than 3 weeks and I resumed my normal activities pain free. The experience with Dr. Tekmyster and staff was excellent and the service top notch. I have been under Dr. Tekmyster's care for the past year and found him to be very knowledgeable and caring. His approach to personal health is outstanding and would highly recommend him to anyone suffering with back and hip pain as I have. He is always available and takes the time to fully understand the concerns and needs of (this) patient. He is the best!

I was fortunate to meet with Doctor Tekmyster. He is the consummate professional - knowledgeable and attentive. He really helped me and I am truly appreciative. I have already recommended Dr. Tekmyster to my son-in-law who is currently suffering with the same affliction.

Hardly ever touched me, wouldn't listen or cared that I was in pain for 2 years straight.

Great Experience!

Staff and Doctor were great, provided excellent customer service and care

Dr Teckmeyster is a great doctor who has helped me relieve pain for my upper and lower back, he really wants his patients to walk out of the office pain free he really cares about them

I did not have to wait to see the doctor. The people working there were efficient and friendly. Doctor Tekmyster was very attentive and knowledgeable.

Dr. Tekmyster was prompt, compassionate, kind and sincere, highly recommend! Office was immaculate and staff was awesome as well.

Very patient orientated doctor. Took enough time to carefully review past back issues and explain possible causes to wife and I and timely schedule treatment and followup appointment. Am satisfied that he understood my problem and will try his best to relieve my symptoms.
