Rude and uneducated. This “doctor” should be out of practice! All he’s care about is getting you into surgery you don’t need and meaningless appointments. Gene did my surgery, he messed something up and I’m having severe pain even after 1 year. After left knee surgery Shaffer saw me for left knee, he wrote all notes about right knee and prescribed wrong knee MRI. After I confronted him and requested to fix the prescription he refused and said “it’s ok, get the other MRI what you don’t need then see me again”’. What a disrespectful piece of $h!t. Because to Dr. Shaffer non essential surgeryI have non stop pain now and I have to take pain meds every single day. Thanks for F-ing my knee "doctor". NEVER AGAIN!

They will chase you for surgery but afterwards, they don not care. I have left numerous messages about my pain meds needing prior authorization and no one has got back to me. It's the worst experience ever for someone in pain, clearly your patients don't matter. It's all about money smh

I only pushed one star so i can share my experience. It was awful he was the meanest Dr i ever been to. Heartless im a person that's suffering with depression he had no compassion to my feelings and on top of it all i got to undergo another operation because he didn't do it right. Three years later my foot still leaking fluid. I wouldn't recommend anyone to him. I felt like i was gonna die. I only pushed one star so i can share my experience. I have never encountered a doctor like Dr. GW. Shaffer who was more irreverent or disrespectful during our session He spent his time raising his voice and stating what my symptoms were and what presented on x-ray did not match. The rest of the time he spent getting me out of his office and referring me to other physicians. This behavior from this doctor was appalling and unprofessional. I do not recommend you see this doctor. The doctor wasn’t completely wrong in his assessment however a stopped clock is right twice a day.

Very thorough and personable. He answered all my questions. He noticed I had a birthday coming up and wished me a good one.

Bedside manner is not the best. He talks over you and does not allow you to ask questions or express your concerns. I am a nurse. And I was shocked at the condescending attitude he directs towards patients. The doctor was unaware I was a nurse.

Horrible doctor with no communication skills and is straight up rude. Also, PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW HIM TO PERFORM SURGERY! I wish I would had went some where else, now I need reconstructive surgery. Run as fast as you can when u see his face!????????????????????????

very rude doctor and does not care about his patients I can't say how he treats his other patients but far as me, he treated me with no compassion or dignity, He told me that I have used my limit for today’s visit I was very concerned about my left hand my index finger they did not take an x-ray and when I confronted him he told me I have reached my limit and made me feel quite uncomfortable. He told me that t physical therapy would take care of it and then walked off and left me

Dr Shaffer is a excellent doctor he made us feel included in all of our questions regarding my boyfriend surgery being that hopefully this will be his first and last one he ensure me that every thing went well after the procedure we could not have ask for a better doctor!!!!

TERRIBLE scheduling nightmare to obtain any follow up or guidance on post-op

Dr. Shaffer was always very willing to answer my many questions. I don't understand the other reviews I've read on this site. All I can say is that it is often the disgruntled patients who fill out reviews. Before my tendon transfer and osteotomy, I had many, many questions especially because I was going to home on my own after the surgery. He answered them all, and so, I knew beforehand what to expect. The outcome of the surgery was excellent.

He is rude and unprofessional. He didn't want me asking him questions about my concerns. He said to just let me talk.
