He was pleasant and polite, but absolutely useless for relieving my post surgical pain. For a Palliative Care Specialist, his care left me screaming in pain for months. I suffered intensely under his care at Alta Bates Hospital after major surgery. His training is in multi-modal, non-opioid pain treatment, which I find completely ineffective for severe acute pain. He offered Tylenol and acupuncture which did nothing for my pain. He is against the use of effective opioid analgesic doses even for the most severe, high impact post surgical pain. He should never treat anything but mild pain and shouldn’t ever treat hospital patients.
