I am extremely satisfied with Dr. Willstein. The hip replacement surgery went well and the recovery has been fast. I've now had both hips replaced by Dr. Willstein.

Dr. Willstein is a professional of the highest degree. He is most courteous and kind in his bedside approach. His skills as a surgeon are the best!! Excellent outcome after my Total reverse shoulder surgery. I would always recommend him as a great Doctor!!!!

I've had Dr. Willstein perform two knee replacements and repair a completely torn bicep. He's always performed surgery so well that I get 100% mobility and strength back. HIs bedside manner is gentle and kind and I also highly recommend his P.A. Wade Hudson.

Dr. Willstein performed 2 surgeries for me: Total Knee Replacement in March of 2018 and Rotator Cuff surgery in June 2019. He did an excellent job! I am now pain free!! I have had pain for a lot of years prior to surgery. He explained both procedures in detail, answered all of my questions and was very professional throughout all of my appointments. I had a torn medial meniscus. I waited until fluid buildup in the knee was getting ahead of me Waiting was worse than good. This kept me from lots of everyday activities. In July 2017, Dr. Willstein was my surgeon for my knee. I was in excellent care by very friendly staff, reception, to nurses, & anesthesiologist, and especially my surgeon, Dr. Willstein. I had a very excellent experience! My healing time was exceptional. My trust is with Dr. Willstein at MB&J, and all staff.

My experience with Dr. Willstein went beyond my expectations. He performed simultaneous knee replacements on both of my knees last March 6th. Although hesitant originally to perform both procedures at the same time, with further testing Doctor agreed to do the procedures. I started PT immediately after my hospital release and a month later really began making progress. My therapists were aggressive and at 2 months I was completely pain free and I returned to work. Dr Willstein operated on my shoulder and did a terrible job. Told him and he said he could do nothing (he is a Quack if you ask me. I went to several others and was told they could do nothing! good old boys club I guess. Met Justin Jacobson new to Missoulaand he said he could fix it and did just that 3 years later works great.

Dr. Willstein has replaced both of my knees, one in 2012, the other in 2017, The outcome was great. I recommend him to anyone needing help with knee or hip problems, He is professional and caring.

I value the courtesy and caring of all the staff at Missoula Bone and Joint. I was called within 20 minutes of my arrival. Dr. Gary Willstein was very thorough in reviewing my X-rays and MRI images with me, making sure that I understand my problem, the corrective surgery needed and rehab needs and expectations. He even called me at home the next week to discuss my case further. My full trust in the integrity and expertise of these providers has not wavered.

I was very pleased with the expertise, advice and care received from Dr. Willstein for a broken collar bone. He provided clear direct options and advice. Surgery was excellent and all follow up visits were great.

Dr. Willstein performed a total knee replacement on my left knee in April, 2017. He had been very helpful in addressing my knee issues for approximately 1 year prior to surgery. He came highly recommended by my long-time personal physician. From my perspective the surgery simply could not have been handled in a more professional manner. The result has been excellent! It has given me back my mobility. I'm truly looking forward to his replacement of the other knee after duck season in Jan. 18'

Dr. Willstein ruined my husbands shoulder & our lives, all in one foul swoop. He used 2 metal screws/anchors to repair a torn shoulder labrum. 1 backed out into the joint because it was not properly placed & each time the arm was used, the screw tore up the inside of the shoulder. He has had 4 ADDITIONAL surgeries to try & repair the damage, but unfortunately there wasn't a lot that could be done & a full shoulder replacement was needed. His arm & our lives will never be the same. Thanks Doc!

Not very helpful. Talks a good game. Hard to get a hold of on the phone. Nurse doesn't return calls. My physical therapist called 5 times and didn't ever get a return call.
