About Gary Alan Weinstock
Reviews for Gary Alan Weinstock
The doctor Weinstock is great doctor, only reason for one star is the actual account department they utilize. They don't bill the customer or reach out to customer's insurance company until they get close to a year mark. Then they sent you overall bill for the whole year. You will be surprise to see the bill. When you ask to speak to supervisor, it goes to voice mail. No matter how many time you leave a voice mail, they do not call you back. To add, they do not have any online payment system or accept payment over the phone. Now I would physically have to go to the actual office and make the payment that was not billed for entire year. I am not a local to that Doc's facility anymore...SMH The doctor Weinstock is great doctor, only reason for one star is the actual account department they utilize. EDIT: This is an updated review. I have changed my rating to 1 star to reflect my experience when moving to a new town and switching doctors. I was a patient of Doctor Weinstock for at least 5 years. When I tried to get my medical records sent to my new doctor (I moved to another town), I was told they couldn't be faxed - as his office lacks a 'secure fax'. Instead they would have to be sent through the mail. Ok no big deal - except they couldn't be sent without my permission in writing. So I had to mail him a letter, saying it was ok to send my records to my new doctor. Fine - I get it, HIPAA compliance and all. So I sent the letter, with instructions on mailing the records to my new doctor, just as I was told to do. Three weeks later, and my new doctor still had not received the records. I called Dr. Weinstock's office - turns out they had not sent them out, even though I had literally written a letter saying to do this, and spoken to them on the phone about it. When the records finally did arrive at my new doctor's office, I was told they were almost completely illegible chicken scratch. It seems that nothing in Doctor Weinstock's office is up to date. No digital records. Not even a fax machine. When I called to express my dissatisfaction at the difficulty of what should have been a routine transfer of records, not only would Doctor Weinstock not speak to me, I was hung up on. After deciphering the records, my new doctor learned that for my allergy shots mixtures Doctor Weinstock had been mixing incompatible proteins - such as cockroach with tree and grass pollens. This causes the plant proteins to break down and thus the immunotherapy's effectiveness is reduced. According to my new doctor, this has been common knowledge in the field for a long time. It seems that I wasted many years and dollars with this office. I always liked Doc Weinstock because he was cheerful and nice to talk to. However as soon as I began getting treatment elsewhere, it became clear to me that the quality of care he provides is poor and that his office practices are woefully outdated. Avoid at all costs. He’s a wonderful and thorough allergist. He’s brilliant! He took a through history and figured out my problem immediately. Thank you doctor.
For more than two years Dr. Weinstock has been my allergist. I’ve appreciated his warm and knowledgeable expertise and my quality of life has improved because I don’t have to feel like I need to live in a bubble because of my allergies. There’s no question I pose to him that he doesn’t cheerfully answer with a balance of science and practicality. Not only is he awesome, but his staff is amazing too. I have been a regular patient of Dr. Weinstock for almost 20 years. He has treated me for allergies, asthma and anaphylaxis. I am currently recovering from COVID 19, but still suffering from lingering respiratory issues. Even though I had not been to his office in approx. 16 months, I turned to Dr. Weinstock in my time of crisis, as he was the last allergist I had seen, and he is very familiar with my “pre-existing condition.” I was shocked at the response. Dr. Weinstock refused to speak with me, knowing I was on the phone and currently having breathing problems. His nurse/administrator, Mary Lou, must share his lack of compassion and professionalism, as she literally hung up the phone on me when I repeated my request for assistance. At a time when medical professionals impress us daily with their selflessness and generosity, I am completely horrified by Dr. Weinstock’s lack of moral character. Not to mention the total abandonment of his hippocratic oath during a global pandemic
Horrible Experience. Outdated office. Was given a run around when I tried to get copies of my records from him.
I had a wonderful experience at Dr. Weinstock's office yesterday. I called yesterday morning to schedule an appointment, and was told there was an availability later that same day(!). I came in, filled out the usual paperwork, and a few minutes later was shown to his office. Dr. Weinstock sat down, listened to all my concerns, and answered all my questions. He spent a lot of time with me and the appointment was not rushed at all. He went above and beyond, providing me with free samples of the medications I needed, and typed up (himself) detailed and clear instructions, making sure I understood the medication course. I walked out of the office with everything I needed! Overall, he's a very attentive and caring physician, and would strongly recommend him!
Doctor is unaware of what tests are covered within certain insurances. Sent me for tests and it ended up costing me $400. I have been to doctors for more than 20+ years and have never had a problem like this.
Dr spends a lot of time with patient. He is friendly and knowledgeable. He is an excellent allergist.
Dr. Weinstock is a compassionate, focused, beyond patient Doctor who ive known for decades. In this world of Doctors that have assembly-line type setups and have sold their practices out to huge institutions, Dr Weinstock has chosen to stand alone and give each patient 1:1 personalized care. The patient is not rushed and he listens which is unheard of. If you are looking to deal with someone who is kind, knowledgeable and understanding look no further. It’s a rare practice and his hours are very user friendly. He spends a great deal of time with new patients so don’t have someone in the car waiting..the first visit is a long one. Dr. Weinstock is an excellent doctor who always has the time to discuss the patients situation and steps towards getting better.
I have been seeing Dr. Weinstock for years. He follows the allergy and asthma literature and recommends treatments that are effective and not any unnecessary ones. He's one of the few independent doctors left and better for it. I recommend him very highly.
The best allergist I have ever gone to. He genuinely cares and takes the time to make sure you understand and are comfortable. The whole staff worked hard to get my medications approved and deal with my insurance instead of forcing me to use painful medication. Honestly, he's an awesome doctor, the staff is nice! (And since moving to NY that's rare) Thank you Dr. Weinstock, I appreciate all you've done and I would recommend you to anyone I know! :) The best allergist I have ever gone to. I have been a patient of Dr. Weinstock's for over 20 years. He is very knowledgeable and caring and always takes the time to answer my questions. I have recommended him to many allergy sufferers over the years and will continue to do so without hesitation.
Outdated doctor – doesn’t provide latest care techniques and certainly does not properly document care. Only interested in upping his charges. I went to him bc he had open availability in the area after my physician’s office closed. Now he’s held onto parts of my medical record from his time with NYU and won’t release them in a timely manner for me to see my physician and continue care. Would NOT recommend this doctor. I requested a refill for my nasal spray and he refused to give it. I was told that I had to be seen first. I had an appointment for the following week and a half, but was told to come in sooner. That was something I was unable to do as I work and have children. You would think I was asking for a controlled substance. I decided to find another allergist and when I did, I requested for my records to be sent to my new allergist...NIGHTMARE! He deserves ZERO stars!!

The most disgusting dr I have ever met in my life. Would do anything to make a dollar. I'm 9 months pregnant on bed rest and he refuses to refill my prescription at the pharmacy bc he wants to make money on another visit from me. And even after explaining I'm on bed rest he still refuses to prescribe the medication I have been already taking for the past 2 years. Makes me sick to my stomach. Absolutely disgusting what he would do to make a dollar.
