Dr. Markoff and practice was a big mistake for us. The practice used to be good, but now its a wreck. We got a judgement for $1495 a many years after service was finished w/o so much as a bill or even a phone call. We did not even know about this judgment till our checking account was one day frozen. I cant turn back time, but I can warn others to stay away from these crooks. Now we have 2 options get a lawyer that will cost thousands to fight this judgement which we will win as it was bogus, but it will cost thousands for the truth to come out. Alternatively we can pay the $2500 + interest (that's what they say its at now). Word to the wise don't get involved with this place. Pulling every dollar they can get out of each patient seems to be their goal and not your health or baby's. SHADY PRACTICE! NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE, STAY FAR AWAY! MAKE SURE THEY DONT EMPTY YOUR BANK ACCOUNT LIKE THEY DID OURS! I have been a patient here since 2001 (when it was Lexington OBGYN). It used to be an ok practice and I had a wonderful doctor who is sadly no longer at the practice. They are now CareMount OBGYN and to say it is a nightmare is an UNDERSTATEMENT. The Drs talk down to you and treat you like garbage. The wait times on the phone can be for HOURS, good luck reaching a DR when you need one (including when the baby is already crowning in the hospital and Drs are missing). Shame on you CareMount medical for turning a lovely practice into a nightmare from hell. From someone who used them .....the good doctor already left this practice long ago. Current CareMount practice Doctors are disasters and still running off the reputation of those that left long ago. If you care about yourself then STAY AWAY from this RUDE practice! These people are just off the wall. Protect yourself and your health and use another DR and practice . Hope I can save someone from the HELL we went and still going through over 10 years later. Billing is a nightmare with them. It feels like you are dealing with a loanshark who will do anything and everything to totally destroy your life without a care in the world. We paid them hundreds of thousands of dollars over the years using them for many births. They may possibly HARASS you for years to come like they did to us. Expect a $1500 BILL once you leave the practice. If you search the web on yelp as I did you will find others that also complained about this issue. Where they bill you for $1500 (looks like that's the amount they charge everyone) years later and you wont know about it till they FREEZE your bank account, ruin your credit, and hold all your savings by freezing your checking and savings account. Trust me I'm dealing with a Judgement, Bank Levy, Savings I CAN NOT use. This is over 10 years later. Mind you we had the best insurance and they got paid hundreds of thousands of dollars from all our children over the years and we never got a bill or any notice till one day we tried to access our savings account and was told it was frozen and we cant touch our own money. Please I beg you all to make a simple decision now that will save you headaches for many years to come. Protect your credit and bank account go someplace else. They are Billing me $1500 (by the time i was told about it it became OVER $2500 + interest and fees) that they never told me or submitted it to my insurance. Good luck trying to reach some one to try to resolve this as no one calls you back, impossible to reach Dr Markoff. No one cares. Thank God, I am not using them now for having a baby or some sort of surgery. Go elsewhere and protect your credit score as well. If you use them be prepared to shell out additional thousands for a lawyer who is the only ones that can protect your rights. Dr Markoff was so negative and rude made me feel uncomfortable. Will never go back. There are too many doctors in NYC to go to one that makes you feel uncomfortable. They messed with my savings account and had all my money locked up for weeks already. If i want to fight it I need to pay thousands for a lawyer. They took away my rights and may do the same to you. If they are by some chance reading this SHAME ON YOU DR MARKOFF!, You intimidate your patients with sketchy billing and collection tactics is wrong and will not get ignored. We will notify the FTC of your actions, find out all the other patients you did this too and will come down on your SCAM. You should be DRs not loansharks.

He really is the best. Such a positive overall experience. I went to see him for a minor procedure. He treated me with professionalism, calm and just the right amount of sense of humor. The fact that he works one block away from my home is just a bonus

Dr. Gary Markoff is a very personable, intelligent, and focused physician with a no-nonsense attitude. It's very refreshing, indeed! He has an impeccable bedside manner - very gentle, calm, and thorough.

Dr. Markoff is truly the best. He has been my OBGYN for a few years now, and delivered my first child this summer. He was patient throughout my pregnancy, never rushing me out the door and thoroughly answering all of my questions. He made himself available to answer questions over the phone and to even see us after office hours when I was suspected to be in labor. He made both my husband and me feel calm during labor and delivery, and spent hours with us before, during and after childbirth. We felt like we were his only patients in the hospital, that’s how much time he spent with us! As a first time mom, I didn’t know what to expect when giving birth, but Dr. Markoff was kind and encouraging, and kept the energy in the room positive and light. I felt like I was in the most capable hands. My family is so grateful for his expert care through my pregnancy, delivery and postpartum. Dr. Markoff is really the best of the best!
