I have Vern with Dr Gary Levengood since 2006 his care and manner has kept me going through my aging years. His office has always treated me with respect and friendliness

A friend recommended Gary to me, I had been diagnosed with arthritis in my right knee from another Surgeon, however when I met Dr Levengood and he explained the Conformis Total Knee I decided to go with him. It’s been 9 months since surgery and I have no knee pain, some muscle and tendon tightness and I continue to work on that. I’m 75, have muscle damage from Statin Drugs, which slowed my recovery. I would and have sent friends to see him and he has replaced their knee as well

Absolutely botched my Mom’s rotator cuff repair. Told her to keep going to therapy and keep coming every month to follow up, but she cannot raise her arm above her waist. She took my Dad for appointments after she quit going to him and he wouldn’t even look at her. Shameful.

I am sorry some of the patients of Dr Levengood had bad experiences. Without him, I would not be doing what I love, showing horses. He has literally put me back together. I suffer from osteoarthritis and started having problems around the age of 12. I am very grateful to Dr Levengood and his whole staff.

Wonderful office. Have had surgery done on both hands along with a couple broken bones and it’s always. been a good experience. Office is very good about getting you in ASAP And you never feel rushed which sometimes means a wait but they are worth it. PT dept is great also. Nice to have both in one place.

I have had three surgeries with Dr. Levengood and all of them came out with the results that I had hoped for and more. From the front office staff to the PA's as well as Dr. Levengood, they do an amazing job!

My 19 year old daughter was going through hip pain due to a boating accident she was in 5 years ago. Tina Eiken our Pastor’s wife referred us to go to Dr Dave Chiropractor for her pain. Within 10 minutes of his exam and ex-rays Dr Dave referred us to an Orthopaedic Surgent. He said I think she has torn her Labrum. Again Tina referred us to Dr Levengood of Sports South Medicine. After an MRI we were given three options. Cortisone Shot, PRP Procedure and Surgery. We went back to Dr Dave for his recommendation and thoughts. He said we should go with surgery based on the severity of her pain and her age. So Dr Levengood referred us to Dr Brian Morgan of OrthoAtlanta. He agreed to take the case and do the surgery immediately. Ashley had the surgery on Friday, June 26th. Dr Morgan said good call on doing the surgery. There was a lot of damage to the labrum and it was extremely loose. He took care of all the repairs and she is on the road to recovery. We couldn’t be more happy with Dr Levengood and his amazing staff. Rebecca is an absolute doll to work with and Debbie is incredible in scheduling and keeping things so organized. I started seeing Dr Levengood in March, 2019 to check an ongoing problem to my hip. He diagnosed my problem as back related and referred to a very good neurosurgeon. I broke my foot in 2020 and he treated me for this and I have had physical therapy at his office. He is very knowledgable as well as his staff. Dr. Levengood should be ashamed of his practice. I went to see him about pain in my foot. This man spent less than 60 seconds in the exam room with me. Made up his mind very quickly about what was wrong and what the treatment should be. He never touched my foot where it was actually hurting and never asked any questions about the pain to try and determine what was wrong. He was confident that by looking at my foot he could determine what was wrong. I feel very bad for the student that was shadowing him. Not a good example to learn from. GO SEE SOMEONE ELSE! Dr. Levengood did both of my knee surgery. I didn't have any problems with my recovery. I would recommend Dr Levengood.

Dr. Levingood needs to listen to his patients during visits he runs in and out and your left thinking what just happned . listening skills to be worked on. Harris Patel your P.A can tutor you. he goes the extra mile to find the source of pain .

Two surgerys with him on my right knee to fix the meniscus tear, both failed my knee is always swallowed and Im always in pain. I only saw him 30 min before the surgery, I don't recommend find someone else

Dr Levengood convinced me that all I needed was a partial need replacement. I’ve suffered with bad knees for years.?It was a complete failure! After seeing another surgeon I was told too much bone was removed and I’m stuck with a failed knee replacement. Unfortunately Dr Levengood is arrogant and seems fine with his terrible decision. My daughter had ACL surgery with Dr. Levengood several years ago. It went terribly bad. Both screws came loose and caused her a great deal of pain. Even after repeatedly requesting X-rays be made to determine the cause of the pain, Dr. Levengood nor his PA would do an X-ray as they were convinced she had a low pain tolerance. They even suggested we take her to a Sports Psychiatrist. They told me repeatedly that an X-ray at that stage was not protocol and that everything with her knee was fine, she just had no tolerance for pain. They sent me home with a cauterizing stick to cauterize a sore she had on her knee. We immediately found another WONDERFUL orthopedic physician. Within 5 minutes of being in his office, an X-ray revealed both of the screws used to attach the ACL had come loose and one of them was coming through her skin causing the sore on her knee. The location the screw was coming through on her knee was where Levengood's office told me to cauterize. Our new physician removed that screw in his office as it was literally sitting just under the surface of the skin. It took 2 additional surgeries to repair her knee and 6 weeks of IV antibiotics at home to rid her body of the infection. She is now 21 years old and experiences lifelong constant knee pain due to the bone infection and damage to her knee as a result of this doctor missing the problem because he was convinced he had done no wrong and would therefore, not go outside of his normal protocol to determine why she was in pain! Be VERY VERY careful. If your surgery has no complications, you will probably be fine with Dr. Levengood. But, if you have complications, it is my opinion that he is too arrogant to think anything with his procedures/surgeries can go wrong. I have heard, first hand, from other people and medical professionals, that multiple people have had similar bad experiences with him. Always the best medical treatment! I wouldn’t trust my family to another orthopedic surgeon.

Dr. Levengood and his staff are amazing. They took great care of me. Harris Patel (Physician Assistant) is very knowledgeable, professional and personable. I am also doing my physical therapy in their office. Physical therapy team is great as well.

Dr. Levengood did a fantastic job on my fractured ankle which required a plate, screws, a bolt, and a band. Just a few years later I was able to wear the cutest high heels to my daughter's wedding. His staff was friendly and helpful, as well. Thank you so much.

Terrible experiencd with this doctor. I had an appt which was at 4:10pm. I waited over hour before being called, then waited another 30 minutes before he came in to see my daughter. No consideration for time. The visit literally took 30 seconds. The front staff or the office mgr professionalism or customer service. The office mgr kept talking over me and said "everyone wants to come see Dr. Levengood. Still will be charged regardless of time with him. What would you like me to do?"

Always a great experience. Professional, friendly and competent. This includes his staff as well as Dr. Levengood.

Dr. Levengood and the staff of sports medicine are very knowledgeable whether in the clinic or physical therapy. I had a partial knee replacement 2 years ago and have no complaints. I had an accident last November and messed up very badly my left leg. Here I am again asking for his help. All I can say is thank you!

Definitely! Everyone there is excellent. I’ve had two surgeries with Dr. Levengood and would not hesitate to refer family and friends to him. He’s up on all of the latest treatments and extremely skilled. His PA, Diana Dean is the best. She gave me a lot of confidence in my procedures and is a “Stitcher-upper Extraordinaire” ?? The staff does a great job of scheduling visits, surgeries, and insurances. They took care of everything for me.

Dr. Levengood is the only doctor to use for orthopedic issues. Total care from beginning thru rehab. I walked out of recovery after total knee replacement!

He was awesome! Worth the wait ! If you can get right in to see a surgeon then they may not be so good !! Dr Levengood is very busy and takes his time on each and every patient

One size 24hour surgery and recovery does not fit all. Had to have do over. Second doctor said first surgery doctor had used poor medical judgement .

I've been going to Dr Levengood for several years. I have always been pleased with his care. There are times the wait is long but I'm not his only patient. His PA DR Patel is awesome as well. I would recommend him to anyone with the confidence they are in good hands.

this man is a quack!

He is terrible. He performed a surgery on my mom and damaged her rotator cuff and elbow. That's not even the problem she came in with. It's almost been a year now with no good results. It's gotten worse since seeing him. He also doesn't care every time she goes there. He just gives her blanket treatments which don't help at all. She's under workers comp and he knows he messed up, so he's just trying to save his own hide. Please don't come see him. Find someone more reliable

I have had shoulder pain for quite some time and after speaking with some people I know in the area, Dr. Levengood was highly recommended. From check in to check out for my first initial visit was top notch. All staff were very courteous and Dr. Levengood was very thorough with me during my visit to get to the bottom of my shoulder pain. MRI was done and shortly after I was scheduled for surgery. It has been over 3 months and doing great! Highly recommend Dr. Levengood as your surgeon!

Dr. Levengood performed a partial left knee replacement and ACL repair on me in March 2016. My knee never improved and actually got markedly worse, to the point where I needed to obtain another surgery 8 months afterwards (a full knee replacement this time). I lost 8 months of my life because of Dr. Levengood''s mistaken diagnosis of my knee - furthermore, my post-operative wound did not heal properly, he didn't take it seriously, and I went to a wound clinic for 2 months before it healed. Started with scheduling appt. was told one thing but received a confirmation text for a different date. Filled out numerous paperwork pages (Approximately ten). I was glad I arrived 30 minutes early . Waited well over an hour to be called back to exam room. After preliminary info taken from staff, X-rays taken and time waited (1 hr 30 min) dr appeared with entourage of people and spent about 5 minutes total. Very matter of fact. IN & OUT. Didn't ask if I had any questions just matter of fact

Worst experience I've ever had at any doctors office. I waited two hours in the waiting room just to wait another 45 min in the room. The doctor I wouldn't say rude but not friendly at all. He came in for 5 minutes barely listen to what I said the. Ran tests. He basically dismissed me. I had to come back three times the entire time I was in horrible pain. He wouldn't give me anything for the pain. I was in enough pain for him to finally give me surgery. Worst doctor I have ever seen.

Over a 2 1/2 year period I had 3 rotatory cuff surgeries. 3? you ask? Well, I could blame it on the Doctor but can not honestly do that. The 1st Left shoulder repair was so painless I pushed the rehab a little too hard I tore the repair and had to do it over. Hardly the Doctor's fault. Dr. Levengood is an absolute magician! I can speak as well for Harris Patel, he answered every question I had as things moved along with my recovery. I kept saying how painless It was and he warned me to cool it.

On Jan. 3rd 2011- Dr Levengood removed a morton neuroma on my foot, he said all I would feel is a slight numbness in my toes after surgery from then on. It all went down hill from there. The pain is much worse than before surgery 4 years later. I have gone back in to see Levengood on countless occasions and all he ever did was pat me on the back and one time he even said " well Im sorry but I did try"...Never once did he ever mention any further treatments to stop the pain.. I would never recommend this surgery to be done by Dr Levengood..and he dosnt seem to really care! (I wish that I had never had the surgery)... Dr. Levengood did my emergency hip replacement & it was painless & had me back to full walking within 5 weeks! That was 4 yrs ago & I couldn't be anymore happy!
