Gary A Johnson

Well, Dr. Johnson scheduled a hysterectomy on my wife, who is now deceased, and remove some cancerous cells. During the surgery Dr. Johnson unknowingly cut her colon. After surgery she was sent to recovery then to observation before releasing her. Two days after surgery she began to run a fever. Fearing infection, she was sent to imaging where they found stool was being released into her abdomen. Once detected she was scheduled for surgery to repair the leak from the colon. Dr. Johnson performed the colon surgery to stitch to colon. After that surgery a few days later the stitching didn't stop the leakage. So, Dr. Johnson had to perform a colon bypass surgery which gave her an ostomy bag. A day later the ostomy began to retract and yet another surgery was scheduled to remove the ostomy and perform an iliostomy (sp) because the colon ostomy was cut too short. The iliostomy surgery was successful, you want to call that sunless. Dr. Johnson might be a good gynecological surgeon but intestinal surgeon he is not.

He did a abdominal surgery on me. Sent me home too soon and 12 hours later I was back in the ER. Had pinching after surgery, he could not find cause and sent me home. Ended up with massive hernia that required a 46k surgery to fix. Huge ego and dismissive of patients.

He insists on husband or boyfriend being present for exam. His office was decorated with framed bras and panties. He’s rough during exams and getting him to answer questions is like pulling teeth. It seems like he wants to charge insurance as much as possible so he won’t answer questions or give any test results without an appointment and exam.

I just movedback and was referred to Dr. Johnson, he took the time to explain my cancer, which my original oncologist didn't.

In my 1st appointment I endured the most painful pelvic and rectal exam I’ve ever had. I was so sore it was painful to walk the next day. When I called in for my test results I was told they’d only be given in person. On my 2nd appt I politely declined a 2nd exam, stating he’d just given me one and I just wanted my results. Dr. Johnson became visibly angry and was resistant to giving me my results without a 2nd exam. He was argumentative and combative about every question I asked. At the end, he said there was nothing wrong and he didn’t need to see me again. Additionally, when I was there, the back offices were decorated with framed bras and women’s panties, which I personally found creepy.

Dr. Johnson is a very trusted physician. I trusted him with my life when I found out I had ovarian cancer. He explains everything. He chooses treatments best for you.

Dr. Gary Johnson needs to work on his people skills, I got a few eye rolls when I would ask about hormones after he performed my total hysterectomy I will never get that out of my head. I also asked for a patch or some type of hormone after my surgery and all I got was a fan and that was after I begged for one. I did not have cancer and I am greatful but Dr. Gary Johnson made me feel very uncomfortable, it will be a very long time before I get over my experience.

Amazing man. Took his time explaining things.

Dr Johnson has an excellent dr. I received quality care while I was a patient. He has a caring bedside manner and a deep interest in his patients. He's probably the best dr I've ever went to. He's very serious about your care. He's a superb dr. I'd highly recommend him.
