Our family was on vacation in the area and one night our daughter had an emergency problem with her wire that was causing her a lot of pain. Our home orthodontist was able to contact Dr Carter’s office first thing in the morning and he accommodated her right away to remove the defective wire. We are so grateful for their responsiveness. The office staff and Dr Carter were very kind and friendly. We are so grateful for their expert care, which allowed us to continue to enjoy our vacation.

We love Dr Carter and his staff! I have four daughters who have beautiful smiles because of the excellent care they received at Orthodontic Specialists. We always felt valued and appreciated! We highly recommend Dr Carter and his amazing staff!

I am thoroughly impressed with Dr Carter’s staff and skill. We had a consultation for my 8 year old and the staff were interactive with him as if he were family coming to visit for dinner! My son was comfortable and all smiles the entire consultation. While there, I asked if he could improve my flattened, old looking teeth. Although not a normal patient there, he told me that he can help and created these natural “incursions” which make me feel and look younger!! I had some pretty bad teeth and was told I’d have them in for 2 years. Dr Carer is the best he set the requirements and what I needed to do and he would get on the phone with me if I had an issue (which was very few and far between) and I got them off at a year and a half. I’m in Utah for a few weeks and frantically needed some new bands for my brackets and also had a lose wire. They were the first office I called and I’m so glad I did! They were so accommodating, helpful, and got me in right away. I was even asked if I needed wax or if anything felt off. Thank you Dr. Carter and to your amazing staff!

My teeth and gums started off so jacked and Dr. Carter walked me through the whole process, what the plan was and how they were going to execute it. It was really nice to know what was going on, they made it so that I could understand it all without being too basic in terminology. When I came here the staff was so welcoming. The best choice for Orthodontic care! Everyone in this office is super friendly and helpful. My daughter is relaxed here and everyone talked to her instead of over her head to mom and that means more than you'd think. They answered every question we had, explained everything they were going to do in detail and went out of their way to make us feel good about being there. Dr. Carter is an amazing orthodontist! I’ve been “visiting” the staff since I was a little girl! My dad got his braces when I was 4 and then my brother got his when I was 6 and Dr. Carter started to “check my teeth out” when I was 7! I got my braces on at 10 years old and I got them off at 13! I’m now 17 and I got my retainer fixed today, Dr. Carter makes sure that your teeth stay straight! The whole staff is so amazing and sweet! Carters years ago and stopped wearing my retainer, the past few years I noticed my teeth had moved slightly, I went back in to get a new retainer and they were able to make a new one at an incredibly low price. He was was honest and I wanted it done right and I knew it would take time. Most other orthodontists seem like they are in a race to the bottom. On Friday night, my daughter fell and knocked her front teeth back into her mouth. I called my dentist who said to go to the emergency room. I called Dr. Carter and he came in right away and numbed her teeth then moved the teeth back. He saved her front teeth in a very frightening situation and he didn't charge me anything because my family had been coming there for their braces for years. We will be forever grateful. Dr Carter is the best after my daughter had been under treatment with another orthodontist that messed up her whole mouth. After going to several orthodontists for consultations I felt like Dr. Carter was the only one that actually had an opinion based on what was best for my child instead of what was "standard protocol". Brought my son to Dr. Carter about 6 or 7 years ago. His teeth were over crowded and on top of each other. Today he has the most beautiful smile and that is all thanks to Dr. Carter and his team of professionals. Yesterday my daughter got her braces on. I knew when she needed braces I would bring her here. Love this place.

I got my braces off today, and everything is perfect! I love the fun and friendly staff, and I love how they explain all the processes they're doing so you know what's going on during your appointment. They asked multiple times if i liked my smile before they took them off to make sure I was satisfied. I highly recommend Dr. Carter!!

If you want a better smile, I would highly recommend Dr. Carter's office. The workers there are very nice and are always doing their best to try and help you. They always make sure that you leave their office happy, which you usually end up doing anyway! Thanks for making my smile perfect!

Over the years with 7 children having had braces, I have been to 4 different orthodontists. I feel extremely lucky to have found Dr. Carter. He is truly an expert and can spot potential problems quickly that others miss. He can take problem teeth and create a beautiful smile. We have been to doctors with the big office and all the bells and whistles, but have been sorely disappointed as important problems were missed because the staff did most of the checking with very brief checks by the orthodontist. Dr. Carter personally follows the progress of his patients closely each time and doesn't try to do unnecessary treatments. He goes above and beyond because he truly cares about his patients. I would not only highly recommend him, but I would not go anywhere else. He's the only one I trust. Great! Glad i chose this clinic

During one of my son's first appointments, we were brought back to the room to speak with Dr. Carter. He began angrily lecture myself, my husband, and my son related to the breaking of brackets, but my son had not broken one. My son had a tooth that was back behind his other teeth and it had quickly pushed out into place after the braces were put on. This tooth had never had a bracket placed yet, and this information should have been documented in his charts if he had taken the time to look. I was shocked at the level of his contractual threats and the anger in his demeanor and could not believe that he would treat a client that way, especially because we were punctually paying and respectful clients. We did not raise our voices or speak in a confrontational way during the interaction. We had signed the contract so we completed treatment there but refused to return with my daughter when it was time for her braces. Abusive behavior just is not acceptable. I have had two children go through braces with Dr. Gary Carter at Orthodontic Specialists of Utah. I was pleased with how quickly we could get through the appointments and get the kids back to school (although the kids would have loved missing more school). And the end result was great. My third child has been having some pre-braces - braces to straighten things out and prepare him to get in his permanent teeth, since he was very conscious of his crooked teeth.
