Dr. Garrett Donald Schwartz

Dr. Schwartz is a helpful and compassionate doctor. Although I moved from the area, he was a good doctor for me and I'd recommend him to anyone who needs a great local doctor.

Dr. Schwartz has been my primary care physician since he started his practice here in Gardnerville. He's empathetic and listens to what you have to say. My best advice to any patient is to stick to your original symptom (unless this is a new patient visit). When you bring a laundry list of problems any physician has to prioritize your care, and that's okay, but sticking to the reason you made an appointment in the first place helps you and helps him keep everyone's appointment timely. My parents go to Dr. Schwartz and really like him, BUT if you want to see him when you are sick forget about it! I have been with my parents several times when they have needed to get in that day. My mom was having horrible back pain. She tried to get in to see him or any other doctor in that office and was told she would have to wait three weeks. She couldn’t wait three weeks. She ended up having a cyst in her back. My dad went to urgent care over the weekend for extremely high blood pressure. Urgent care said he needed to see his doctor today. We called, of course, can’t get in to see any doctor in the office. They referred us to a clinic. So if you want to see your doctor when you REALLY need him this is not the office for you. Why someone would give Dr. Schwartz anything other than at least 4 stars, I cannot understand. I would give 5 but for his staff who are always screwing up something but who are lately much better. Dr Schwartz is reachable and understanding.
