Dr. Gail Schattner

Unfortunately, I’ve had to see many pulmonologists. Two from Penn Med, including the head of pulmonology. Two from Princeton Hospital, the head of pulmonology at Robert Wood and St. Peter’s Hospital in New Jersey. I saw two top pulmonologists at NYU. I was misdiagnosed by every one of them. All but one from NYU had no bedside manner at all. Meeting and working with Dr. Schnatter and her Assistant Anna has been a Godsend. I have many problems. She understands them all including the many that are not lung related. She works with all my many other doctors. She has hit every issue on the head. If I write to her on my portal I usually get an answer back immediately even if it’s not an emergency. I can wait days for other doctors and sometimes never get a response. I don’t think I have the words to explain just how great a doctor Dr. Schnatter is especially in a field that is always so hectic let alone now with the Covid situation. She is honestly the best doctor I’ve ever been to and that is saying more than you can imagine. I now live in New Jersey but if I have to take an Uber at some point I would do that to see Dr. Schnatter. I will not go to any other pulmonologist.

On March 29th I had a new patient appointment, with Dr. Schattner. It took me four months to get this appointment. I live in central New Jersey and, with a little traffic, it would take me 1-1/2 hours to get there. I left at 6:45, a full 2 hours and 15 minutes prior to the appointment. Unfortunately the turnpike was massively backed up. At 8:20 I called her office to say that I would be late. At 9AM I called again stating that I would be another 15-20 minutes. I was in Manhattan and nearing the office. I told the individual I would walk the remaining distance and be at the office in 5 minutes. I was told that Dr. Schattner stated that I should reschedule the appointment as she would not see me that day. I fully understand that she had other patients but I don't remember ever being taken at the exact time of my appointment by any doctor. She showed a complete lack of understanding, care and compassion. This is not the type of doctor I would ever feel comfortable with.

HIGHLY recommend!!!! I don’t know where I would be without her !! Dr. Schattner is an outstanding physician !!! She is EXTREMELY compassionate , understanding , kind , knowledgeable , and professional . Dr . Schattner takes a true interest in her patients and is always proactive about providing them with the best care possible !!! I have many complicated medical conditions and I am confident in Dr. Schattners care . Dr . Schattner takes the time to listen to all of your questions and / or concerns !! Assistants were either rude or incompetent, which reflected the general mood and care of the presiding physician and practice itself.

This doctor is one-of- a kind. She is extremely component, caring, concerned, and thorough.

Amazing CARING doctor. The only doctor that I have found that actually LISTENS. It’s as if she can feel what you are going to. She’s so so amazing. It’s so difficult to find a great doctor and a great pulmonologist at that. This woman is a rockstar and deserves an AWARD!

Dr. Schattner saved my live. She is the most dedicated physician and kindest person I have ever met. Thank you for always being supportive and attentive to all my concerns and unusual clinical picture.

A very thorough and precise doctor, explaining things in detail with immediate follow ups. Great experience.

Outstanding. She was all of the very good things said about her on this website, and I felt that my office visit was necessary and worthwhile. My grade would have been even higher for Dr. Schattner, but the grade given is close enough.

Dr. Schattner is a pulmonologist who has provided excellent care to me. She has been thoughtful and careful in forming a diagnosis and carrying out a treatment plan. She has been very responsive when I have had questions or needed help. I trust her completely and she is there for me when I need her. What else is there to say?
