I hate to write this as I loved Dr.Williams as a person, but he was a horrible OB for me. I had a very traumatic birth experience that I feel could have been avoided if Fred would have listened to my concerns when my blood pressure was continuously rising, my legs started swelling, and I was getting headaches in the beginning of my 37th week. I put on 9 pounds of water weight in one day from swelling. He kept me from being induced because I was a "first time mom" but I ended up having to be induced anyways a week later due to my BP reaching 161 over 101. At this point I was put on Magnesium sulfate and Pitocin for 2 days, and ended up hemorrhaging twice during labor and losing 1.6 liters of blood. I thought I was going to die. Had Fred listened to my concerns before hand, this could have been avoided. Then 3 weeks after birth I called Fred's office because I felt my stitches were infected, he checked me out and told me I was fine there's nothing to worry about. I kept feeling like something was wrong and decided I need to switch OBs, just had my appointment this week and confirmed I did have an infection and had to be prescribed antibiotics. So I’ve been going here for a year now it strikes me as odd that dr Fred Williams said he’s going to do something like appointment making or reaching a stent medical facility takes weeks for it to happen and if you have a bad yeast infection already and needed to get medicin or cream to help fix it the office or nerds can’t precribe it you have to wait a week and let it get worse befor that happened. Had two babies under his care, absolutely amazing and friendly staff. It always feels like visiting old friends and family whenever I visit.

Went to see him twice. Both times interrupted with “Thats normal” or “oh you’re fine”. My favorite was when I mentioned my heart rate being so high all the time, whether I should track it on my Fitbit watch which is what I use and give to the doctors when I have an arrhythmia happen, he mocked me by the receptionist desk for other patients to hear pretending to be hysterical about it not working. The absolute cherry on the top was when he touched my thigh IN FRONT OF MY HUSBAND!! Do not go to this creep unless you simply don’t care about your baby or yourself Went to see him twice. Dr.Fred is amazing!! I had to get a c section and I was terrified. I didn't feel a thing and he got him out within 15 minutes with no complications. I healed quickly with hardly any pain. Also he's very friendly and makes you feel comfortable. I never got a chance to say it but thank you Dr. Fred ????

I must say I absolutely appreciate everything Dr. Williams have done for not only for myself but my unborn child at the time (now 6 months old). I went in for my route pregnancy check and was in extreme pain. He made sure they checked me in and when the other doctors found out that I might need to deliver ASAP (at only 7 month); Dr. William made it his duty not only to stop by to check on me but all call throughout the night to make sure I received a bed at Norfolk General. Thanks to Dr. Williams we were able to figure out I was high risk. He not only ensure my safety but my JaxJax safety as well. My family and I would like to thank you for all you’ve done.

Please read. I did not have a good experience at all with him. I lost my baby in 2019 due to preeclampsia and negligence on his part. I do not believe he gave me the care or attention that I deserved as a mother who was having a baby. I would get sent home numerous times from the ER on his call, he would be late for my appointments where sometimes I would just leave, he would also ignore my concerns when I tell him. I got tested for preeclampsia and it came back at a high critical value and he did not treat me for it. He even forgot to put the test in. To this day, I still have nightmares about it. We’re suppose to be able trust the healthcare professionals with our lives and our babies life but unfortunately for me I can’t ever again. He was simply careless. Please read. Dr Williams has been my gynecologist since I was 12 years old, when he was treating underprivileged women in Shoop Park in Norfolk, when I had an ovarian cyst burst. He is an amazing doctor! The ONLY doctor that has stayed with me my whole life so far, I'm 35. He delivered both of my children. I've dealt with many female issues and he always hears me and give a down to earth approach. I've loved watching him grow as a physician, now the head OBGYN for Chesapeake General, and I couldn't be happier for him. He deserves it. You will not be disappointed with his or his staff's care. If I could give no stars I would. There was absolutely no care provided by any staff member here. First appointment I made I explained how I really needed an ultrasound to make sure my baby was okay before travel as I was very early on in my pregnancy and had tried 6 years to conceive with no success until this current pregnancy. I confirmed on 2 different occasions that this appointment would include an ultrasound and both times was reassured it would. Then at that very appointment they told me they would not do an ultrasound because I was not yet 18 to 20 weeks. Fast forward to the end of that visit and they tell me they would schedule me back and my next appointment would be between 18 to 20 weeks for a second trimester anatomy scan. So I schedule this. Now the week before my appointment I find out that this was not scheduled as an anatomy scan but as a regular prenatal visit. And the clinic doesnt even do ultrasounds there on site! Then the referral form Dr. William's sent for my ultrasound on 2 occasions he continued to put it as a first trimester ultrasound instead of a second trimester anatomy scan! 2 occasions! When I called about this his nurse's response was "Oh that goofball." No apology or anything. She then tells me she will have him immediately correct the form after lunch that same day and have him personally give me a call back before the end of the day to let me know he corrected it and sent it over. Over 2 work days later still no call back from the staff and I had left over 4 messages. I also had lab work done with abnormal results that no one took the time to call and discuss with me. I'm honestly afraid for any pregnant woman who goes to this OBGYN. Run while you can. There is no professionalism, no care, no sense of urgency or compassion and you as an expecting mother deserve better. I am appalled by the blatant lack of respect and care provided and will not be going back. I will be seeking out a new OBGYN for the care of my expected child and myself and highly recommend anyone else in my position does the same. If I could give no stars I would. I love Dr Williams he delivered my last baby and he’s been very great at listening to my concerns and he loves me as if I was his family member.

Exceptional service. Always treated with care, dignity, respect and compassion. Excellent staff and Dr. Williams is the best!!!

I have been going to this Dr since i was 17 years old he is awesome. The staff is very friendly they make you feel like family. Dr Williams nd i are family he also was my mom and aunts Dr when they had kids he watch me grow up nd he tells me nothing but the best thing to do. He is like a grandfather that you can trust. I had to find a new GYN when I moved to Chesapeake & I was lucky to find Dr. Williams & his staff. The care, professionalism & time spent with me made an uncomfortable yearly visit an unexpected pleasant experience.

I have a lot of anxiety going to the doctor’s and have always struggled with that. I felt comfortable in Fred’s care and his staff truly want the best for their patients. Fred put my mind at ease and is the epitome of a professional. It’s nice to feel comfortable in that kind of setting. I will be going to him until he retires.

I was injured during surgery. My bladder was sliced then someone stitched it without called a urologist or general surgeon. I was never told this happened. Now almost 2 years after and 3 repair surgeries to fix this mistake I am slowly trying to get my life back. Hopefully I will not loose my home in the process considering i have not been able to work and have had a catheter in and out of me for almost 2 years. All I got from this doctor was an oops I am sorry I ruined your life. Then refused to respond to my attorney. I had to start a go fund me page just to help with my medical expenses from all of the surgeries I have had since the injury happened. AND NOW I am told I may have a bladder condition for the rest of my life requiring medication daily. AND, the repair site could possibly reopen years from now and I will have to relive this nightmare all over again. Thanks Dr. Fred!!!

I love Dr Williams best obgyn I could have ever asked for very patient always communicates and doesn’t just push your concerns and feelings aside

Unfortunately I would rate his office less than a 1 but was never able to see Dr. Williams so cannot rate him. I waited a month for an appointment and once I received one, it was cancelled 30 minutes before I arrived due to two emergency C-sections- which I totally understand and pray all went well- the office said they could not get me in until Mid January and no ability to get me in sooner. That may be okay for some but I get extremely sick while pregnant and sometimes end up in the hospital so its super important to see and get myself on the medications asap. I had a complete meltdown on the phone with the receptionist knowing what my next month was going to look like without any treatment, only for her to tell me there's nothing she can do and maybe I should look for a new doctor. His office had no regard for me as a person or what I was about to be put through....I would NEVER recommend this office to anyone and its sad because I am sure Dr. Williams is a great doctor but he needs better staff or to teach his staff compassion. The front desk were always smiling and friendly. Office wait time was never too long. I just felt like the level of care wasn't there from Dr. Williams. He refused to fill out certain parts of my FMLA Paperwork because of his past transgressions. I switched to another doctor for care half thru my pregnancy. I received my first ultrasound at 19 weeks while under the care of another doctor. The front desk were always smiling and friendly. Office wait time was never too long. Very professional. Checked up on me almost everyday after my urgent surgery.

Ive been seen by Dr.Williams for over 15 years and will not have anyone else as my Dr. He's very down to earth, friendly, hilarious, and enjoys what he does. His staff are always friendly, his office is clean and never a long wait. I trust nobody else with my deliveries! He's a man of integrity and humility. K-Dubb

I can not express the way I feel. This Dr has given me life again. I had a procedure done in December 2016. I was actually seeing another gynecologist at the time. So I ended up going to the ER and Dr. Williams happened to be on duty. He talked to me and I did my follow up appointment with my current gynecologist but then was quickly referred to Dr. Williams. Mind you my current gynecologist was a female who kept recommending that I have a hysterectomy. That was not an option for me. So when I was referred to Dr. Williams I sat and I talked to him and we decided to just wait out the process and to see what happens. So all the glory being given to God, the wait was worth it. I would like to give Dr. Williams a very very very special thank you and I hope that God blesses him dearly. I cannot say thank you enough. I truly recommend this doctor to any female. Dr Williams delivered two of my children. It was a wonderful experience, he made sure I was comfortable and the hospital was excellent as well. Both girls 5 years apart were healthy vaginal births.
