Dr. Sweet or should I say Dr.Sour is the most arrogant Doctor I have ever met. This place bounces you back and forth to their pain clinic for injections.$$$ When the injections don’t work anymore they bounce you down the road.

he did surgery on my dad and cut the membrane and caused cerebrospinal fluid leak. My dad stayed in hospital 3 months and had to have more surgeries.

He did a wrong level surgery on my mom. She never walked again. She walked to the hospital and left in a wheelchair.

Dr. Sweet performed surgery on my back to relieve numbness in the legs and buttocks caused by pinched nerves. Now, 6 weeks after surgery I feel the best I have in years; numbness and pain are gone. Dr. Sweet is both a very fine surgeon and a very fine person. I highly recommend Dr. Sweet.

Dr. Sweet's office, was highly recommended to me, once I found out I had a herniated disc in my lower back. I'm so glad I chose Dr. Sweet as my surgeon. Dr. Fred Sweet did back surgery for stenosis and opening up a disc in my lower back on October 1, 2019. He does excellent work! He is a smart, caring, humble, Christian and an expert surgeon! I am a new man!! Thank you Dr. Sweet and all your wonderful office staff -- I so appreciate you all!! I tried everything! chiropractic, therapy, ice packs, exercise, rest, even decompression. Relief was all very temporary and I was desperate! When Dr. Sweet told me he could do surgery he advised that I could have a 90% relief for the stenosis and 60/40% for the disc problem. He told me to go home and think about it, which I did. I decided it was worth a try and am so glad I did! I know people who had back surgery and are worse off than before. I know that it is scary to consider going under the knife. I also know that Dr. Sweet is very honest. If he cannot help you, he will tell you so! Am very grateful to God, to Dr. Sweet and Sean, and to all the staff at Rockford Spine Center!

Dr. Sweet performed surgery on my lower back and all of my sciatic pain was gone afterwards. I also appreciated Dr. sweet praying with me and for me prior to surgery.

I had back surgery in Jan 2019. The results from this surgery was wonderful. The constant pain that I was having for 6 months totally gone. The small pain from the incision was nothing. I was pretty whinny before the surgery but the nurses and staff were so kind in trying to give me tips to help alleviate the constant pain. Absolutely phenomenal Surgeon and person!!! Dr. Sweet truly lives up to his name, from personality and as they say “Bed Side Manor” / Professionalism to being a phenomenal surgeon. My neck was broke in 3 places with a lot of bone damage from a bad car accident, being hit head on by a drunk driver back in ‘03. Lucky to be alive or walking and yet a year later after my accident I made it Graduated from the Police Academy to become a Police Officer to Protect and Serve. Dr. Sweet and staff are amazing. When I went the first time I was a mess. After talking to Dr. Sweet was very confident he could help me and he did. Had cervical spine surgery Nov. 2018 and lumbar spine surgery Feb.2019. I am now walking with no walker. I never thought I would feel this good again. Dr. Sweet gave me back my quality of life. And for that I will always be grateful. His strong faith I also found to be very comforting. Would recommend 100%.

My wife was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer that had metastasized to her brain and spine. She had unbearable pain in her leg and lower back. The tumor had grown around her spine and intertwined with the nerves, virtually crushing them. We fully understood the seriousness of her diagnosis. The cancer could be addressed with chemo or radiation until she had some relief from the pain. Dr Sweet was direct and to the point as to what he could do, and what the outcome could be. He was the first Doctor that didn't dance around the issue with what if's and maybe's trying to "soften" the situation. Dr. Sweet removed 2 vertebrae that had been damaged and was able to remove approx. 90% of the tumor. He placed 2 "cages" as well as rods and screws to support her spine. I myself have been in the medical field for 14 years, I can honestly say that he is the most caring, thorough doctor I have ever been around. He wears his heart on his sleeve. He explained exactly what my problem was and what he was going to do the relieve all of my leg pain I was having for the last two months. Dr. Sweet and staff returned me to an active life that I had always taken for granted and considered "normal." After 9 months of pain from a compressed sciatic nerve during which I walked in a funny manner trying to avoid that pain, Dr. Sweet and his assistant Sean removed the cause via a Lumbar 4 laminectomy, What a great way to begin the new year which began on January 2nd for me. Hi, I was suffering severe pain in my neck and left arm. I saw 2 ER doctors that misdiagnosed me. I call Dr. Fred Sweet asap. He called me after hrs. with the results from my MRI. He sent me the photographs via phone and thoroughly explained what was causing the pain. He provided me with the knowledge of the situation and what my options were. When I injured my spine, I tried every palliative path available in order to avoid surgery. The last attempt was to say ok to spinal injections. After two spinal injections I was told that surgery was likely. I agreed to speak with a surgeon as a consult, but not committing to surgery. Then I met Dr. Sweet. His confident, kind, no-nonsense approach to presenting the facts of my condition led me to my decision to indeed have surgery to correct the issue, and no longer seek temporary means of pain relief of the symptoms. I was referred to Dr Sweet by several of my friends who had successful surgeries by Dr Sweet. I have had back pain for over 10 years and decided it was time to have it fixed. I saw Dr. sweet who was one of the most pleasant Doctors I have met, and I have worked in the healthcare industry for over 30 years. He was very gracious and had recommended I do everything I could to try and help relieve the pain and wanted surgery to be the last resort. Thank you to Dr. Sweet and his staff. I had surgery in Dec of 2017 and I waited till now to write my review to see how I would feel in 3 months. I feel good I am at about 80 to 90 percent pain free and expect to feel 100 percent in the next 3 months. When I went home the and needed advice his staff was there to help me. I Doctored for 1 year before I finally met Dr. Sweet and his staff. Thank you Dr. Sweet and Staff!!!

Dr. Sweet and Sean did an excellent job on the surgery on my back. I could hardly walk or stand before surgery four weeks ago. I already can walk farther than I could before surgery. My pain is gone what a relief. I have allergies and my skin burns very easily from fabric and soaps. Dr. Sweet went out of his way to make sure I would be ok. Thank you Doc.. I highly recommend this lovely man for you doctor. The whole staff are excellent.

The entire staff takes great care to let you know they are concerned. from the front desk to the post-op visit with Dr. Sweet. I have never been treated as well. The wait times were less than 5 minutes in waiting room and very short in treatment room. Dr. Sweet was very informative in pre-op visit and his staff fast tracked my lab work. So fast my head was spinning LOL. Dr. Sweet really impressed me when he prayed for guidance during surgery and healing with a speedy recovery for me.

I was referred to Dr. Sweet by my long time rheumatologist. I found Dr. Sweet and all of his staff to be very caring and knowledgeable. Once they had my records I was called and successfully scheduled. The scheduler was very pleasant and explained that I would first meet with a PA Sean Soare who works closely with Dr. Sweet. I found both men to be wonderful to work with and so good at explaining what could be done to help my condition. Absolutely, I would recommend them to anyone!

Dr Sweet completely fixed my terrible sciatic nerve pain, which I suffered from for over a year. His surgical technique in performing a microdiscectomy was flawless. I felt great immediately after surgery and couldn't believe how small the incision was. I was back to work in 3 days and have felt fantastic ever since. Dr Sweet was also very kind, caring, compassionate and funny. I drove an hour and a half to see him and I would have driven 10 hours, because he was more than worth it!

Dr. Sweet gave you a feeling of confidence in his skill and his medical opinion. He listened to me describe my symptoms and pain level and took time to explain what was causing my problem and the options available for treatment. He was very kind and prior to surgery took time to pray with us. I would definitely recommend Dr. Sweet to anyone seeking help for a spinal problem. His staff was also very helpful, friendly, and accommodating when scheduling my appointments.

Excellent care, excellent Doctor. Very very happy with all the staff at the Rockford Spine Center. The MRI people on the first floor, the pain management people on the third and the Rockford Spine Center on the second. I could not say one negative thing about anything. I came in with excruciating back, butt and leg pain. They were all very compassionate and understanding. I underwent surgery and got my life back. I AM VERY VERY HAPPY.

Dr. Sweet did a remarkable job on my C3 through 5 vertebrae and I recovered rapidly. Now, more than 2 years later I'm functioning well and have great mobility and no numbness in my hands. This means a lot to a person that loves to camp, go canoeing, and play musical instruments! Thank You!

Dr. Sweet was a fantastic Dr. I felt very comfortable with his explanations of what was going to occur, he spent more time with me than any other doctor I've ever been around, great physician!

Dr. Sweet was recommended by several family friends. His office is over 2.5 hours away, but due to his reputation, I chose to see him. He gave me several options, gave me his opinions and let me decide what was best for me based on his recommendations. I farm, and unfortunately, the pain from the herniated disc became unbearable during harvest. I called and he got me in for surgery the same week. I had surgery on Friday with immediate relief and was back in the tractor on Monday.

Excellent reputation. The laminectomy he performed caused immediate and complete relief of my sciatica. Very calm, caring demeanor. The reason for the wait time is that my follow-up appointment was the day after he was away from the office for a week, so he was running 1 1/2 hours behind schedule. Wait times for the other appointments was < 15 minutes. I'd return to him in a heartbeat if the need arises.

I am so thankful that I was given Dr. Sweets name for my neck and shoulder pain. He was very thorough and made me feel really comfortable with my options. I was in a lot of pain and he moved forward with my surgical needs very quickly. I am several weeks post surgery and everything is going as expected. He was very professional yet calming. What a wonderful Dr. Hard Dr to get into but worth the wait !! The day I went to see him we wnt over my problem and about 48 hours later I had Out Patient Surgury and feeling 100% better when I came too!! Idid what he said and I'm feeling great !! Dr. Fred A Sweet is very personable in his talk with you, shows you what is wrong, explains what would need to be done and then asks if you want to have it done. He sees you in the hospital before the surgery and then the next morning after the surgery. Answers questions and explains it to you in a way that you can understand. Followup appointment six weeks after the surgery was very informative. I would recommend him as a doctor if you have a herniated disc or with your vertebrae problems

Dr. Sweet did my back surgery and before surgery he came into my room and prayed over me. Needless to say I was very greatful I did not expect it.He has excellent bed side manner and listens to what you say and doesn't rush your appointment. I highly recommend him.

Doctor Sweet is amazing. I had no complications what so ever. I referred him to my sister and she is having surgery in March 2017, two other specialists told her that they couldn't operate on her.

He is a very caring man with a bit of humor to ease the comfort of what's coming up. My family that was there for the consultation was impressed with his answers to all questions. Both surgeries were 100% successful, and to the extent of sounding cliche'-ish, I feel like my life was given back to me - he and his staff are a true God-send.

I would recommend Dr. Sweet to anyone who has back pain. I needed back surgery and Dr. Sweet and his staff explained everything to me and were there after the surgery as well. I always received a call back within a short amount of time whenever I had a question post surgery. Thank you Dr. Sweet and your staff for taking such good care of me. My back pain is gone and I can start to enjoy my life again. I only wish that I had come to you sooner.

I was referred to Dr. Sweet by a friend who recently had surgery done by him. I was suffering from scoliosis which had progressively gotten worse over the past three months. I was at the point where I could barely walk with a walker. Dr. Sweet clearly explained what the surgery and recovery would entail. He showed compassion and patience and I never felt rushed. The surgery was successful and now I'm into 7 weeks post-op. I feel as if Dr. Sweet gave me my life back. He's the best!
