About Fraser Henderson
Reviews for Fraser Henderson
I've been looking for a good doctor thats knowledgeable in chiria malformation, ehlers -danlos syndrom, tether cord syndrome, and finally came across Dr Frasier Henderson so I called to set up a appointment to find out this is a facility that accepts no insurance what a joke if you really suffer or have this you sure are not going to be holding down a job just another let down once again so basically this is a place all about money and pick and choice cares less about well being of someone suffering for over 10yr with doctors just pointing fingers and running you around what happened to care and ethics.
Dr Hendersonâs knowledge of the brain and spine has changed my life. Truly a miracle worker.
Long wait but worth every second. If you have EDS, SPINAL brain or vascular problems go here. Worth the flight or drive. Note there are little food places nearby so plan on eating elsewhere before or after the appointment. Go up the ramp on the side of bulging when you park for closest enterence. Edit: turned out i had a csf leak. Dr Henderson focused on what he wanted to look for and told me to get therapy. Leap forward to now, i have an amazing interventional radiologist that not only believed i had a csf leak, but took a chance and did a large volume blood patch. Fixed it first time around. I have eds so it didnt hold, but i never gave up after what dr henderson told me - and eventually i landed with just the right doctor He wasnt right for me- but is excellent for others Long wait but worth every second. Dr. Henderson has been my doctor for 20 yrs. I have Tethered cord Syndrome. He helped me after another surgeon triedto do Tethered cord surgery on me. I have had 3 surgeries with him and after all 3 I have had improvement. My last surgery in Sept of 2020 helped me so much. I still have pain but I now have better bowel and bladder control, can stand up straight, a walk longer. He found that I have adhesive Arachnoiditis. I do believe with his care I am able to function better than I would have. I owe Dr. Henderson a lot for his care over the years. Dr. Henderson has been my doctor for 20 yrs. This is Patricia's friend typing for her. She is unable to take care of herself after her second car accident, Dr. Fraser Henderson abandoned her. Shame on you Dr Henderson. I hope his medical license will be taken away soon. I hope this site doesn't take down my review. This is the third time I have tried to post this review.

After 10 years and 8 unnecessary surgeries from other doctors, I was sent to Dr. Henderson by my primary doctor. I was in constant pain for years and my previous neurologist told me there was nothing wrong with me and it was all in my mind. To say the least, I was furious. Two weeks later i went to Dr Henderson and within 5 minutes of seeing my MRI he had diagnosed me with a tumor on my spine. 2 days later I had surgery and was told beforehand that I would be unable to walk and had a 50/50 chance after therapy. Within hours after surgery I had zero pain and was walking the next day, I was able to go home 3 days after surgery and recovered completely within a few months. That was almost 30 years ago and I still feel great, he was a godsend and I'll never forget all that he has done for me.
My friend is a patient of Dr Fraser Henderson, he ruined her life. She was in a second car accident and the hospital called him and wanted to transfer her to doctor's hospital, which he refused. We tried very hard to get him to see her and he abandoned her. Please stay away from this doctor. I hope they take his medical license.
Bad in a life-changing way... he is VERY dangerous. God complex, although I believe his heart is in the right place. Talked me into a second spine surgery just days before I was scheduled for a fusion in another location in my spine, and only based this on a single piece of paper survey, not MRI images. I was in an urgent situation and needed to trust someone but picked the wrong neurosurgeon to trust. I've had lasting, horrible pain and dysfunction and when I tried returning for help he sent in a PT rather than seeing me himself. Based on the PT visit Dr. H then wanted to do BRAIN surgery on me that I DID NOT need, and again didn't take the time to first figure out what WAS going on. What would have been a 3rd surgery with him fortunately resolved on its own. But my neck and lower back are forever changed and I'll never be the same or out of pain. BEWARE and watch out for positive reviews. He was being sued by others for these things and has been kicked out of hospitals.
Dr Henderson performed surgery on my back in 2016 and did an outstanding job. His bedside manner was awesome and I have had NO issues! Excellent surgeon!!

My experience was great. This doctor changed my life.
After 10+ years of pain, illness, frustration, and dismissal, I finally got answers after seeing Dr. Henderson. For the first time since my health issues have began, I felt like a doctor truly believed me and understood the mechanisms and pathology behind my illness. Henderson's physical examination was the most thorough I've ever had, and he found things other doctors have missed. I am eternally grateful for his attentive care. THANK YOU! I waited 3 hours for an appointment. The receptionist is great....As long as you talk about her favorite subject HERSELF!! The doctors are good however the staff needs to be retrained
Dr. Henderson is undoubtedly one of the most knowledgeable doctors in the world about the conditions he treats. He also recognizes his limitations and asks for other doctors' advice when necessary. He consulted with a few other surgeons about my surgery. He's also conservative when making surgical decisions and keeps his patients' best interests in mind. Doctors like him are extremely rare!
He is thorough, educated about complicated conditions, caring and great bed side manner. Very talented neurosurgeon!
He has changed my life. He continues to learn new ways to deal with us rare Zebras. He is a blessing!
Two weeks ago Dr. Henderson fixed a botched antlantoaxial instability fusion surgery I had in February with a different surgeon. It has been two weeks since my surgery and I already feel better than I did in the 6 months following my previous surgery with the the other surgeon. In my opinion this man is a gift from God to the world. Caring, compassionate and above all thorough which is infinitely important when dealing with this very delicate complex area of the body. If you have EDS and cranio, C1-C2 issues in my opinion you should consider consulting a surgeon who is an expert in this area and Dr. H is exactly that. Very knowledgeable in his field of CCI and eds. Was one of the first doctors to believe in me. Dr. Henderson was able to diagnose me with in 5 minutes of looking at my MRI scans. I would recommend him to anyone who is suffering from eds hyper mobility and cranial- cervical instability!!!
I had a 1 hour consult with Dr. Henderson on 4/15/19. To say he lives up to his inimitable reputation is actually an understatement -- he is a literal Godsend for patients with EDS. He was gracious but efficient with his time and, within 15 minutes, had demonstrated on a large screen the various instabilities in my neck. A year and so many doctors later in MA, RI, NY, NC and now MD, I finally had a diagnosis! The degree to which I had been forced to constantly advocate for myself and do my own research had left me a one-man rapid-fire interrogation machine, but Dr. Henderson remained kind and pleasant in the face of my barrage of questions. As both a person and a professional, he embodies a gentility and civility that is in such rare supply. He is an upstanding, gentlemanly, deeply intelligent neurosurgeon. I would strongly encourage those with EDS to seek out the insight of this very, very rare breed of distinguished neurosurgeon. I'm extremely blessed to be under his care.
Dr. Henderson is the most kind, patient and above all knowledgeable Dr. I have ever come in contact with. He successfully fixed a C1/C2 fusuon surgery due to AAI that another surgeon had botched. I believe Dr. Henderson is a literal gift from God.

I had a cranio cervical fusion surgery with Dr. Fraser Henderson in december of 2017 at doctor’s community hospital. He is the best neurosurgeon in the world. I went all over the place searching for help and answers and nobody could help me. My doctors here in NY, are calling him a wizard. All of the pain in the back of my head and neck are gone. I had a resting heart rate of 145 before my operation to a resting heart rate of 80 post operation. He and doctors community hospital saved my life.
DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR! If you leave a bad review, he will come after you in every way possible. Your life will end up in shambles. Harm WILL come to you if something goes wrong and you report it. Please listen to me. I don't want anyone else to go through what I'm going through.
This man took so much time with me and went through all my symptoms and diagnosis with so much care. Truly life changing experience to have a great Dr!!
Second surgery, second time he saved my life. They just don't come any better than Dr. Fraser Henderson. I won't let anyone else operate on me. Highly recommended. Love you, Dr. H!!
Living with EDS is difficult and complex. To be dismissed for years was worth the wait for Dr. Henderson. Dr. Henderson is in no way perfect but he listens, prays and supports. EDS is incurable but manageable thanks to his blessed mind, heart and hands. I've had the pleasure of being both his patient and colleague(RN previously at DCH????) There are positive and negative aspects of every person, every physician but the blessing is Dr. Henderson knows and acknowledges his strengths and weaknesses. Best experience in what he does best, knowledgeable in rare conditions and investigating where many fail to seek. I've met many doctors in my life but very few enjoy their profession and treat patients with compassion and loving care as Dr. Henderson. I admire his dedication, professionalism, best surgeon and highest standards of all in bedside manner. We are blessed to be in one of the best hands besides God for treatment and hope. I thought Dr Henderson was great like everyone else,HOWEVER,after my SECOND surgery with him, where a fragment was missed, I wasn't treated well by him. I said I was in severe pain after SECOND Surgery and I asked for NRI, not him. He was threatened, said wouldn't write more disability notes, and said to LTD I was better and should find PT work. My LTD was dropped,Im seeing neurosurgeon who wants new MRI,,I've wasted 7 years of my life because these drs can't get a surgery right. Very upset.
Dr. Henderson is incredible! Brilliant surgeon that also has great bedside manors. I could write a book on how he was a God sent for my wife who had what turned out to be a 3 1/2" tumor inside her spinal column. He removed every bit of it and fused her back together.

Dr. Henderson saved my life and gave me my quality of life back. He performed an exceptional surgery that was complicated by small vertebrae in my cervical spine without any problems. He is deeply invested in each patient, is brilliant beyond all measures, and is the best physician, surgeon, and practitioner I have ever met. There are no better hands to put your life in than his. One of the greatest people I have had the privilege to meet.

A Godsend for EDS patients.
He's a true blessing to us girls when other Dr.'s messed up and gave us feeling helpless and left alone.
Dr Henderson is very good at what he does, his interest in the improvement of the quality of life of those with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome is a blessing because without him a lot of us would have many more complications as it is already. He is also very compassionate which is not common in a neuro-surgeon. Love him and owe him so much.
Dr. Henderson essentially saved my life. He has given me my life back with my first surgery. He is patient and caring to the point he should be in the lexicon as the definition of a physician (he does NO harm, he is the best doctor I have seen in my life and I have seen so very many). To say Dr. Fraser Henderson saved my life would be a severe understatement. He allowed me to take my life BACK. His care and compassion for those with Ehlers Danlos is unmatched in the medical field. He is the epitome of what a doctor should be- kind, compassionate, does no harm and truly has the best interests of the patient in his heart and mind at all times. He treats more than just your spine and brain; he sees each person as a whole and does all he can to improve your quality of life.

Dr. Henderson is a Godsend. He gave me back a quality of life that I thought was lost to me forever. I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome - Hypermobility Type and he understands the devastation that the syndrome can do to the spine inside and out. He performed surgery on me and within two days I was feeling relief from a variety of neurological symptoms. I would recommend him to anyone. He is a very wonderful and caring physician. Thank you, Dr. Henderson!
It wasn't until the age of 41 that I was finally diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. I just recently had surgery at Shadygrove with Dr. Henderson. It was the third surgery with Dr. Henderson. Dr. Henderson came in on my last day at Shadygrove. He brought in every nurse he saw in the hallway and he proceeded to discuss the disease process of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. He discussed the pain and why there are so many symptoms associated with it. He is a true blessing of God. I thank you.
